THANK YOU and BLESS YOU for not killing the snake like the majority of people would do. I, like most people, started off fearing snakes and thinking they must be killed; however when I was in elementary school (I think either the 4th or 5th grade) I chose snakes for an essay assignment. Well, I discovered that snakes have a very beneficial role in their ecosystem, and are not the monsters we're taught to believe they are. That report completely changed my viewpoint on snakes. From that day forward, I no longer harm them - venomous or not. I just encourage them to move along.
