Daeg this has to be the worst rec experience I've had in 2k this year. The way they match you up with guys that literally come to sell or don't know the basics is crazy. I don't mind losing. It's part of the game but when I have others that think it's a my career game on rookie or have no type of IQ I get pissed. It gets worse every year and this year is peak stupidity in rec. I literally want to give up sometimes and stop playing 2k. It destroys your mental sometimes.

Most of the time I have to grab a rebound and force create my own shot. Or if you have the best stats on the team as a big man, the others will purposely sabotage you with bad passes
Facts if you shoot 70% they will go 1/8 before they pass you the ball, and you catch the team up they ice you out again I just quit idgaf no more once I'm banned I'm done for the day...I've quit with 22 points before it gives me a headache watching bad basketball

I’ve been on both sides … I’ve been sold and I’ve sold … but when i sell it’s because it’s the second quarter and i got 1 shot while everyone else has atleast 5 each … and you can tell when people are deliberately passing around you … when I’m running wit my homies .. the open person gets the ball wether it’s a random or my potnas .. we play to win … a lot of people are used to losing so they sell to make people quit so they can score all the points
I feel your pain! You have to judge people based on the color of their performance not their 99 rating. I will take an 85 gold over a 99 black anyday. Well 98% of the time. People with high performances had to grind to get those colors up and not bout to just give it up that easy. It kills me when i hop in a lobby and the casuals leave within the first 2 min of the game putting pressure on those of us who r trying to win. This year you can kinda predict what you're going to get based on the performance meter. The only thing i hate about it is when i do a rebirth i start over as a casual so on paper im lumped into the same category as the center in the vid by bad reputation of casuals and have to pray a decent enough group of other high iq randoms takes me in until i get back on my feet. After the first couple of min they see I'm not an typical casual. Rec play comes down to sacrifice and patience. Do u want to score or do u want to win. Some people need to feel involved and if they aren't u get guys like this center.

Had a rando C start selling yesterday in the 1st qtr, his reasoning was that the pg was "blind". Meanwhile, EVERYONE on the team had between 3-5 fg attempts at this point. He took 17 offensive player out of bounds penalties before he was booted. Cant wrap my mind around the mentality required to do this shit. Like, what is your expectation?

Everytime you think you have found the worst dude ever you find a new one. Played a game last night where a dude that was shooting 1-6 from 3 started to stand out of bounds and not play defense at the start of the 4th because he was butt hurt about being open on the wing and not getting the ball. for a possession or two. We gave him 7 shots, and none of us were freezing him out on purpose. Just out of nowhere he did this shit. We was up by 6 or 8 to start the quarter and were down by 12 with a minute left because of his trash move. Then he started to play like he was going to save us if we gave him the ball.
The sad part is this happens dam near every game. I’ve been playing 2k since 15 and this rec experience this year has officially made me give up on the game forever. You can’t even enjoy the game because the community is so toxic. I won’t play 2k again until they start banning toxic ppl. The whole point of a game is to enjoy it but with randoms it’s impossible. No other community allows ppl to continually be toxic.
I just play till I find dudes who are nice and inv to party and see how long the solid players will stick together. Even if the other team is nice I’ll hit them up. Good luck on the UA-cam grind I am attempting to start a similar series
Somehow 2K tends to pair decent/good players with "the bottom of the barrel" players. 70w% - 90w% Goat/Gold status players get paired with 30w% - 40w% Black status players. There needs to be a tier matchmaking system or something. Let the terrible ppl play with terrible ppl. I don't think there should be a vote to kick system because ppl would abuse it and kick ppl for no reason. But there should be a ban system: If there are multiple clips/videos of a certain player, standing out of bounds or in the paint or holding the ball to the end of shot clock or calling timeouts etc, they should be reported and banned for a time period. Bring back the gamertag that called the timeout so we can see who it is instead of black/white team called timeout. Bring back the stats above the head of everyone!!! So I have a choice to dashboard when I see 3 players avg 2AST and 7PPG shooting 32%FG. Bring back banning ppl for quitting early, that's a tough one for ppl with bad internet but I'm willing to roll that dice because how many times we see someone go 1/10 then quit.
Nah I’ve always preferred playing rec but this year… made me rethink buying one again I want to have fun playing games not deal with these people. Decent idea in theory, but if you play rec solo, you can't ever get goat status. How does it make sense, that I get paired with a bunch of weak ass sorry ass mutants, who all quit or sell the game by half time, and then I stay by myself and finish the game and still get an A+, but of course lose, and still take a big hit to my meter. You can't quit though because then you're really gonna take a massive hit to it. I really hope they do better with the next game, they have the tools and ability to make it good, just do it. Be mad at 2k. They made the community this way by basing legendary status on points scored. They incentivized the selfishness. You can’t obtain legendary status with a certain amount of assists, rebounds, steals, or otherwise playing team ball. It’s only points scored that matters. It’s 2k’s decision making that made the game this way.
Ayne gone lie I be selling like a mf. I always make shootings bigs to space the floor. I get rebs and blocks and have my takeover within the first qtr. There’s games where the opposing big plays defense and there’s games where he don’t. If I’m sitting wing or corner (prefer wing to get back on fastbreak) and I’m glittering with sharp takeover and you keep getting blocked by the center I’m gonna flop. I do this about 3 times. After that when I see you about to get blocked imma call timeout. If I see a dunk meter I let it play out but still. If a man is not guarding me pass the mfn ball. Once I hit a couple shots he’s gonna have to respect the shot and THEN that opens up the paint for everybody. I literally just spot up the whole game. No screens (unless I see you’re guarded by a lock) no fake cuts I let the guards eat. And I sell for one play after ppl call timeout cuz I’m dribbling up the court. Meanwhile if I throw an outlet pass it’s either a turnover or the player runs out of bounds. But ppl call timeout when I’m making high iq play. I don’t get the ball ripped (moving behind the back or dbl explosive behind the back easily thwarts a trap). Plus everyone runs to the paint and by the time I get across halfcourt they’re at the three and the defense is flat footed. I either pull up and green, pass to open person, or drive and kick. So some of y’all be selling yourselves.4
I’ll tell you why he did it. He was hoping all of y’all quit, so he can play with 4 bots, call for every pass, and get more rep. If you tell them that “we not quitting” they usually quit in enough time for you to come back.
Doing that for rep is just dumb. You get more rep for winning. Getting 8 points and 15 boards with an A grade in a win will get you more REP than 40 points and 15 boards with a B grade in a loss.
Now let me say something as pure basketball fan I have really high i.q I'm talking about plays in all now I can't speak for everyone else but when I go in the rec by myself I typically get iced out due me being parred with a team that either pass it to it they homeboys from the get go and won't give me a chance I mean at all to score so yes it does happen a full team can come in and ice you out you don't even have to have scored at all previously you just get iced out I've been on multiple teams that do it they come in with 4 people And how I play anyone with i.q can see me I know when to cut and when to spot up but if they put someone on your team that doesn't know how to pass or the team or people on the team not looking to pass then yes Ill sell especially since I've passed the ball 3 while quarters without even getting a chance to show what I can do what I've learned In playing rec you have to trust your teammates regardless if you know how they play or not I don't play like most people so since I don't people assume I don't know what I'm doing if you have high i.q you can see what I'm doing I don't condone selling at all but you also have to cover the ones that are on a team and not passing it to you without you doinh nothing wrong it dont just be only one person being selfish if someone come in with they squad and ice you out so yes ban people but it has to be fair cus people that be on squads yeah like you said young kids definitely be doing stupid stuff jacking up threes poor spacing I'm planning to go back to GameCube they made me not like this game no more its more stressful than fun

When someone gets a 3 in the key like 2 or 3 times in a row or just sell on purpose like running out of bounds and shit. They should get kicked plus banned for a certain amount of time. This makes 2k unplayable without friends bro.

I play center who make the right passes and etc and hell I don’t get rewarded the ball neither . So get an offensive rebound and go back up. Most of them don’t make all their shots and all I have to do is get the board and go back up. Or when they get trapped stay close by them so they can force the ball to ya and green that bih . Just make sure you do! Common sense is a virtue my kings!

Yeah they gotta do something about it. One player can just fucking hijack an entire game, ruin it for everyone. The new rep system is trash too. Decent idea in theory, but if you play rec solo, you can't ever get goat status. How does it make sense, that I get paired with a bunch of weak ass sorry ass mutants, who all quit or sell the game by half time, and then I stay by myself and finish the game and still get an A+, but of course lose, and still take a big hit to my meter. You can't quit though because then you're really gonna take a massive hit to it. I really hope they do better with the next game, they have the tools and ability to make it good, just do it. Just fucking do it.
Be mad at 2k. They made the community this way by basing legendary status on points scored. They incentivized the selfishness. You can’t obtain legendary status with a certain amount of assists, rebounds, steals, or otherwise playing team ball. It’s only points scored that matters. It’s 2k’s decision making that made the game this way.

Ayne gone lie I be selling like a mf. I always make shootings bigs to space the floor. I get rebs and blocks and have my takeover within the first qtr. There’s games where the opposing big plays defense and there’s games where he don’t. If I’m sitting wing or corner (prefer wing to get back on fastbreak) and I’m glittering with sharp takeover and you keep getting blocked by the center I’m gonna flop. I do this about 3 times. After that when I see you about to get blocked imma call timeout. If I see a dunk meter I let it play out but still. If a man is not guarding me pass the mfn ball. Once I hit a couple shots he’s gonna have to respect the shot and THEN that opens up the paint for everybody. I literally just spot up the whole game. No screens (unless I see you’re guarded by a lock) no fake cuts I let the guards eat. And I sell for one play after ppl call timeout cuz I’m dribbling up the court. Meanwhile if I throw an outlet pass it’s either a turnover or the player runs out of bounds. But ppl call timeout when I’m making high iq play. I don’t get the ball ripped (moving behind the back or dbl explosive behind the back easily thwarts a trap). Plus everyone runs to the paint and by the time I get across halfcourt they’re at the three and the defense is flat footed. I either pull up and green, pass to open person, or drive and kick. So some of y’all be selling yourselves.4
I’ll tell you why he did it. He was hoping all of y’all quit, so he can play with 4 bots, call for every pass, and get more rep.
If you tell them that “we not quitting” they usually quit in enough time for you to come back.
Doing that for rep is just dumb. You get more rep for winning. Getting 8 points and 15 boards with an A grade in a win will get you more REP than 40 points and 15 boards with a B grade in a loss.

Now let me say something as pure basketball fan I have really high i.q I'm talking about plays in all now I can't speak for everyone else but when I go in the rec by myself I typically get iced out due me being parred with a team that either pass it to it they homeboys from the get go and won't give me a chance I mean at all to score so yes it does happen a full team can come in and ice you out you don't even have to have scored at all previously you just get iced out I've been on multiple teams that do it they come in with 4 people And how I play anyone with i.q can see me I know when to cut and when to spot up but if they put someone on your team that doesn't know how to pass or the team or people on the team not looking to pass then yes Ill sell especially since I've passed the ball 3 while quarters without even getting a chance to show what I can do what I've learned In playing rec you have to trust your teammates regardless if you know how they play or not I don't play like most people so since I don't people assume I don't know what I'm doing if you have high i.q you can see what I'm doing I don't condone selling at all but you also have to cover the ones that are on a team and not passing it to you without you doinh nothing wrong it dont just be only one person being selfish if someone come in with they squad and ice you out so yes ban people but it has to be fair cus people that be on squads yeah like you said young kids definitely be doing stupid stuff jacking up threes poor spacing I'm planning to go back to GameCube they made me not like this game no more its more stressful than fun
