The Kobudo Asayama Ichiden Ryu, of which Seki Sensei is the 22nd headmaster, was one of the most popular Ryuha styles during the Edo period. In our golden age, we had over 7,000 students nationwide. Today, we only have 100 students. Our dream is to revive the golden age of Asayama Ichiden Ryu while Seki Sensei is still the headmaster. We want future generations to remember Seki Sensei as the legendary Sōké who brought back the glory of our Ryuha. Your donations will be used to cover Shogo's travel expenses to visit the main dojo from Kyoto, UA-cam video shooting costs, online lesson operation costs, and training camps in Japan and overseas.

Everything that Shogo uses for their katana training is bought at this shop… Shogo still uses the first training katana he bought in 2016 and is still in good shape!

I love that this channel is willing to show students different experience levels performing. It’s natural to only want to show off the “best” examples of the school, but martial arts is a long journey and these beginning steps are the most important to get to see

Please show Seki Sensei a Flamberge or Zweihander, and a Khopesh!
I really want to see what he would think about these weapons that to him would surely seem incredibly odd

Seki Sensei, it's an honor to be able to see and hear your insight on these traditions that would mostly be lost to time to most of us westerners. Ever since I saw your longsword video, I've wanted to see how you would handle a montante/spadone/flamberge or other similar two-handed greatsword. It would be incredible to see what you think!

Since I have joined the family, I have learned so much, it's absolutely incredible, Seki is a wonderful teacher and Shogu is amazing in getting the point across for full understanding.

A bit late, but a big "Congrats!" to the students! It's been great to see everyone's practice & dedication to the skill… as well as how they readied their practice-area. (My place is cramped & full of people. Perhaps, when my financial situation is better and I can secure a wide enough practice-area, it would be nice to join your ranks.) The best to them all & all involved!

Hi ^^. I wanted to ask you guys if you could if you have the time react to 2 games and how the fighting systems are. The first one would be For Honor, theres a Samurai factuon with many Samurai warriors. And the second one would be Kingdom come deliverance wich plays in th3 year 1403 in the holy roman empire, they wanted to make the fighting system as real as possible and i just want to know your guys opinion on that, would be cool. Thanks for reading :>

If I'm 187cm tall can i use my 79.2cm katana to train? This is 2-6-1 shaku

I, Shogo, am 173 cm and use a 2.6 Shaku, so it would be better if it’s longer!
