I’ve reloaded for over 25 years, for the consistency at the range, it used to be a lot cheaper than buying factory rounds and overall satisfaction. This guy does everything right and efficient. Great educational video for those getting into loading. I enjoyed watching this. Why the hell would anybody give this a thumbs down??

I appreciate the slow and methodical way you explain the reloading process. It shows you have the true heart of a teacher and your maturity. So many in this industry seemingly make videos to show how smart they are and pump up their egos. There are way too many of those videos. I find your teaching very valuable and having taken a stab at making a few videos of my own, I realize how time consuming it is. Thank you. You have my gratitude.

It's a good video but he fails to tell new loaders to get a manual and read it then read it again. It's not a problem but he also uses two steps to seat the bullet and crimp it which can be done in one step if you know how to use your dies. The instructions that come with the dies tell you how to do it. Rimless cases can be touchy if they are not exactly the right overall length and bullet shape. Loading ramp problems can occur.

EXCELLENT INSTRUCTION ON BASIC SKILLS AND WISDOM. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE
PUTTING UP ROUNDS FOR FUTURE BE SURE TO MONITOR AMBIENT HUMIDITY WITH
HYGROMETER WHILE DOING IT. YOU CAN REDUCE HUMIDITY WITH AIR
CONDITIONING. SEAL WITH WATER RESISTANT COATING. THIS IS DEFINITELY
ONE OF THE BEST 101 OR REFRESHER COURSES ON THE WEB. I DON'T RELOAD
THESE DAYS BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE STARTING.

Your explanation of the process, options and variations has convinced me that this is something I can do for the three calibers I own and shoot. EXCELLENT tutorial my friend...I've been reloading sine 1974..wish I had this when I began.. I'm completely self taught...started with an RCBS Rockchucker that I bought in 1972 from the post Rod and Gun club in Illesheim Germany...starting on a single stage is the best way to learn each step..I graduated to a progressive in the late 80s...so much quicker when you're loading a few hundred cases at a time...Love Lee dies..great value for the money...including the FCD..I still have that Rockchucker AND the scale I got the 'Ammo Crafters'kit...also sold by RCBS...a Ohaus micrometer adjustable scale no longer sold by RCBS...that I'm aware of...again...EXCELLENT...

Anyone who is new to reloading needs to watch your reloading videos. Really, I watch everyone's and yours are fantastic. The camera angles and the explanations are very helpful. The old video you did with .38 special on the Lee C style single stage is one of the most helpful videos on youtube. I appreciate your work and time. I like taking my time and being careful. You got me understanding the process before I started and now mine is very similar to yours. I don't think I would have been confident to start if it was not for your explanations and teaching style in the older videos. This is another great one (I realize it is old footage). Haven't reloaded in 20 years, but this is how I do it on my own single stage Rockchucker. The attention to detail should not be overlooked. I've had friends who got overconfident reloading and started doing it while drinking a couple of beers. That lead to empty charges with the bullet being lodged part way into the barrel, or double charged cases resulting in explosions that ruined a gun and almost ruined some eyes. Good job explaining the details.

My friends are always saying I put too much into my explanations when I tell them how to do something, it's always get on with it, come on, come on. Then when they come back and say "How did you say to do that?" I say "Come on, will you get on with it?" What you did is exactly what I would've done. There's no need to ask questions, or go back because you covered all the bases. Absolutely GREAT! I think I may start reloading my 9mm's myself. Between what you gave me and Hickok's info on equipment I'm gonna be saving a lot! I'm not going to be paying $45 to $60 bucks a box anymore. Thanks JJ. Doc Wayne

I just have to cringe when someone uses the wrong hand tool. When he uses a pair of channel locks on the lock nut of the die it makes my butt pucker!
Why not use a pair of pliers?
I know he is not using a lot of torque, but, why not use an open end wrench of proper size or even a crescent would be preferable to channel locks! Use the proper tool for the job!!

For beginners a very informative video. It answers many questions. But as you progress your own styles develop staying within good practice. Myself i use a Hornady turret press with Hornady dies mainly. I reload 7 calibers and there are some changes i apply to this shown process. A) I decap before I tumble so primer pocket get cleaned too. Checking no media is stuck in flash hole after. The cases are sized so next i prime. This is the only time i use it as a single stage process.
Then i finish the process thus; 1st die is to flair. 2nd die is to throw powder. 3 die is a 'powder cop'. This is a visual indicator die of a thrown powder with a indicator ring showing in a pin. Next stage empty as i load the head. Last stage is the seating and I do crimp at the same time. I personally use a seating micrometer unit (interchangable with other dies) as its more finite. The finished bullet self ejects at this point with the next pull. Every 10th round i check powder weight and OAL. I Hope that helps readers. All my data is printed on excel sheet and i keep a load log to log date/ deviations from load data and rounds made. BTW... a good and cheap cleaning medium is brake cleaner to degrease. Also, be careful not to get lubricants IN the case, as a squib may develop with contaminated propellant. My advice... watch as many videos on loading as possible as much can be ascertained from different loaders styles/knowledge.
Be diligent. Dont get distracted... be safe.

Great job. That video was very informative and probably the most well done overall instructional video I have ever seen, hands down. This gentleman shows you every step of the reloading process, does not go off into unrelated tangents, stays on course and explains everything so methodically and at just the right pace so the material never goes over the viewers head and he never loses the viewers attention. Thank you for taking the time to teach the rest of us how this is done.

Well done. This is the second video of yours I have watched and I believe your videos are the best I have seen. You are the most thorough teacher I have encountered since my college days. You take the time to describe what you are doing completely and then you visually demonstrate and often demonstrate again. Excellent work. I'm sure there are many questions that might come up as I'm doing my own first batch but I feel you have already answered most questions I might have while going through the process of doing it in the video. Seriously, This video was top notch and you are a much better teacher than most of the college professors I had in college. I think if they had been as thorough and taken the time to demonstrate every step of the process as you did I might have had a better GPA and stayed more attentive. Well, the main distraction was all the beautiful girls, I was 19 or 20 and my hormones were very active. So, you couldn't have helped with that distraction. 😊 Anyway, This was an excellent video. I look forward to seeing what other videos you have. Thanks for your hard work in putting this together.

I started watching this video many months ago and must have gotten distracted, and didn't get through the first 5 minutes of it. I did not realize it was the same one this time and watched again all the way though. I'm new to reloading but I've been a sponge for the past 6 months. This video is excellent! Very well done. Not to shame any others who are out there only attempting to help teach the process, but it is very refreshing to see someone who knows how to do it right. A picture is worth a thousand words. A Video must be worth much more. Thanks for the time spent to present a well done and helpful video.. Literally gave me the confidence to go load the bunch of 9mm components I have acquired since.

I have been reloading off and on for 3 years now, and I tell ya this video was worth watching. I have a lock and load AP but I tell ya it is unnerving sometimes about powder charges, I,m finding it better to do single stage loading and yes please take time to watch powder levels. I actually am so particular I actually took one position on the AP press and put a powder cop there. I rather not have a primer over not enough powder or to much powder.

I’ve got an AP as well, Check your powder throws multiple times (I do 10) before starting the reloading process, as well as a random test every X number of rounds. I’ve gotten really consistent measures.

Great video brother. Very thorough, very specific, and more importantly, you've made it understandable to the layman. I'm a bit of a gun nut, spend a lot of time on my range, with all my guns; but have been nervous to use reloads over the years. I understand that some guns just don't like them, but learning which of your guns will or won't, is easy enough to learn. I've been juggling the idea of reloading, for a few months; just for the potential therapeutic value alone, has pushed me closer to going through with it. I appreciate this video, thank you.

Just a suggestion regarding the case flaring die adjustment. I don't know what the Lee instructions are, but my RCBS and Redding dies instructions have you set a case in the shell holder and raise the ram to the highest point, and then screw the die in until it makes contact with the mouth of the case. Probably the same you are doing, just seems that having the case in the shell holder gets you to the ballpark sooner. Just my .02

I almost never post or write anything on the internet but I'm so impressed by this video that I wanted to not only congratulate JIUJITSU2000 on his knowledge but also his ability to teach the knowledge in this video, in such an outstanding and educational way constantly calling attention to safety and the necessity of building habits to maintain focus and caution. I want to go on record highly recommending and encouraging all the new reloaders watching video to watch it a couple times and keep it as a copy to fall back on as a reference source. I have reloaded and shoot benchrest completion, IPSC, and was Captain of my military shooting team in Hawaii. I started reloading in 1973. I have shoot and reloaded tens of thousands of rounds, I have taught people to reload from A to Z, and I teach shooting classes in hand gun an rifle. You could not have started your reloading journey at a better place. In time you will tweak your method to your own likings but for now watch this video, good luck, and welcome to reloading. Outstanding video.

A great tutorial with a great explanation and the process explained step by step even giving the alternative approach to doing the same thing by saving time like 1 load for belling and seating primer or as described near the end the bullet seating and crimping in one go. Excellent work, and guys please don't go looking for what's wrong, you don't have the patience, time, equipment or intent of doing this, please appreciate the person who has made an effort and it is quite an effort to put this together and up here.

One minor variation I'd suggest on the priming/flaring/powder charge portion. Instead of flaring first, prime the case first, then flare the case, then load the powder. You don't flip out primers that way.

    Great job.
Like others say, empty ammo shelves, gouging prices, and scarcity of reloading components prompts many to start single loading. Because, these scarce days of ammo, there is no trickle-down raining of left over ammo from the overflowing hands of ammo grabbing elitist. Too often, the supply chain gets interrupted before the poor sucker that wants to buy one or two boxes. I had ammo sales counter guy say, “the truck came this morning, but the last boxers were sold a couple of hours ago.” The same shit happened with toilet paper, sanitizer, and red meat. Perception says, these days it’s not about Second Amendment brotherhood, sticking together to fight those who dare take away our rights to keep and bear arms, or fighting legislation--it’s about profit, greed, and something ugly. Thanks for posting.
