workplace incivility is just sugarcoating bullying. Call it what it is! Have integrity.

Back in 2007, Staff at ESTH bullied, harassed and subsequently sacked me for trumped up charges. I won my case for unfair dismissal and racial discrimination finally in 2011. Incivility and hostility is the core of ESTH trust and racial discrimination still exist. Making an entertainment video about the culture of your trust will not actually solve the issue

Hi Neomi, we are really sorry to hear about your experience. Without knowing the detail of your case (and without commenting on individual matters), a lot has changed in the last 12-13 years. Most recently, this has included a huge programme of work to improve morale and culture in our organisation, and a staff-led initiative that overhauled our values.

this is an outstanding video that captures the issues of incivility and then beautifully shows us what one of the key solutions is - the kindness of people

Really loved this video, even more so as I know incivility and kindness is real. Even more so, my daughter works in the NHS as a Children's Nurse in A&E so I have shared it with her to maybe share with her colleagues. We are all subject to being 'incivil' as well as on the receiving end. We can also understand that lots of little things build up and when one person 'gets it', so it is how we recover from it, but genuine apologies, being more vulnerable by sharing our stuff and being there for others. We are all doing our best.

This video is fantastic! Such a powerful message that we need to ingrain in everyone working for the NHS. Thank you.

What a great piece of online-learning, Maria et al! You've created a "message film: that isn't always an easy message to get across in such an impactful way.

You should make a video about what is happening in the backrooms of admin. Management and Head of Departments stick together supported by HR. I have worked at Epsom & St Helier for 14 years and it is a place where bullying and disrespectful behaviour is the norm. It's people who make the workplace heaven or hell and as long as the Chief Exec refuses to introduce Zero Tolerance Policy to combat bad behaviour there is no hope in hell things will change. The introduction of the book of Respect which no one is interested in reading and the handful of "Freedom to Speak Up Guardians" whose job is to offer tea and sympathy are UTTERLY USELESS, because they have no power to investigate cases of bullying. Calling psychological and emotional ABUSE on a daily basis "incivility" doesn't do hard core BULLYING justice! Epsom & St Helier is a TOXIC and HOSTILE place to work in. You say a lot has changed in the last 12-13 years? What utter nonsense. I'm about to leave and NOTHING has changed. The bullies are still in control.

Hi there, we are sorry to hear this has been your experience. We would like to be able to look into your concerns, but we would need more information. Would you be interested in emailing us with more detail so we can investigate and seek to resolve the issues you raise?

Your response is rather childish. Please take this matter seriously. Whos is talking about beverages. Let me tell you what tea & sympathy means; IT MEANS they can only offer kind and listening ear to someone who is upset because of being bullied, now do you understand why they are UTTERLY USELESS under the circumstances. What is needed is ACTIVE INVESTIGATION (which apparently they are not supposed to be doing). ACTIVE INVESTIGATION SO THAT THOSE RESPONSIBLE WILL BE HELD TO ACCOUNT.

They should have gone private. Private is so much better. They pick and choose only the fittest and easiest of patients , which makes working so much better and (profitable)!!...

Should of taken the day off and come back when you were 100% ready for a days work. The situation showed a complete lack of professionalism in a stressful situation, which could of put the patient in harms way. Stop making excuses and take some personal responsibility for your actions and decisions.

What SNOWFLAKE nonsense! Grow up kids.
The world is tough and you need to be assertive and yet respectful of others.
