Hobby Lobby needs to stick with what works - Arts & Crafts and home decor. Love the "old Hobby Lobby"
At first I was not a fan, but as long as they are still selling the florals and home decor, I will still go. I guess I think of it as a little something for everybody with the expansion of product, and I was actuallly conveniently able to find a set of beautiful waterglasses, as a gift for a friend, from their kitchen collection.
I will continue for their stems for sure too! Thanks for watching

I agree Hannah, not a fan. When I go to HL it’s for home decor or their florals. If I wanted towels or plastic dishes I’d go to Target. Great job shedding light on why it now looks and feels like a totally different store.
I deplore the idea of Hobby Lobby selling anything other than home decor and crafts. I hope they get out of that mode quickly.

I agree with you about HL. When I went to HL a couple week ago I walked out just as fast as I walked in. It really has changed and I don’t like it.
I enjoyed Hobby Lobby the way it was.
I always like their displays of the use of decor items. It gave me inspiration and ideas
I agree with you. I like Hobby Lobby as a craft and home decor store not Bed Bath and beyond products. They should have donated all that to the homeless. They could sure use it.
I feel totally loss. I agree with everyone's comments. I myself never shopped at B.B.B. I sure do miss the decor and just the way your felt going into the store. VERY DIFFERENT NOT! I go to Hobby Lobby because I love their decor, florals, and craft items!!! I have never been a big BBB fan, and it seems others agree, BBB is bankrupt! I say do what you do best, and at Hobby Lobby it’s should not be sheets, plastic containers, and baby items 😮
I absolutely do not like the new direction that they have taken. I saw the change months ago and mentioned to clerks and they suggested that I write in my comments on their website so it gets to the right people. I shopped there weekly but all I see in middle isles are kitchenware and items that don’t belong in Hobby Lobby. I have taken them off my weekly shopping and looking for more home decor stores. So sad,see this happening to all my favorite stores😔

I also was disappointed that middle isles have no more home decor but kitchen items. Before middle isles were nicely styled by themes and colors of home decor.
I was in Hobby Lobby in northeast Arkansas over the weekend and saw lots of bedding, small appliances, rugs, and even licensed character t-shirts. The spring/summer collection seemed to be smaller than in previous years. There were also “themed” sections for kitchen items (such as bees, gnomes, or mushrooms) that consisted of utensils, plates, placemats, hand towels, etc. Lamps are “always 50% off now. Ours already had quite a bit of fall merchandise out and they were steadily putting out Christmas items while I was there. I am not a huge fan of the new changes…
It’s so ridiculous that each year, seasonal and Christmas decor keeps coming out earlier. It’s not even the official start of summer, and Christmas decor is being put out! The only thing that does is create holiday fatigue. What kind of a marketing technique is it to take the joy out of it by introducing it so early in the year?

Hi, Hannah! Love your spotlight video on Hobby Lobby (HL) - very informative! I am interested to learn about HL beginning to sell linens and expand their home goods offerings, if I dare use that phrase. 😉 If you have been visiting Hobby Lobby for a few years, you may have noticed fun-shaped waffle makers, lava lamps and some out-of-the-box items for HL sneaking onto their shelves for sale. 🤷🏻♀️ We have had to purchase some last minute gift exchange items over the years for our sons' activities. Hobby Lobby has definitely been the place for crafting, makers and lovers of faux flowers/plants. I can't blame this company for trying to break into other markets due to the challenging economy. Perhaps their business plan is to try to give Target and Walmart a run for their money. 🤷🏻♀️ Regardless of their motives, I am all for free enterprise, risk taking and supporting our ever decreasing brick-and-mortars. These are just my simple and personal thoughts. Blessings and love to you all. ❤😘

I am so glad you shared this as I had no idea this change had occurred. What a shame. I wonder why BB&B didn't roll all this surplus into Overstock? I wish HL had stayed true to itself. As always, another excellent share from you!!
I’m not sure. I don’t know the nitty gritty. I’m curious how this direction will go for them. Someone made a good point that they are trying to possibly compete with Walmart and Target.?!? Just wish it would stay home decor and hobby type items ….
Hey hi. So I had to run over to our local hobby lobby today. Omggggg. I approached a few ladies I’ve come to know as a customer and said oh my gosh what’s happened. I think they have been trained to say certain things but I’ve become close to one of the employees. I said unbelievable. I think it is a major mistake and if they change certain things they will not only lose myself as a customer but many others as well.

Yes, I agree this is a strange product shift. In my town, we have a Hobby Lobby and right across the street a Walmart Super Center. The Wmart is where I would normally go to find those home products Hobby Lobby is now offering. They really should stay in their lane. Everyone seems to love Hobby Lobby, so I wonder what financial factors drove them to expand in this direction. Were sales down? Did market research tell them this is a direction they needed to take? Hmmm.
I have no idea! I still have a ton of questions … but like you said, HL would not be my first choice of place to go shop for essentials like sheets, towels etc. I think they should leave that to other department stores to do.

I was very disappointed during my visit over Mother’s Day weekend and walked around in a daze. Nothing caught my eye that was new or interesting. My store is in Scottsdale AZ and usually very much fun to walk around and find unique decor, not this time. I walked out with no purchases.
I feel this too. I usually walk out empty handed. It might be a store I shop for stems and that’s it. 😏
I didn’t know hobby lobby had changed anything until watching your video. Now you’re also keeping me up to date on current events. lol. I’ll have to go and see what I think. Hobby lobby to me is you have to search to find the gems. Too much cutesy stuff for me. Thanks for the great info and another great video.
👋🏼 girl I don’t shop there often but I do like their vases and floral. I did pick up the anthro pot dupe and a round dome butter dish that looks identical to one that was sold on McGee & CO. We’ll see what Fall & Christmas brings!

I couldn’t get to HL fast enough to get the Pottery Barn dupe basket! There were only 2 on the top shelf! Imagine my surprise when I discovered there was no bottom to the basket! 😂. I got it anyway and I love it!! Thanks for shopping for us! ❤
Definitely do not care for the new products. I go for home decor and crafts. The more and more they bring this other stuff in, the less room they have for the decor and craft supplies. Just a matter of time. Thanks for shedding light on the reason all that other stuff is taking over!

Hadn't been to Hobby since last fall. I knew they had bought the bulk of BB&B stock. I had viewed a couple of other UA-cam's HL tours but was still surprised and disappointed in the direction they are going. The whole atmosphere has changed. It it sort of a cross of Target and Dollar General ( without the low prices). I hope HL does some market research to see how their customers are feeling about the changes.

Just wntd to thank you for showing the art piece (@ 7:33) w/the bouquet in the vase! Idk how many ppl have mass produced art that speaks to them, but this one definitely did speak to me for some reason. I couldn't stop thinking about it after I watched your video, so I ended up buying it! I ordered it online, since I couldnt get to the store. Got it today & It's absolutely beautiful! I love it! Been subscribed for a short time but watched a lot of your videos before that & I truly enjoy! And I love your design style! Look forward to seeing more!

When I saw all these new products at Hobby Lobby … my first thought was thinking that they were using the Bed Bath and Beyond products as a test run to see if they can go up against Wal Mart.
For example, Walmart is getting into some more decor and also some furniture especially when they’re Juliet art cabinet went viral and I’m thinking maybe Hobby lobby is thinking maybe they could compete with all the housewares.
….maybe this was a test run. I don’t know that was just my first thought.
They may see how the numbers go and if it does well they may continue those products but if it doesn’t, they may drop the lines after they sell through.
Anyways, just my thoughts on the new home products

I only purchase my bedding at Dillards. It’s called Noble Excellence. I have 6 sets of king , sateen, percale, cotton. They last for years and are quality.
A few years ago a store that sold artificial flowers closed as she retired. My husband urged me to purchase quite a bit. I’ve never even purchased flowers at Hobby Lobby. I think it’s because they aren’t open on Sundays and it reminds me of Walmart. I don’t shop there either. I do shop Homegoods but most of my decorative pieces are those I inherited or bought at estate sales.
I love it …I love hobby lobby! ….Why Not?…my one shop stop! …thank you hobby lobby!..

Not a fan of the new categories. However, I did love what you showed in their wall art (looked similar to some Uttermost items), and I’m pleasantly surprised the prices were pretty good. Usually I scope the place out, see what I want, then keep checking when that category goes on sale to bring it to a normal price. Thank you for saving me a trip!

Thanks for researching the rebranding. I've been so confused going in there! I have mixed feelings about the rebranding. There are some great new products but I miss the old set up.

Well it’s interesting nit all my vibe and as long as they have floor space I say fine. Just ensure you keep your current inventory updated and refreshed it’s fine.

Haven’t been in HL for almost a year, but this makes me want to go check it out. Sounds like it’s a very strange mix of items.
I like the yellow, white and black, lemon themed items for outdoor gatherings. I wouldn't use it inside, but it's perfect for warm weather outdoor parties.

As a 9 year employee it been ALOT of work and exciting to see the new stuff.. It is selling good so I expect a lot of it will stay for awhile. As with everything there if sells aren’t there it will be replaced they are trying to make money after all..And those bee and lemon themed things I can’t keep stocked I’m not into it either but I guess a lot are. The rugs are great prices at 50%off. I heard the kitchen stuff will not go on sell at all. The towels do go on sell. I bought some last year when they had them in the spring shop and they are still holding on great. I hadn’t seen that black vase yet I will be getting that one thanks.

My Hobby Lobby this summer has removed all of their home decor like vases etc and put in kitchen items. I dont go there for kitchen items etc. I really hate the direction they are going. So disappointed.

I really enjoyed some of your picks. I really don’t care for the new stuff that they brought in from bed Bath and beyond. I feel like some of their new things that they’re bringing in a really upscale but all that is just Samo Samo.
Hobby Lobby seems to be in a rut! They have had the same basic decor vases, pictures, etc. for over 18 months now! I think they better step up their game because I would rather go to Walmart at this point for decor! I do however, like HL florals.
Great video. I'm not a fan of the new products hobby lobby is selling and at my store at least they seem to be carrying less of a variety of seasonal products decor and crafts. I've been pretty dissatisfied with the store overall my last few visits.

Not really sure what to think about the Bath and bed additions. I suppose if you are looking for it and it is at a lower price, that would be a good thing. Eventually, would they sale out of that inventory or would they continue to stock those type of items? Only time and profit would tell.

We don’t have a hobby lobby close to where we live. When ever we go out of town, it’s always on my to do list. So I was shocked when you said this. I can’t give an opinion in my feelings about shopping the store with the products as I clearly had no idea. My personal thoughts are “no! Why?” I feel like it takes away from what hobby lobby is known for. The floor space could be utilized for their known products, not the randoms stuff. Oh well.

I agree! I go to HL for home decor not for shower curtains. We will see what happens with the direction they are going with this new product.

I go to Hobby lobby to buy home decor and craft supplies. I definitely do not like the change of them selling everything else like bedsheets, comforters, hand, washcloth, shower curtains. The next thing they will be selling is paper towels, and toilet paper!! 😢

@@Hannah_naylor_I too went there on Tuesday and my store had a lot of bare shelves. The Fall and Christmas were in a few isles. I personally think they’re going to unload BBB then do holiday decor and depending on how the BBB stuff went decide what direction they’re going to next. It just feels strange seeing the store changed. I don’t like all the themed or all the signage they keep on putting out. Just really hope they have new decor for holidays! Take care.❤

What happens when all the b b and b items are sold off? I like Hobby Lobby the way it originally was.
The last 2 trips I made, I bought absolutely nothing. It is not the same store. It's giving me Big Lot vibes. Bed Bath & Beyond never sold toys. For me the disappointment started with marking same items with various prices. I bought a garland. One was marked $14.99, another $24.99 and yet a third was marked $34.99 (all identical, same brand, same UPC code...that's a $20 difference!!! This CEO's got to go. There's no excuse for this. I see business dropping rapidly. They need to remove "Hobby" from their name, if they're selling boxed sets of furniture, dishes, toys and bed linens. They've quadrupled holiday decor aisles, but it's not more, it's just spread out more and it's the type I'm not interested in. The kitchenware aisle they had with placemats, napkin rings, cutting boards, etc was completely eliminated. Stepping off of soapbox now. 🤭

It looks like they are going out of business at my store. In the past, I could never walk out without spending at least $50 at a time. And then come back a few days later and spend more. But for the last year, I have hardly spent anything! I need my therapy place back. lol
I feel you on this! I’ve definitely felt I leave empty handed more than not. I was just in there and they finally have some new beautiful “fall” stems ….. that could be used year round. I was excited to see something different!

I really don't care for all the BB&B items. It just seems out of place. I love the old HL for home decor or florals. I, however, loved the skinny bench and the vases. HL will always be my go to for candleholders. I am a big on neutral so the themes, I tend to walk on by. I haven't been to HL in awhile..I guess its times for me to go and check ours out.

Where did you find the minka dupe vase? I checked the vase section and pretty much looked every where in the store and the sales people there had no idea either.
I found it in the pots by where the stems are. At least for my store, they relocated all of them to be closer to the stem department
Hanna I use to go to HL every week! I loved it… that is past tense! Not a fan, haven’t been for over a month & I have no interest. I have heard that about them absorbing BB & B.
