Heel Toe Happy Feet
1. Start with your feet shoulder width apart. Pivot your right foot right on its heel while pivoting your left foot right on its toe. Reset by pivoting both feet back to the left, leaving them flat on the floor again. When you reset, remember to keep your knees loose.
2. To do this in the other direction, pivot your left foot left on its heel while pivoting your right foot left on its toe. Reset by pivoting both feet back to the right, leaving them flat on the foor.
As you become more comfortable with this move, you can add head movements or do a double on each side.
Heel Toe Happy Feet Hop
1. Start with your feet shoulder width apart. Instead of just pivoting your feet like you did in the heel toe happy feet, do a small hop while pivoting them in the air. That way, you'll land with your feet in the pivoted position. Reset to leave your feet flat on the floor.
2. To do this in the other direction, do a small hop and pivot your feet the other way. Land with your feet in this pivoted position. Reset to leave your feet flat on the floor.
Walk Out Happy Feet
1. Start with your feet shoulder width apart. Step your right foot forward and to the right, resting it on its heel. Step your left foot forward and to the left, resting it on its heel.
2. Step your right foot backward, resting it on its toe. Step your left foot backward, resting it on its toe.
Switch Foot Happy Feet
1. While pivoting your right foot slightly outward on its heel, pivot your left heel slightly inward, pivoting on the toe. Pivot your feet back to normal to reset.
2. To do it in the other direction, pivot your left foot slightly outward on its heel while pivoting your right heel slightly inward, pivoting on the toe. Pivot your feet back to normal to reset.
Combination
After learning all of these variations of the happy feet, try doing them all in a row, one after the other. Each variation should be done in a right, left, right, left pattern.
Other Body Parts
Because there are no set arm or head movements for the happy feet, you can use any of the moves you've already learned in this course. As always, remember that it's the unique personal touches you add that make the moves yours.
