When the weeknd sang “i hope you dont mind” on scared to live again, he realized it was an accidental intepolation of elton john’s “your song” and gave him credits
My journey with this album was very similar to yours, I listened to it once and thought it was okay, and moved on. But a couple weeks ago I decided to give this album my full attention and I’m fucking addicted to this album man. Every time I start this album I’m just as excited as the last, alone again makes me ready, hardest to love hits way too close to home, and faith still kicks my ass every time I listen to it. God this album is so good and seeing you have a similar feeling to this album as mine was great. Fuckin loved this video, can’t wait for the next one brad.
Faith is absolutely insane, especially after listening in order. I can’t listen to this album without listening to each song one after another, it’s such a journey
Great reaction bro, I’m glad you gave this album another try. I love the concept of it as I believe he’s not only telling his feelings and emotions but also a narrative story of these events. His character realizes all his faults and why his relationship ends and doesn’t want to be alone again cuz he knows where he’ll end up. He goes to Vegas and turns back to drugs and girls (heartless/faith) and the end of faith he ODs and ends up in an ambulance (blinding lights) He then realizes his life can’t go down that path and he wants to get his girl back. He sees her happy without him, happy with someone else and won’t take him back (save your tears) He tries to tell her/himself she doesn’t love this new guy (repeat after me) he then realizes she won’t ever take him back even tho he’d do anything for it (after hours) so he kills himself (until I bleed out) I believe the very abrupt, sputtered ending to the song is the character actually dying. I could be way off but I like to think of that album that way! Anyways, great stuff!
At first I wasn't a big fan of Repeat After Me but it's become my favorite track. The concept of it is that he's essentially trying to brainwash the girl, and Kevin Parker's psychedelic production really adds to that idea. Great review Brad.
Feels like a night in vegas but a lonely night. Drunk, high, searching for something or someone to fulfill the emptyness idk. This neo-tokyo vibe is more like a Kiss Land mood
If you don't count all 3 mixtapes as one project, Kiss Land is Abel's greatest body of work, slightly edging out Echoes of Silence in my opinion. Fantastic album and one of my favorites of all time.
okay just finished and i have come to my conclusion: first, i don’t typically like this kind of music but you’ve tempted me into listening to it a bit more and second, i really appreciate you, might unsubscribe so i can subscribe again

There’s nothing wrong with loving save your tears. It’s been 4 years since i first listened to this album and save your tears will always be one of my favorite songs from this album. xotwod

wow i loved the feel of blinding lights but didn't put much attention to the rest. i wasn't ready for all the realness and feeling that the album had i really enjoyed Faith it fucked me up too and when you said that in your eyes was him talking to himself i almost cried i didn't consider it at all and that makes it more hard and amazing to listen, thanks you for reviewing it!
To me Save Your Tears is like him trying to convince himself that everything is ok before hitting rock bottom on After Hours and Until I Bleed Out. Maybe my favorite song on the album.
Seeing a pattern. “I didn’t really give this a chance.” *positive reviews from other critics* “I oughta give this another chance now that I’m in a different headspace”
I played this album at work one day for the hour before we opened/stocking and cleaning and I swear everyone screamed to change it just because it was so depressing to start the day with it.
The Weeknd is my favorite artist and this is my favorite album, so I’ve been all over UA-cam watching every bodies reaction videos and I can confidently say that yours is the best. My favorite thing about your video is how like The Weeknd you didn’t hold anything back and let all your thoughts and emotions out for us. Really good video man keep up the great work 👍
I'm a huge the weeknd fan and I watch many reactions/reviews of his albums but there aren't many people who give constructive criticism AND understand the album as a whole like you did. People either suck tf out of Abel's BBC or just say it's bad because boo hoo "we want old weeknd back"
This is definitely an album that gets better the more you listen to it. I literally listened to this album for 5 weeks straight multiple times a day. I’m now just coming down from it. Love this album, best album besides kiss land and his earlier mixtapes.

Faith and Until I Bleed Out are my favourites, I felt what you said when you listened to Faith 100%. Blinding Lights was a single before the album release and hearing it on the album after Faith (in terms of the outro) really changed the entire mood of the song for me.
@@sexysaurusrex548 I wouldn't go far as to say she's "generic" generic. Sure, the album heavily incorporates familiar sounds in pop, particularly the early 2000s, but it's tastefully done. And to be fair, it's her debut record. She can definitely transition to a more focused direction in the future. I just had a blast listening to "Sawayama". To each their own.

The 3 bonus tracks provide a little closure to the album, I'm not a huge fan of Miss You but the other 2 fit right into the album, worth a listen even if not on camera. Final Lullaby is a great thematic closer, not that Until I Bleed Out isn't, but it feels a little more hopeful.
Really glad I watched this. I kinda half ass skimmed the album and pretty much just blew it off because it all sorta just blended together. I feel much more excited to sit down and listen to it again. Great video
