There does seem to be huge change in vibes towards the police with great public support & sympathy for officers. This new Govt too giving police much more respect, value & support & can almost see it boosting morale in days. Last Tory Govt were politicising forces & constantly criticising & attacking them publicly as well as cutting resources which also affects their public profile & respect. Sir Tom does a great job articulating the issues. Hope Govt & police keep the momentum & deal with street crime & shoplifting next, it’s reaching towards an epidemic. Fine, now imagine you have a blog Mr Winsor, which has a comments section. It gets enormously popular, there are millions of comments - according to your reasoning you personally are responsible for what is said in each one of those comments, correct? I think social media are in a bit of a grey zone. Yes I agree they should have _some_ degree of responsibility to control content, but they are not _responsible_ for that content. That's like saying eBay is responsible for each and every item sold on the platform. Amazon I would say is different, because they also are a _seller_ themselves, so they have a higher degree of responsibility. A media company - newspaper or news - obviously has full responsibility since they create all the content. This isn't hard.
Unfortunately, this guest comments are trending dangerously close to the incitement of violence, a serious crime punishable by jail. An investigation at minimum must be launched, preferably a preemptive arrest.

@@joso7228 Apparently so, its rather odd though that the CPS never even informed him or made its way up to his office the case had been dropped, an investigation I believe after his death was done, like I said outright really had the police handled the cases better he may have been prosecuted, convicted and then sentenced. Its one of the things that really makes me sick to my stomach personally.
I mean I wasn't abused myself and don't know anyone personally who has been, but I am a somewhat patient in a hospital where he abused people in, rather as the dept moved from there to another hospital that I get treated in for a long term condition I only went there maybe twice or three times a year for no longer than 5 days a year (if that really).

I hate to break this to so many of you. They cracked down on the right harshly multiple times. In fact people were banned. What did it do? It grew the numbers who supported these people. Sir Tom Winsor makes a valid and an otherwise interesting observation when he references these mob riots as different from previous violent demonstrations here in the UK. In previous instances governments have found accused of highly partisan malevolence - witness a concerted 'Thatcherite' political agenda coupled with a still then somewhat set of underhand policing tactics (military battle style 'kettling') in places like Orgreave during the Miner's strikes dating from the mid 1980s. Today, the reputation of our police forces is most certainly warm and strong with individual officers finding as members, and as a often strong leaders, amidst our local communities. Police deliver outreach and appreciate when we as ordinary citizens reciprocate in this same warm and friendly register.
So perhaps what is different this time finds with what our most recent and now departed government has NOT done. A general perception and legitimate charge is that our most recent former government has been unable to assert control and authority against illegal immigration here into the UK. The dissemblance between party political pledges and the statistics in terms of what has taken place most objectively supports this contention. The argument proceeds, and really by sheer weight of numbers, that small numbers of undesirable foreign nationals - particularly the younger ones with acute psychological traumas - are being allowed to filter out onto our streets and into our communities unchecked to present menace and danger. 'Enough is enough' the cry goes and more particularly when we reflect to register just how much care and attention to detail we deliver into caring for and safeguarding our 'home grown' varieties and this with what is taken as three nines (99.9%) in terms of success. Our mainstream media properly reflects to report this species of concern. So, and in significant measure, all this perhaps has less to do with issues of race or creed and more to do with perceived UK government non feasance, impotence and incompetence. In short, England (the UK) expects from Starmer the self same robust approach to migration control as his government control and authority has most handsomely demonstrated when it comes to confronting mob violence and riot control. We need imaginative and otherwise reasonable fair and safe solutions for all stakeholders in this and we need them right now.

I’m an American, and I can say, Elon has been awful for my country. He is a divisive figure, who spreads misinformation regularly. He came to my country from South Africa via Canada, and I wish he would go back to his country.
