    You had a berry on talonflame so acrobatics was not working, I tend to make that mistake A LOT so i noticed it right away and was somewhat happy you did it too lol

    I don't want the guys to feel like they can only do pokemon games, but the games allow them to show off being tactical and thoughtful about what they're doing, while also allowing them moments to just have banter really works.
    I also think their speedrun stuff is fun as well, because it also shows their planning, but offset by their reactions to mistakes

      From I noticed it's better to focus on boosting yourself than debuffing. Especially considering all the items they'll have and often times you won't have. Swords dance and nasty plot are your friends, especially on sweepers, but there also some insane tanks.

    You wake up some day and you are a giant Starmie, a purple, psychic starfish
    What do you do with your life?

      Well how Giant are we talking? If I'm a kaiju the clear answer is destroy Tokyo, but if I'm just a Starmie with gigantism I have to think more.

      @@edwardnygma8533 considering how small real starfishes are, a normal Starmie is a giant starfish, so lets say a 2 meters tall Starmie

    I think in the previous episode you mentioned thinking that you couldn't catch legendaries in the wild. I don't know how many, but it turns out you can. I just encountered a Calyrex as a boss on the 100th encounter. Also managed to catch it.
    I may hate Calyrex, but you don't just pass up a legendary.

    This is very boring game. It's literally just battles. That's so boring. Pokémon is supposed be an adventure, not a fuckn chess game.

      Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I just don't get this one. Do you watch Pokémon videos for the traversal bits? The battles are 90% or more of the actual content.

      @@edwardnygma8533 I haven’t said this exactly, but I have said that the lack of over-world vastly diminishes the game for me. There’s nothing interesting about just going from battle to battle with nothing of note going on or any significant story taking place. You’re free to disagree with that but I just find the same thing, over and over, completely abysmal.
      I’d also disagree about battles being the “content” (gross fucking term) of Pokemon. The “content” is the narrative and how you play it out, with your battles and choice of companion(s) enriching that experiencing. Battles are 1/4 of the experience, if even that much. I find it baffling that, in an rpg, you think the battles (that rarely last more than a couple minutes at most) are the main draw.

    • @edwardnygma8533
      @edwardnygma8533 14 днів тому

      @Kerunou You are talking about playing Pokémon. I, and I assume the other guy, are talking about watching Pokémon be played. That's why I referred to it as content, since that's what it is. Most people aren't watching these guys, or most Pokémon challenges or playthroughs etc, for story beats, but the team building and battles. Barring new games or older games that an individual hasn't played or seen before, no one is invested in watching someone play, say, Red or Gold to see their plots again.
      If you prefer those aspects of playing Pokémon over the battles, that's understandable. But in terms of watching a video I'd wager a guess and say most people pay the most attention during big fights, not the opening dialogs and such.

    • @Kerunou
      @Kerunou 14 днів тому +1

      @@edwardnygma8533I’m 100% talking about watching a video, but okay.
      And no, I know what you meant, and content is still a gross term. It needs to be vacated from the public lexicon forever.
      I literally said it’s about the narrative and how they’d play it out (you, or they, whomever you’re watching). The only thing I’ll say further, is that I haven’t watched anyone play through a title for the battles. It’s entirely about them and the narrative within the narrative that always happens, the role-playing and comedy that comes from playing the rpg. That’s the value, from the TFS era right up into the GTZ era with Infinite Fusion. If that’s not for you, I don’t know why you’d bother watching GTZ or TFS or anyone else with personality.
      I think we’ll have to agree to disagree because we seem to be coming from different planets as far as this nonsense goes. The long and short of it is, I think this game and the videos of it are weak because there’s no meat to it, no world, no narrative value, and therefore less comedic potential. You think differently, not my problem, it is what it is. Like what you like. Best of luck to you.
