These instructional videos you have been putting out is beyond everything else. It's next level. You have understood how to explain it in a way that a beginner can fully understand, and you leave nothing out. straight to the point Hat off to you sir
That light stand is a game changer I’ve been doing this set for a while with a speed light on the ground with a small speed light soft box and the speed light standing kit! Definitely have to get that light stand, thanks for the video!
Awesome, great video. I am new in to this and I would absolutely love to see a video where you break down all the simple setups Distance of the light from your subject, angle, etc.(With 1,2 lights) Thank you for the way you explain all the simple facts, you make it seem so easy. Greetings from Spain.
Lovely Vid as always Manny, But when are we gonna see shots of Brothers as well....Am sure there are some hunks you could guide us with some pauses 😁just saying🤷♀️
Hey Manny, I would love to see a video on tips on getting wide dramatic shots while on location like for engagement shoots. But all of your videos have been amazing!! Keep up the great work!
Manny, Thanks Great video... I have done that lighting setup for decades! It's the best "go to" lighting for beauty and glamour. Plus add a kicker and/or hair light.. sweet but not necessary
Manny thank you. I love your tutorials and I used this set up yesterday which also works wonderfully for mature skin. The shoot went really well and I was very happy with the results as was my client :)
Extremely helpful. I want to get back into studio and outside shooting and this was a great re-learn. I immediately subscribed and gave thumbs up. Thank you
This is such a good set up and is really flattering for just about anyone especially for 3/4 and closer. I usually use just a reflector for the fill but I really should break out another light sometimes too. Good stuff as usual buddy
NGL. I shot this setup WITHOUT this stand back in March and now have this stand. I’d never not have the stand. I shoot clamshell a lot for ports. Shots some stuff with Magmod’s new new and I wish I had this stand for that shoot.
Hey can you explain with this set up your using a continuous light set up, but they're attached to a flash trigger? Do you have an off camera flash or are these lights flashing at the time of shooting. Thanks man !
hi this is my first comment here , so can i ask for something please ? can you start tutorial about shooting wedding outdoor with different light setups please ?
super tuto ! just purchased the new godox QRP-90 parabolic for ad400pro. can it be used instead of westcott 36" ? can we use a ad300pro with 1x3 stripbox ? is 1x4 120cm length really better ?
Great tips and to the point 👏👏 Just an advise. Be careful the elbow pointing to camera with the perspective and compression looks the elbow attached to the upper body. Thanks 🙏
Beautiful lighting setup for young beautiful women I have not found it flattering for older people (women and men) Manny do you have samples with older less gorgeous people?
As a longtime, appreciative subscriber, I would also welcome some older portrait models (men/women/they). thank you for the effort and the sharing. and dontcha just LOVE the 85mm! thumbs up.
Love this set up, but I have a question. If I’m using this set up how do you recommend combating the dreaded white background turning grey without a separate direct light dedicated to the background (camera already with custom white balance set)?
Dear Mr Ortiz. Nice educative video again. Watched this video again and again. Where did you get that the mount attached to c stand that you use for the strip box.
Manny skinton on the face became more pleasant because of the power of the light, the reflector simply does not have enough to kill the light from the softbox , since it is very low for you, if you raised it higher almost close to the collarbones, the lighting and skinton were almost the same. The girl in the center where you show examples of 3 photos looks very overcooked in the picture. The photo with Diana looks the best of all. good pictures bro
now that i got my eyes fixed my ultimate goal in life is to go around and take amazing photos of beautiful women tho mostly those who have that natural beuaty who may never have had higher end photos done! wooo i think thats where a lot of photographers miss out on. they use like model mayham or hire models that have already been photographed a ton. instead of looking out for that photogenic woman out there who may not have had such photos done before lol but yeah great stuff. i just need the right assistant lol and then space to have a studio like that one day! yeah lol
Apologize if this has been asked already. Where did you get your backdrop holder you are using in this video? And do you have any recommendations on using paper backdrops vs muslin? I have been looking at muslin but don’t know who has good quality ones.
High quality content as always, straight to the point I love it. Question though, what about using the cheaper Speedlight for the secondary bottom light since I guess it doesn't require as much power as the key light and even less so considering the short distance? I've got a Godox AD400Pro which is pretty much the same flash but since I didn't want to get 2 at such price, I took 2 extra Godox V860 Speedlight for my secondaries. Pretty sure it would still be much better than a basic reflector.
lighting ratios mean you'll want about 1.5-2 stops less power for the fill. If you used the ad400 at full power, you would want a 100w light at full power (likely 200w). THe v860 might have a different colour to the ad400, I think the speedlights will be much more green. So that could cause issues too
For such "clamshell" setup i often see two other setups : a beauty dish 55cm white instead of 36" diffuser (whetever the bottom part eyelighter2, stripbox,...) and, whatever the top part, a 65cm softbox below instead of 120x30cm stripbox to make a "spot in iris" insead of a rectangle. Do you find your setup better ?
Manny! For your next lighting video, I would include a birds eye view diagram of your lighting set up. It helps those who maybe want to save that image for referencing when they are on set! Keep it up, king.
My studio photography has improved greatly, largely in part to what I’ve learned from your videos. Thanks for all your help.
He’s such a big help
@@NileSWPhotography
Do you know why he used a strip box instead of a smaller circular softbox to match? Just wondering?
The model is breathtakingly beautiful! The lighting truly flattered her, stopping you in your tracks.
Every time I watch your videos, I feel like I need to buy something new lol
I absolutely LOVE this direction you are taking the channel! So happy to have seen your photography grow into a studio. Thank you!
That model is stunning. Makes a big difference in your work.

Setup I’ve been using for a couple weeks now. I have this stand.
I never imaged a light stand you could attach a light on the bottom!
First seconds are priceless 🤣🤣🤣🤣. On a serious note, thanks for the video, great advices
That light stand is the photography version of the busker one-man-band, with an instrument or three on every limb!
Thanks, Manny! I've been a bit nervous to jump into studio work as a photographer, I really appreciate your videos!
Awesome instructor. I always try to see his videos when comes out. Happy Holidays everyone.
Awesome, great video.

I just found that stand last week. It will definitely be the one I buy when I'm ready.
Manny thank you. I love your tutorials and I used this set up yesterday which also works wonderfully for mature skin. The shoot went really well and I was very happy with the results as was my client :)
Can you try it for a full body photography..will love to see that..you doing amazingly well
Extremely helpful. I want to get back into studio and outside shooting and this was a great re-learn. I immediately subscribed and gave thumbs up. Thank you
Awesome! So which lighting goes in the softbox and which goes in the strip box? Thanks 😊
The intro 😂😂😂 love the video
Love that studio setup
How would this work for shooting male models Manny? Do a video on that and compare it to this video
Home girl is 😍😍😍! Nice video, too. 😁
Great informative video bro! I'm learning alot from watching your tutorials.
Saludos desde Puerto Rico. Siempre veo tus tutoriales son muy efectivos. Me gustaría saber el ratio que usaste entre ambos strobes, gracias.
This is such a good set up and is really flattering for just about anyone especially for 3/4 and closer. I usually use just a reflector for the fill but I really should break out another light sometimes too. Good stuff as usual buddy

simple and crazy good
NGL. I shot this setup WITHOUT this stand back in March and now have this stand. I’d never not have the stand. I shoot clamshell a lot for ports. Shots some stuff with Magmod’s new new and I wish I had this stand for that shoot.
Excellent idea. Thank you so much!
man where are you getting all these beautiful models bro??

Great job Manny!
Until I buy a second strobe is there a way to make this work with a speedlight?
amazing setup Manny as well as video , but for someone like me I could never afford this gear love your videos man

Thank you so much, I go try this
Great tips and to the point 👏👏 Just an advise. Be careful the elbow pointing to camera with the perspective and compression looks the elbow attached to the upper body. Thanks 🙏
Always love your videos from India😎😎😎😎
Thank you for this video!
i'm a little hesitant on that catch light of the bottom light looking like a white straight line in the eye. Any thoughts on that?
Thank you Manny ❤️

another one great tutorial. Thanks

In that case, you’d move the subject (and light) closer to the background
GREAT info . . . thank you very much !
Awesome video. I will try this setup. Thank you. Do you have any books on lighting setups and poses?
Thanks Manny.
How would you set this up with an 8' ceiling? Would you bounce flash off a white ceiling?
Great. Thanks for the tips
Dear Mr Ortiz.
Nice educative video again.
Watched this video again and again.
Where did you get that the mount attached to c stand that you use for the strip box.
I also have2 400 watts flahes but i noticed for 2 speed lights are more than good enough for indoors
That intro though 😂😂
Hiiii Manny, Please review Sony A9II for potrait photography and leave the sample image RAW a9ii and A1 in description :D Thank you so much
Amazing video!!
Good video Manny! Question: How to you control/ combat specular highlights to minimize work in Photoshop?
Manny, Great video 🎥 and are you using the Sony Alpha A1 camera during this session?
Great tips and enjoy ur vids Manny!!! even am very far to get her tho :) .
Like that أحبك tattoo on ur beautiful MODEL !
awesome

Yes sir!
Good contents always
Awesome.
Why is Sony so bad at white balance?

what about power ratio of the main umbrella and strip light below, please apologize me , thank you and greetings from indonesia
thank you for this video
Apologize if this has been asked already. Where did you get your backdrop holder you are using in this video? And do you have any recommendations on using paper backdrops vs muslin? I have been looking at muslin but don’t know who has good quality ones.
Dear Manny! Can I achieve similar results, using two speedlights instead of studio lights?
Why strip box? Why not a smaller circular softbox to match? Just wondering?
what lights are actually on in the video? The constant lights.
Great info 👍!!
Thanks! Your video its awsm!
How could you get full body pictures with that set up?
We dont have stand like this ... but damn thats good one.
What kind of other attachments you can think of which could help attach second light to the regular C STAND.
What if 1 round Profoto octa was used as key and 1 Profoto octa fill light on this c stand with Profoto B2's Would it be bright enough ?
High quality content as always, straight to the point I love it. Question though, what about using the cheaper Speedlight for the secondary bottom light since I guess it doesn't require as much power as the key light and even less so considering the short distance?

Now I'm gonna have to buy a second Manny 😑 thx a lot 😃
I have this exact stand

Hi Manny what’s the name of that stand?
is this the white or silver beauty dish?
Cool!
