YOACAP Violence Reduction Program

The YOACAP Violence Reduction Program offers young men aged 14 to 24 options. Youth are referred into the program the Sharp Insight Barbers. The barbers mentor them, have group meetings to share their experiences, and show the participants that Black men care about and love young black teens. Teens have good examples from older men living in their communities. Our teens learn how to manage their emotions and gain knowledge about financial responsibility while earning a monthly incentive. Youth receive workforce development training through YOACAP's VIP program funded by the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) and can intern or work with a YOACAP partner.
