Love your vids, Justin. One thing I really like: You always spend time explaining both the rhythmic feel and rhythm guitars. As a teacher myself, I try and emphasize that aspect of music because, well … It’s the most important thing! Thank you!
Justin you atr the best. Thank you so much. You are the only one I trust on here to get it right. I was in a music store in my home city Nottingham Uk. yesterday, and was impressed to see your song books there. Looking forward to using.. their excellent.
Awesome lesson! Especially when you explain the settings on your electric. I bought my first electric just under a year ago & I'm still learning how to set it up etc so that was extremely useful! Never stop teaching please - you explain things so clearly & make even the most advanced songs seem totally doable!!!!! I've learnt so much from you in my first year (with the help of lessons from a tutor too) your vids have been so valuable in my learning journey!!! X Much love x
Whenever I used to play this on bass guitar, back in the day i found that the riff sounded better if it was a sequential run down on the low e string (0067005700430032 fretting), which helped keeping the rolling feel going, and added a dynamic to it. Great work my friend, and thoroughly enjoy the work that you put in. kindest regards, Quo @ Quo Guitars, Lancashire
this is a great arrangement , sounds like a simple song but is deceptively sophisticated . What a great song .(10:47 bass part is definately on recording !) Wales UK. (Old South Wales !)
Midnight Oil is great. Wish to hear more by them, also by Men at Work and, as always, Dire Straits. Also goodnoght sweet prince Leonard Cohen, see you later. Are you going to make a special, Justin?
Just came back from their show in Cologne tonight. Unbelievable! So tight, still sounding absolutely fantastic after that long, long break. Go catch them if you can ;-)
Thanks for doing this, a song I have loved since it was released. As the owner of four strat-like guitars, I just love the tone you are getting. Wow. Just beautiful.
I dunno if it's a coincidence but i suggested this song a week or so ago for your Aussie songbook, so if you made this video after seeing my comment, cheers ! If you had this video made before i commented then i'll have to say that great minds think alike and all that. Mystify or Never Tear Us Apart would be good 1s for the Aussie songbook too mate 😆
Great lesson Justin! Official versión by an AUSSIE. We kick off every gig with this in Madrid .. Fantastic tune - wakes the punters up. A few nuances that i´d missed ....thanks for that =) Esp´ The section that you call the ´synth bit´... i never thought to just walk the A to B under the chord. I go the Other route sliding the OPEN G Chord up through the 5t & 7t fret- catching both e&B string with the ring finger !! Off to see what else ive missed. Thanks
Hello Justin! Are you planning on doing some kind of tribute for the great Leonard Cohen who just unfortunatly passed away. Im going to play his song all day as a little tribute.
I loved playing along to this. Takes me back to my childhood. Any split enz Justin? I got you. Was a good one. Or crowded house to inxs? You gained another subscriber. Love these songs that are gems today.
Justin! So good to see you doing some good ol aussie classics for your channel. Great to finally learn some songs that have been really difficult to find lessons on. Thanks so much for your hard work.Any chance of getting The Choirboys - Run to Paradise ?
Could you do a lesson on "like to get to know you" by Spanky and our Gang? There's some sweet guitar in there especially near the end when he starts to add the string slaps. I can't quite figure it out myself.
hi Justin excellent work very helpfull. can you do some more tutorials aussie rock eg masters apprentices turn up your radio would be appreciated thanks
You can request 1 song per week here, on the bottom of the "Songs" page on the website: www.justinguitar.com/songs You'll have to create account first. You can also vote for multiple other songs | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Assistant
Learning theory at the moment, and how can a G major be in the key of E? Thlught i would analyze the song and understand everything, but i am stuck at the intro😂 e g and A shoule be illegal no?
Kudos for learning theory to enhance your guitar playing. The song is not in one key throughout. The pre-chorus (E, D, A) is modal, E mixolydian with a bVII D major chord. The other sections are in E minor - with the B7 being a V7, a common feature in minor keys. Are you using Justin's practical music theory course? As great as usual Justin! i'm also trying to learn "Lover you should've come over" by Jeff Buckley, but there are no lessons on youtube. Could you give a listen to it? thanks
But tabs, WHERE ARE THE TABS??? Im spanish and is difficult to understand the notes without tabs. You name the notes a b c d e,... But in other countries is do re mi fa sol,... Pls tabs
Nice job. However you've got the bass line wrong at ua-cam.com/video/S0rV8p4-bwM/v-deo.html. On beat four it should be an A natural each time (A sharp on beat 2, but not on beat 4). i.e., | E E A# B E E A B | E E G# A E E G F# | Thanks for the video.

Great arrangement, and a great song.
Hi Justin,
I really like and appreciate the way you explain. You're a great teacher to learn from.

I love this! Thanks man 👍
DONT STOP THE AUSSI ROCK :)
the chord riffs from 0:23 onward are a direct match to the song "homicide" by British punk band 999.
it's eerie similar.
definitely sounds similar, but those are common chords
Danke
Thank you!
Awesome Justin! Some more aussie rock songs please?
Great lesson Justin, this is probably one of my favorite songs. Thanks :)

I definitely hear that little G A B riff on the G chord as well.

Hey Justin, what happened to your other awesome guitars?
Muito bom
you should do some songs by Dragon - another classic NZ/AU band!
Learning theory at the moment, and how can a G major be in the key of E? Thlught i would analyze the song and understand everything, but i am stuck at the intro😂 e g and A shoule be illegal no?

"how can we dance when our Earth is turning"? Can someone answer that?
How can we celebrate when the foundation of our society has been built on genocide. We must reconcile past injustices to move forward as one people.
Our planet is twisting
The same way we sleep when the beds are burning
Do I have to tune up the guitar different?
As great as usual Justin! i'm also trying to learn "Lover you should've come over" by Jeff Buckley, but there are no lessons on youtube. Could you give a listen to it?
thanks
Hey Justin, what guitar model is that?
Seeing as he hasn't answered, it looks like a Fender Squier.
read about by midnight oil please
Very funny and didactic when he substitutes the chord names for lyrics.
E minor sleeps when the C is burning 😁
Cheers. You Am I maybe? :)
But tabs, WHERE ARE THE TABS??? Im spanish and is difficult to understand the notes without tabs. You name the notes a b c d e,... But in other countries is do re mi fa sol,... Pls tabs
Falta el TAB
