He was a very fine writer/point songwriter/ tune He wrote many songs including the classic songs that are sung to this very day The Minstrel Boy" and "The Last Rose of Summer., When you have an hour to spare go and listen to the brilliant singer-songwriter Nina Simone singing The Last Rose Of Summer, you will replay it many times and it will knock your socks off
He wrote an incandescent poem against slavery in the USA, and the hypocrisy of the Founding Fathers. Scathing even by today's standards. That copper mine, my dad worked there in the 70s; pretty sure it must have been the same face I saw when he took me there as a small child. Unreal to see it.
