I thought I was a pretty smart guy by sanding an aftermarket intake block perfectly flat on a glass block. I thought it would increase surface contact area with the gasket and carb which would create a tight seal... it leaked. That's what prompted me to go the OEM route. I noticed a little ridge along the outside edge of that block that would dig into the gasket. I realized the error of my ways.
Put some anaerobic gasket maker on both sides of the gasket.. Permatex 51813.. I had my 272 gasket not holding pressure on Mityvac test put that on and it held perfect. I use it for a lot of stuff including bgd.. Excess will wash away don’t have to worry about clogging impulse and stuff like that
I just bought a used 272xp to mod and I can't get the exhaust bolts out they are stripped . Any info would be awesome . Pretty sure the bolts are stuck or siezed and at this point I've left it be so I don't break them off
Thats a beast!! And youre right!! Looks dont mean squat if she cuts and is dependable!! Id be proud to own it!! What good would it be if she was all purdy and ya didnt wamma use it for fear of a scratch! STAY SAFE!!

Hey buddy, yep another $100 beater that will run with a modern $1000 saw.
A 🐀 rod saw sounds like she's ready to chew on some wood 👍
Nice saw! I'd name it The Sleeper! You've got 266 on the fender with a Hemi under the hood! lol. Subbed.
Ugly saws are like the best women. Work hard and never leave you!
Nice work tinman. My kinda saw. Ironhorse turned me onto you just yesterday. Been wrenching on my bench all day. You got a new subscriber here.
