this is absolutely lovely i will never understand why people would listen to rap or hip hop or country and call that music when this is so divine and intelligent minds created this beautiful art of sound and yet the world prefer stupid
I absolutely love classical music (see my playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLO2MtgVqtH8DaoDR08QKpo-ZvjXVboJLn.html). I used to feel the same way as you about rap, hip hop, and country until somebody pointed out that the element of interest in those isn't usually the melody, chords, or complexity-- in country, it might be the little crack in the singer's voice telling the listener, "I'm human, just like you! I'm letting you into my world of emotions" (see ua-cam.com/video/4WXYjm74WFI/v-deo.html). In hip hop, one might compare the goal to that of Shakespeare as they say something profound about life, but also, an interesting soundworld is not out of the question (see ua-cam.com/video/npcGql9Ir6Y/v-deo.html). This article from a music theory journal really increased my appreciation of rap by pointing out things to listen out for: www.mtosmt.org/issues/mto.09.15.5/mto.09.15.5.adams.html.
People can be different - very different - in what they find esthetically, emotionally or even spiritually attractive. Hence that ancient Roman shoulder-shrug. 'De gustibus non est disputandum'' - about taste, there's no rational argument. Just relax and enjoy what you do - and maybe even try to dip a little toe elsewhere!
Because rap, hip hop and country are all music and can have their moments of beauty and create a powerful emotional response in the listener, as hard as that may be for you to believe. It's like saying all you enjoy eating is italian food and you can't understand how people can enjoy indian, chinese or american food. People generally prefer whatever it is they were raised with, we don't really get to choose what music resonates with us. But some people with an open mind can enjoy baroque and classical just as much as hip hop and rap. You just have to dig a little deeper than the surface level and you will find true artists in every branch of music.
I love how this composer continues the old tradition. He deserves more recognition as a composer living in our generation
Thank you ! There are so few of you who think that...
Nice and soft, and a little sad but the opposite of sadness at the same time, with some rationality I feel.
In short, French :)
Great piece. You can tell this would be a fun score for melodic and harmonic analysis.
Very very beautiful video from this very very great Chanel
Un petit bijou de tendresse...
Great! Nice final resolution. Thanks!
