She had some of the most powerful vocals of any female vocalist to date.... her tone was so unique an strong...... Yes, we all know that Streisand, Celine, Mariah, Adele and the likes are great, but you HAVE to add Donna to that list because she was so effortless and powerful in her vocals....... miss her! All of us who grew up listening to her were blessed...... RIP.
People, there is no competition between her and Barbra Streisand. They are totally different singers altogether. Both are legends in their own right who the crap of today could never, ever compare. Plus, they were friends until the unfortunate passing of Donna Summer. In my opinion, these two women are the best in their styles of music.
There's only one other female vocalist besides Donna Summer, who gives me goosebumps when I hear them hit the high notes and that's Whitney Houston. They both have the voice of an angel and both are unique in their own way.

I heard Donna Sumer sing live quite a few times over the years, and I have to say she was incredible. Many years ago in Atlantic City I was hovering around in the foyer while Donna was inside the auditorium doing a soundcheck, and she sang 'MacArthur Park'. I'm not remotely kidding that the place SHOOK, without the band even starting. Her voice was deep, strong, rich, powerful and so incredibly clear.
You are right I can't find a hint of a live video anywhere not even a decent fake although I did find a couple of those. I do disagree about them doing it live. It would have been phenomenal. Barbara is no chump with her own vocals obviously but Donna would have had the proper respect anyway.
