Wonderful guy , I have massive respect for union lads being in the HGV industry I see a lot of traits in Ricky that are similar to union reps. They all have a working class, hard but fair way of thinking. Love to meet this guy one day. All the best from Liverpool!
I think Ricky worked on the Wrexham bypass. He was the union leader that fought against the 'lumpers' of cash-in-hand unskilled non-union labourers being used as cheap labour on British building sites. No NI payments, no health and safety. Cast aside when injured or ill. Ricky was a proper political prisoner. One of the 'Shrewsbury Two'. It's in his autobiography and elsewhere.
