I have a large 12-inch marbled goby that looks just like this little guy. I've had him for two years and it looks like he's full grown. He will only eat live Canadian nightcrawlers. Sometimes he will go a week without eating.
That’s so cool! Mine is around 6 inches now but still very picky. Definitely stunted. 😭
i have tried tirelessly to catch one at my local river. interesting share, on up brotha
Thank you bro! They’re native there? Must have been released at some point. Good eatin’!
I had no idea that fishes could be such picky eaters! I thought it only applies to dogs and cats. lol. Next thing you know, he only wants to eat free range organic food!
I feed mine with earthworm and smaller live fish. it been growing 1 inch per month. maybe the enviroment is probably not suitable for your fish as in the wild it stay in slow current water. One more thing, it the temperature i guess. Mable goby is native to my place, Malaysia
Thanks for the insight, bro. I keep it at 78 F, maybe that slowed its growth rate. It now eats bay shrimp so maybe the variety will help it too!
Marble goby fish eat fresh live small fish and small shrimp only.... until it getting bigger.
@@TheFishBeast because it is carnivore fish.... they like something moving around them, and prey in surprise.
That is crazy how it will come eat out of your hand. My guy is like the troll under the bridge. I have never seen him voluntarily come out in the daytime or with lights on. He eats a large prawn once a week and is content to hang out under a root ornament with a galaxy pleco that he could eat anytime he wanted to for the past 2+ years.
I’ve been lucky that he comes up to feed like this… but now he’s bigger and harder to excite! Still won’t eat pellets though 🥲 your goby is so chill!
