  • An Irish Coast Guard helicopter taking off from the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), which is also the old Royal Hospital in Kilmainham, Dublin.
The Coast Guard Helicopters occasionally land here after rescuing victims from the sea, after which they are transferred to ambulance and take to one of the nearby hospitals, most likely St. James Hospital, less than a kilometer away.
The open area, sometimes referred to as the paddock, is the nearest area to the hospital open enough to allow the landing of a helicopter. The area is usually used by the public for leisure and dog walking, and occasionally as a music festival venue.
