Congratulations on 10 years, Mark! Been keeping up with your channel since 2014-15 (dusted off my account to post this comment). I enjoy how consistent and analytical you are with every piece of media you review. Also pleasantly surprised you reviewed one of my favorite artists and an artist from my home country.
Speaking of country, I also wanted to thank you for being the spokesperson spotlighting all the underground talent happening in country music. I used to be very passive about this genre of music, but, through your reviews, I discovered a plethora of country music that is tender, divine, and intimate. I would have never heard of artists like Ruston Kelly, Caitlyn Smith, Wade Bowen, Emily Scott Robinson, Jason Isbell, Carly Pearce, Kaitlin Butts, and so many other underrated country acts without this channel. You are helping fill a void that UA-cam lacks right now: passionate reviewers who provide insightful content and thorough analysis. Hoping for more quality reviews and even more recognition for you!
Happy 10 years, Mark! I can't think of a critic on this site that I respect more than I respect you. Even when I disagree with you on something, you always have a fascinating and philosophical take! I hope that you keep doing this!
I can resonate in a very funny way with you, and not in an expected way. I am bilingual, and I have grown up with the Spanish language (specifically a very northern Mexican lexicon which is not far away from English once I learned English when I emigrated to the US. However, for a long ass time I unintentionally got away from my roots of Mexican art and music. Most if not all of the music I listened to since I started to be a music fan back in 8th grade was in English, and I had for some reason disdain for a lot of Latin music. Some of it made sense because going back to a lot of it made me realize my family didn't have a fucking idea of what they let me hear let alone sing. But nowadays I have "rescued" some of those old songs that I missed without knowing (for example, Eres Para Mi by Julieta Venegas which is one of the best songs of all time). I'm basically starting from level 1 which kinda puts me in a similar place like you in wanting to learn more and discover gems that you would not have checked if not for a little push in the right direction. Idunno if I'm rambling rn, but I just think its coincidentally funny.
A full decade of making videos on UA-cam. That is a MASSIVE AF feat. Congrats on 10 years, Mark.
Plus, you've certainly piqued my interest with this album. Sounds like something I'll enjoy a good amount.

Thank you for all the good times, Marc. I've been watching your videos since 2015, when I saw your review for The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind The Madness" and, since then, you've helped me find albums and artists I otherwise never would have given a chance to before then.
It's been fun watching tear into godawful albums, but it's just as fun, if not more so, watching you gush about something for which you care so much, on top of Billboard Breakdown being a great series to keep up with the latest in popular music.
And your most recent essays, my goodness! So much research and effort that's clearly been put into these videos and shows another side of your analytical approach to music and culture.

This one of my top albums last year. Just gorgeous stuff.
Not sure if you heard Silvana Estrada's 2022 release, Marchita, but it is just as good as Natalia's album, but with a bit more of a folk traditionalist vibe. Silvana has also collaborated with Natalia Lafourcade in the past.
