If you want to distribute to centre backs, roll out is better rather than short kicks. Also, teamwork attribute is tied to how well the players follow your tactical instructions. If the players have low teamwork, they will mostly ignore your tactical instructions.
I do manage at this level in real life and can confirm that all instructions are being ignored.
Kev do you have a shortlist that has “keep scout reports up to date” as that will use scouting budget to keep them upto date
Maybe this. If your shortlist contains a bunch of players outside your scouting range (not in this division), then it will be costing extra to scout them.
Kev the keeper is kicking it long because the opposition has 2 strikers, both marking the cbs. The keeper doesn't see them as 'open'. You could click distribute to cbs AND fullbacks to prevent that. And will work vs 1 striker systems as you have it now.
Don't do shouts while the highlights are playing as they only come into action once the highlight is over. That last Berate came after the late game equaliser!
Most complete version of FM. I still can't get over how the aliens haven't been dealt with. Even my game still does them. Must be so frustrating for you as a content creator.
They probably haven't worked on the game after the Christmas update

This is a great episode! This is the one where Kev forgets to set the "roll it out" instruction and has a meltdown!! Love it!!

Kev as an American I have to tell you I loved the locker room issues. Johnny Dolan must have been your Jeff Francore he was a Major League Baseball player who wasn’t really that good but stuck around for about a decade because he was “a great locker room guy”
Kev the financials “improve” after next season because no one is under contract beyond that point. So the club would have no expenses which is why the projection looks “better”.
Jay Mingi, the DM your DoF is after, played a lot of games for Pompey a year or two ago and looked great until he got an unfortunate injury. Would be great to see him in a Wembley shirt (although I’m sure he’ll get snapped up elsewhere)

I wonder if having a DLP rather than a BWM would help with distribution?
It would mean at least one midfielder dropping deep, providing a passing option for your goalkeeper and center backs.
*Edit*: Just another thought: could the two wide players high up the pitch also be causing errant long passing? If the full backs and holding midfielders are too far away from the attackers, maybe their only option is to lump it forward? It's much harder to control possession in a wider system, with large gaps between players.

Roll it out and take fewer risks will probably sort out the keeper hoofing it upfield. Plus you have him as a sweeper keeper, although on defend that’ll just stop him coming out beyond the penalty box, so he’s going to try and start an attack by lumping it and largely ignore your team instructions and being a tier 7 keeper his kicking and vision are not going to be great.

According to the game, if a players Teamwork attribute is low, he's less likely to follow instructions...unfortunately because you're in the dregs of football still, I daresay this will be an issue for a while.

This club goes through owners so quick like Watford does to managers seriously your signed the right players you need to save money your not quite ready for the national league South which is a big step up you get into the EFL major rebuild if the money is there.

It's always the same. When you tell them to distribute short, they do it most of the time but when they kick the other teams scores 90 per cent of the time. No one ever told me that, but I noticed it in the games for the past few years. It's a sneaky FM way of scoring against you. It drives me crazy too.
Yes, when FM is manipulating results it creates turnovers by having your players make long passes to the other team.

KEV! I found a cheat today. When a player demands a release clause offer him £100 wages and he'll straight up reject. Click continue game then right click his contract and resolve with agent, tell them they were being too inflexible or whatever it is (the bottom option), then you get 1st option of a contract and you can remove a release clause before they can even ask for it. When you win the champions league because of me please remember to thank me. Ta
