I’m on my way to a camping trip and came across the small town of Bidor, where the well-known Malaysian parang maker run their production. These people take pride in their work, their expertise lies in the heat treatment which blades are easily sharpened and keep the edge sharp for quite some time.

I own two Bidor parangs a 10 inch and a 12 inch heavy. The 12 is a wood processing beast but the balance feels slightly better to me on the 10. Great products.

I have the Bidor Parang Tangkin, the single best cutting tool I own. Great in the back yard, camp ground, and kitchen. I use butcher block conditioner on the blade to keep it looking nice and safe for food prep, it’s certainly the only yard tool I baby lol. I’ve sliced yards and yards of bamboo with it and it looks like new. Absolute units of automotive steel cutlery, highly recommended.

My thoughts are on their devoted dedication, business commitment and confidence over many decades if not century. The young generation must be sent to the foundry/black smit for a motivational lesson on human sacrifice and work perseverance to attain success in once life. Salute the factory and business owner.

I bought a cheap parang from a hardware store back in 1991 for my Scouts camp use. I didn't even know it was called a Golok style parang until in recent years. I've been using the parang for camping, fishing & gardening for years. For chopping branches, wood, bamboo, cut ropes, strings, dig holes, hammer objects, prepare food & even used as measuring tool (1 feet). Really abuse it over the years but well maintained with a little sanding to remove rust and sharpening, it stays useful till this day. I notice it doesn't stay sharp for long and chips easily if hitting rock or nails. Is this Bidor parang really that good?

Yup I have one Golok style too back in the scout days and still using it till now. It's a Samlee m2222. Never tried the parang bidor brand before but the spirit of Malaysian pride in it is there!

Ada beli sabit sawit bidor pendapat aku edisi baru vs edisi lama (punch "Bidor Malaysia"),, edisi baru tak cukup power ketajamannya
Aku lbh gemar guna Bidor copy dari Kuala Selangor,, pahatnya juga tajam
Tentang parang aku guna Cap 201 yg ini betul2 mantap sgt padu ketajaman.
