    This setup sounds good and it makes the movie very enjoyable! And you have a lot of snow remaining, but in weeks it will be better and you can drive on smaller roads that now are covered in snow!

      Thanks. I also think that in a couple of weeks most of the snow will be gone, and I can't wait for getting out driving again :)

    It sounds good. I have a Hero 7 Black with a Mic Adapter. Mic is in the helmet. So I don't have to keep changing batteries it's plugged into a battery pack carried in my shirt pocket where it stays warm.

      Thanks. Yes I have seen you have mentioned it and that is actually great so you will always have enough power for the camera. My Action 4 have about 2 hours batterylife so it will last. But it is also fast to change batteries.

    Sounds great! We've talked about it i think, but i record the same way you do. Zoom H1n with a purple panda lav mic. What lav mic are you using?
    As far as syncing in edit, Da Vinci Resolve has an option that will try and sync it for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I also usually clap my hands 3 times when i start recording to make an obvious noise to aid in suncing up my camera and audio.

    • @ArcticExploring
      @ArcticExploring  4 місяці тому +1

      Ah yes we have talked about it, and you probably remember that I used the cheapest H1 before and it was good enough, but this is better since I doesn't have to adjust volume before recording.
      I usually use also the sync to waveform in Davinci Resolve, but it often doesn't work when I have engine sound later on and even if I start with clapping. So I mostly do it manually and it takes a bit longer.
      Here I used a cheap lav-mic from ebay, but I actually started this trip with BOYA lav-mic but without windfoam so I had to re-edit from where I had switched to this cheap mic.

    Good! And for your filming.... Osmo Action 4?

    So do you record your voice audio separately and then combine it in editing or do you have a way to sync the audio and video at time of recording. I do a lot of start stop recording on my go pros to reduce the amount of editing and batter switching.

    • @ArcticExploring
      @ArcticExploring  4 місяці тому

      I have in the past always recorded my voice separately and it worked ok, but last 2 years I didn't and never were happy with the sound. So now I will use this and yes I have to sync the audio in post and also lower the camera volume a lot so it sound better for viewers.
      Yes it is a pain with a lot of start-stop to sync up again, but I often drive from A to B with not many stops so haven't been a problem and I mostly let it record the whole time while driving.

    Good sound, a little strange sounds just when ju get of the bike. What external microphone do you use?

    • @ArcticExploring
      @ArcticExploring  4 місяці тому +1

      I also wonder why the sound were that terrible when I got of the atv. I use a cheap mic I bought from ebay few years ago. Actually this video I had to re-edit since when I started driving I used a BOYA mic without foam so wind noise was terrible. So I cut the video to where I had changed to this cheap mic with wind protection.

      @@ArcticExploring Maybe it’s bad connection in the cable connector. In my setup the microphone is really important. The microphone that works best is a cheap one from Biltema. Other microphone that I have tried is to sensitive and recording to much wind noise.

    • @ArcticExploring
      @ArcticExploring  4 місяці тому +1

      @@JoonesAdventuresMC It could be because of bad mic or bad connection, not sure. The recorder I used here is a 32 bit float recorder, and that means that the sound will never peak at max or distort. I also have another cheap lavmic with deadcat on but I couldn't find it before this trip. I didn't know Biltema sold mics too.

    • @JoonesAdventuresMC
      @JoonesAdventuresMC 4 місяці тому +1

      @@ArcticExploring They sold them before but not any longer. They where really cheap, like 30kr or something like that.
      I know a youtuber who uses speakers from cardo as microphone to her Gopro and it works great 👍

    • @ArcticExploring
      @ArcticExploring  4 місяці тому +1

      @@JoonesAdventuresMC I had to check and yes they still probably sell lavmic and really cheap, but our local Biltema didn't have it.
      I have Cardo system in my helmet that I actually never use, and have been thinking many times if I could use that mic. Using speakers could also work great.
