I don't add the baking soda. I just use essential oils, that are for candle making and epsom salts. Easy! I also don't measure anything. I add the oils until I like the scent I get. lol
Not sure if you live in a hard water area, but do be careful if so - magnesium sulfate (ES) will make your water even harder and potentially ruin your washing machine... If you're in a soft water area, then fill your boots of course!
I love that you used 3 different oils. I only use 1. Do you all find that the scent last even after its been in the dryer? Ive recently started making my own detergent and it smells great going in but like nothing coming out.
Hello I'm getting into making my own laundry detergent and just started using scent boosters. How many spoons do I put in each load? Thanks for this recipe
Welcome to making your own laundry products. I am sure the more and more you get into this the more you will love using homemade soaps. For the sent booster I use anywhere from 1 Tablespoon to 1/4 cup depending on how strong I want the scent. I generally use less on my white clothes but a little more on towels and linens that are used more than once or twice and bulky items (like my husband's work clothes).
I’ve never used scent boosters before but I really like your recipe here! Does this go in the machine before the clothes, to dissolve? Will I risk it bleaching or staining any clothing?
Because my washing machine does not start until I close the lid and it locks immediately I put things into the wash as follows: I load in my clothes, throw in my soap, scent booster, and anything else I may be adding. I have never had this bleach or stain my clothing. I generally use warm or hot water. If I am washing with cold water I like to grab a little bit of water and dissolve the scent booster in it before adding it to the wash.
Because we use Epsom salts instead of regular salt this does not soften your clothes, but just change to regular ole' salt and viola your clothes will be softer. The Baking Soda does well as a fabric softener, as does vinegar. I to make a fabric softener instead of a scent booster I would replace Epsom Salts for regular salt, and then add a cup of vinegar to the wash.

Hi there! I tried your recipe with the scent booster and used it by adding it to the drum. Unfortunately, my laundry didn't hold the scent of the fragrance oil that I used. May I know what I did wrong or what i can do to improve on my scent booster?
I have noticed that some of the more subtle oil scents don't hold as well as the stronger ones. What scent did you use? You may want to add additional drops of scent when making it, or add a little more to your wash. Also, I have also noticed that the heavier clothes sometimes don't hold the scent as well. For instance jeans. I add a little extra to those wash loads.
Hi ladies,I was always told essential oils don’t last the wash, end result the clothes don’t smell like the oils. What do you guys experience?I wanted to use something to scent homeade laundry detergent
In my experience the scent of essential oils dilute drastically in the wash, but yes, I can still smell them. I like to put scents (the same ones) in both my laundry soap as well as the scent booster. Between the two my clothes smell fresh, even if not exactly like the original scent. I have a new laundry detergent recipe I have been testing and it seems to be keeping the scent a lot more, but I am mixing it with glycerin before adding it to the soap. I am not sure why, but it seems to hold the scent better.
Is this Safe for front load laundry? I have laundry business and I am searching how to achieved smell good laundry clothes. Thankyou for this and thankyou for your Reply.
Epsom salt is either made in a factory by mixing magnesium and sulfur compounds or naturally occuring. It can get tainted by machinery and human contamination. If it is food grade it has to pass more quality controls making it ideal for home use.

My Mom use to iron lavender into our sheets as a child. Still love the scent of Lavender. Very nicely done..
My grandmother did that also. The scent brings back such sweet memories.
How? I love the way our older generation did things. They were awsome people

Citrus blend and rosemary would be nice!

I feel like you have to go pretty heavy on the oils to have a lasting effect.
Glad I found this I’ve been seeing TikTok shop videos of good smelling laundry but I don’t wanna pay $20 for a small jar
Hope you enjoy!
Do you have to use the vegetable glycerin or is there a substitute that can be used?
So happy I found you guys! This is such a great idea, I like natural products.
Yay! Thank you! We are glad to have you.
Do you have to use essential oil? I have seen fragrance oils I wasn’t sure if it was different. Thanks
If you use fragrance oils just make sure they are safe for skin contact as some fragrance oils have ingredients that may irritate the skin.
This is an interesting idea. I use a lot of fabric softener because I like my laundry to smell good. Maybe this can replace that.
It sure has worked for me.
Are they safe for your washing machine dryer? Do they contain wax?
They are safe for your machines and do not have any wax in them.

Do you put this in the washer drum or fabric softener receptacle for front load washers?
I put this right in the drum.
@@WisdomPreserved thanks so much. I wondered if I would need to liquify it for a front load.
Best wishes!
If I can't find Epsom salt in my country.. can I use course salet instead?
Yes, coarse salt or sea salt would be your substitute.
Excellent advise Will definetly try this. Thank you❤

@@FrankGutowski-ls8jt why is magensium bad?
@@mavisrobin Because it makes your hard water even harder - increasing soap scum and potentially ruining your machine... 🥴

what is best essential oil for Laundry business like me? For woman and man approximately. Thanks in advance.
I feel like the citrus scents work well for both men and women and still provide a clean refreshing smell.
I can't seem to get the scent to stay between washing and drying my clothes.
How frustrating. Maybe it is the scent you are using?

Is this okay for sensitive skin ???
Yes, that is how I found this recipe, looking for laundry products that would not affect sensitive skin on children who have eczema and psoriasis.
I'm glad she mentioned this because I have sensitive skin .
Is this Safe for front load laundry? I have laundry business and I am searching how to achieved smell good laundry clothes. Thankyou for this and thankyou for your Reply.
In addition to this, I only used liquid detergent when washing because other detergent are not suitable for my machine. Only Liquid detergent.
This should work well in a front loading machine.
Epsom salt food grade or agriculture grade
We have always use the food grade epsom salt.
Thank you very much
Can I use chemical grade ?
Epsom salt is either made in a factory by mixing magnesium and sulfur compounds or naturally occuring. It can get tainted by machinery and human contamination. If it is food grade it has to pass more quality controls making it ideal for home use.
Also, the scent beads aren’t that great for our washing machines, so that and price are the main reasons I don’t buy or use them.
Good to know.
Seems like the concentrate is easier to use and store.
Agreed
