- Yuki invites Kyon for dinner in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. A simple yet effective scene with three of my favorite actors.
Kyon - Crispin Freeman
Yuki - Michelle Ruff
Ryoko - Bridgette Hoffman

I'm of the persuasion that Yuki Nagato is the most adorable anime character ever.
Well this version of her certainly is.
No its pochita
Which Nagato?
What's your opinion of Raiha Uesugi, Eve Reese and chifuyu kuroda? All characters are voiced by Natsumi Takamori
Asakura is actually really cute when shes not being a murderous psychopath. Look how fluffy her hair is.
She's kinda cute even when she is being a murderous psychopath.
Yeah if she was not some sort of alien program, then she'd probably be the cutest heroine of the bunch.... I mean look at how caring she is when not trying to kill Kyon.
It’s why I think she’s better in the spin-offs.
In disappearance of yuki a nagato she’s basically nagato’s mom while still maintaining her terrifying presence (*Anger*) and Achakura was probably the best thing to happen to her.
I love this movie.
Also, as a confession, I've always preferred the idea of Kyon and Yuki asa a couple ratherr than him and Haruhi. The two just seem to have much better chemsitry on-screen and in this movie they really seemed to be going in that direction.
This alternate version of Yuki was so emotional and I know she's not the one we all know but despite that this scene really is one of my favourites and shows what could have been.
No, best girl for him is Ryoko
Damn 10 years ago , I can't believe this movie is already a decade old.
It feels like I just watched it a year or so ago.
Same it’s why I enjoyed the spin-off starring yuki so much. That and ryoko when she is not holding stabity urges is always a plus.
@@changvasejarik62 stabity urges are half her character, though.
Her "digital girl" character, anyway.
What's your opinion of the spin off?
When Nagato grabbed Kyon's arm a tear ran through my cheek, as an introvert I know how hard is it to say what we want and we tend to express our emotions with actions rather than words... it hits so hard cause its something I would absolutely do to stop someone from leaving...
Nagato grabing his sleeve just gets me in the feels everytime
HIGH DEFINITION YUKI CUTENESS
DAMNN THAT FLOOR SURE IS CLEAN
- and shows an improvement over live action: it doesn't reflect the camera crew!
I've never thought about that before.
She must take great care of her place
8:21 I wonder how did kyon managed to NOT fall in love with yuki...
Bold of you to assume he didn’t fall in love with her.
Watch the melancholy of haruhi V. Then you know why
Forget Haruhi, Yuki is my waifu for life.
I love this version of Nagato.. Full of Life and Emotion.
Thank God there was a show that show this route..
too bad its not complete just like the original
@@Brandelwyn the final ep of the anime had me riled up
I hate how the anime adapted the manga, it is a lot more subtle and chill than the anime (not to mention the anime only scenes are kind of terrible). Plus it's finished unlike the anime so that is also a big boon.
Well this route never happened its just a "what if" the author confirmed its not canon
Her grabbing his shirt is the most aggressive thing I've ever seen her do.
8:10 and then a miracle happened...
9:32 and then Kyon realized his fears were justified...
I remember on the 4th episode of the anime, she just kicked Kyon on the face.
I wish "The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan" was more like this. Less like a comedy and more "calm" like this. Might be boring to some, but I really like this mood of this movie and especially this scene.
The manga is what you're looking for. The anime in my opinion is a horrible adaptation, because it replaces a lot of that subtlety and calm for more exaggerated and flamboyant moments. Plus it has a few anime only scenes that aren't very good.
The manga in my opinion is one of the most well put together light-hearted romances/easy reads that also cuts a lot of unnecessary fat and adds drama while not wallowing in it ruining the pace. (Though I do love well paced drama and angst)
Bridget Hoffman has such a cute voice. Perfect for little Ryoko.
Yesss
She sounds like Kate Higgins
@@GabeNwagbalayeah that’s true
What Yuki says: Would you like to stay for dinner? What Yuki thinks: Would you like to stay forever?
What would this version of Asakura's mbti be? It's between ENFJ and ESFJ?
Michelle Ruff does an amazing job here in capturing the personality of alternate Yuki. She was able to perfectly make the transformation from a monotone alien to a cute, shy girl with emotion. That's saying something considering how much I usually hate English dubs. Crispin Freeman is amazing as always though xD
Most people think the English dub is the superior version!
Well for me so far i've liked the movie in english, japanese and spanish hahaha. I'm so far in love with the haruhi series. I'll check it out in portuguese if it's available and probably in german xd
My favorite thing about KyoAni is how they are able to animate their characters emotions. It's like small details but you can feel what the character is feeling at the moment.
This comment contains spoilers. Do not read further if you do not want plot details ruined.

What I don't think a lot of viewers realize when they say, "Nagato should have gotten her wish / should have won," was that the world she created was far from perfect. Barring the fact that people were getting ill and that there was nothing really that intriguing around, she created a world which brought back the psychotic Asakura, though Asakura was tasked with keeping her safe. There was also no way of knowing when Asakura's psychotic tendencies would crop up. As she herself implied in this clip, anything that would hurt Nagato wouldn't be forgiven, which means that any action could be misread as a signal to get aggressive.
My theory is that, while Nagato knew HOW to change the world, she didn't realize just what that ENTAILED. As a result, Kyon, the person who she trusted more than anyone, nearly got killed. There's also no guarantee that Asakura would have stopped with Kyon, since the adult Mikuru, young Mikuru, and original Nagato were there as well. Once it became obvious to Nagato what happened and the timeline was restored to normal, she didn't attempt it again, lest events repeat themselves.
For better or worse, Kyon's decision was ultimately the best one not only for the sake of Haruhi, Koizumi, and Mikuru, but for himself and Nagato.
And then the alternate setting goes.. The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato. :)
They are all cute.. And no shirlt happen right.
Yeah Asakura was the one major problem in choosing to stay. Not that Kyon had any knowledge of whether he should have been worried about that or not. But forgetting her........it's an interesting question to whether Kyon made the right choice or not. Haruhi is still quite the danger to the Universe. You could interpret Kyons choice as one of selfishness in a way, where he wants to face that danger everyday despite the horrible risks, as long as it means being with her and his friends in the original timeline.
That said, I think I would ultimately choose the same thing. It wouldn't feel right living in a place so off kilter. It would feel like I'm in some alien world, hardly a place I could be comfortable staying in.
Given that the new world was created by Nagato alone, I infer that she wanted to bring Asakura back into existence. Why, though... That's a different question entirely.
One would even argue that she purposefully altered Asakura's character. This is the hill I'm willing to die on: she wasn't acting this way in the series, or any volume she's in except 4.
As far as I am concerned, Kyongato is the only pairing that makes sense. Maybe he lusts after Asahina, and he has an on again, off again thing with Haruhi, but Nagato...there's just no beating Nagato to me...
Won’t argue hell I cried when I finished the disappearance of yuki nagato series of manga.
Song during the flashback is Gymnopedie No.1 by Erik Satie. Thought someone might like to know.
Thank you.
5:59 I love the way she says that I don't know why
Asakura is starting to grow the hots for Kyon too... it's obvious by the facial expression. She must like a well-read man.
This was one of my favourite scenes in the movie!! :D
This one of my fave anime movies. Wished it had a sequel....
It my fav 6 years ago . And still is !
3:36 "So, thank you" aka "I love you"
This movie is something truly magical.
Indeed
Yuki.. Why your so adorable.. O my God.
damn,Yuki sure looks kawaii.;D
I love how Kyon basically assaults her earlier in the movie, but Nagato still invites him in Xd.
ALL MY FEELS.
unexpected but not unwanted.
Thank goodness for the spinoff, I can have a Kyon x Yuki moment
This Nagato is a Nagato not much see. The real Nagato is like one who wears a coat, a coat that can hide her true emotions to feel human. This is the Nagato I like. 🙂
same here..
(theresaholeseriesaboutthatnagatoyouknow)
It's not that she's hiding her emotions; the concept itself is unfamiliar to her. You might even say it's *alien* to her (badumtss). But she clearly has them, which Kyon is the first to notice.
Does anyone else REALLY want a kotatsu?
Bridgette Hoffman is INSANE!!! crazy how rhythmic her voice sounds, to me anyway!
"You look like youve seen an alien" -"Bitch you tried to stab me"
Well, he did see an alien. Two of them, in fact.
I swear that song is in EVERY THING lol
6:21 OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
6:33 attention to fucking detail. even her ears are RED!
Crazy part is that Asakura is still pretending to be nice!
@Fire Heart I don't think stabbing Kyon and almost killing him in this world is considered "nice."
@@melting-vibes That part is when Kyon and future Mikuru went back in time to reset Nagato. Also, Asakura was recreated to be Yuki's personal slave and protector
To be honest I still get scared of miss asakura when she's a psychopath
@@Sonic86546 huh. That's an interesting take. I always subscribed to the opinion that Nagato had Asakura revived out of remorse for sacrificing her in the beginning of the story, amplified, like the rest of her emotions, by the time loop. Leaving her violent tendencies unchecked was more of an oversight than a conscious decision in my opinion. You paint Nagato as some sort of cynical, cold, selfish mastermind despite a multitude of evidence to the contrary.
@@cheekibreeki904 Nagato definitely wanted a bodyguard/friend now that she was weak and more capable of loneliness. Asakura was the obvious choice for both those things. Whether she felt bad or not was a mute point as the decision was clear whether she considered that or not, and it's difficult to infer one way or the other. Asakura wasn't meant to get in the way of Kyon's decision but the issue was that he was originally given a needle, which he refused, only to accept a gun. It would have definitely been better to tweak Asakura to act less crazy if someone random attacked Nagato on the streets, but was her not doing that really an oversight? Or was it something beyond her ability, as she was not in touch with her own emotions? Something to think about.
8:18 .....el momento en el que mi corazon sentia que vivia de nuevo, un sol nacio, y era su sonrisa... la bella sonrisa de Nagato Yuki-chan
thanks man! ive been wondering what that song was :D

What's the song that starts at 2:41?
Gymnopedia no. 1
Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No.1. There are several, but I think his Gnossiene No.1 is the most achingly beautiful thing ever written. Should be what plays as the world ends. ;-)

Yuki Nagato is best girl forever
Ill be completely honest, as I can relate to Kyon in this instance
When I first started watching the show I wasn't really into Haruhi. In fact I thought that him and Yuki would be a better couple. Yuki was adorable to me and Haruhi was nothing. When I started watching this show and saw there was no Haruhi, something felt off about me. I noticed that the show was a lot better with Haruhi and even with that cute af Yuki I felt that Haruhi and Kyon were the better couple for some reason
I noticed that despite not wanting Haruhi in the first place, I soon wanted Haruhi back lol. As much as I find Yuki adorable, I find Haruhi better, and ship Haruhi and Kyon instead of Yuki and Kyon
Haruhi brought a level of chaos to the picture that was sometimes difficult to deal with. But it's not like Kyon wasn't up to the task, and in a sense you could argue that the world was better off with Haruhi in it, or at least that it potentially was... things were typically the way she "felt" they should be. Real life isn't fair, there aren't guaranteed happy endings, but in her reality if she simply feels like war shouldn't exist or poverty shouldn't be a thing... you see where I'm going? In a sense, that excitement was both a price and the repayment of a better world. The kind of ideal world a young girl might think of.
They did a good job of tackling the only major problem with this before the movie, during the movie arc. Haruhi's narcissism and general lack of care for others made it less fun and more dangerous for everyone. Say the wrong thing and you risk destroying the world, but let her develop as a psychopath and everything would be at her whim... Now that we can more or less trust her to not turn totally evil in the future, at least as long as Kyon is watching, we can assume the world would be better with Haruhi in it.
8:18 depression cured
I'm confused so does this mean in this dimension and the other one where kyon is from yuki likes him.
Not exactly, for Nagato, Kyon was the only person who ever cared about her and it's sometingh that it's showed by how Nagato only trust in Kyon trows the series. In the movie this feeling of trust and the wish of nagato for feel and show emotions makes her to want to expend time with Kyon.
I've finished the whole film and anime and even read some of the light novels but I don't remember the part when Kyon supposedly helped Nagato get a library card (as suggested in the flashbacks here). When in the anime did Kyon help Nagato get a Library card? Am I missing something?
We see it in The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan
He got her the library card early on in the anime (I think episode 3?) when the group drew lots to split up and look for weird phenomena. But when Nagato changed the world, she changed everyone's memories so they wouldn't remember anything they did as the SOS Brigade, including changing her own memory of how she got her library card.
Tldr: what Nagato was describing never happened, but that's how she remembers it.
It's just a fake memory for this alternate world. where yuki went to the library alone and kyon happened to be there and helped her which there isn't context as to why kyon dicides to help her
he still gets yelled at in this flashback like in the original world but i wonder who's the person cuz he didn't know haruhi. Which makes me think thar kyon goes back to that same alternate world and tries to trigger some checkpoints for the timeline to get fixed, that's why you see him somewhat worried and hurried up, the author worked with the animation group and told the animation crew how to make haruhi and the story since it didn't have an order
Best movie of all time. The dub is superbe, better than the sub. I've seen over 800 shows and still this is my favorite

How can you EVER like Asahina over Nagato, she’s perfect
Let's just say, Asahina has two enormous advantages to her.
What episode was this from?
It's from the movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Go watch it!
I thought you might!
Im not finding the movie. Somebody know the name? (In japanese)
涼宮ハルヒの消失
