Danielle German a lot of trucker's and bus driver's always go unnoticed but nobody realky thinks about how they get their clothes or food or even think about how the artist's and band's get from point A to point B. thanks for putting us trucker's out in the forefront.
Cole does that because his grateful and has a big heart for everyone that comes in 'contact with him ....you can't find that hardly in a man like Cole his awesome. . love him,,,,
~here's to the bus drivers, bus drivers, here's to the bus drivers ~ They play one of the most important parts in the band. They get our favorite bands from place to place safely, happy and sound. They should always get some kind of shout out. Thanks to all band drivers!!!
Thank you so much Andy Vest, John Conti, and Dan Riley for your safe driving of the band and equipment! Your jobs are difficult because y'all have to drive on a variety of terrains and in all types of weather! And Congratulations Cole for your upcoming performance on ACM Honors later this month!
I wished that I could go out on tour with a major recording artist. I have toured with small country bands, but we only traveled in a van, pulling a hauling trailer or we woul take our own vehicles to travel to our destination. I miss being on the road with a band.
Back in 1996-ish Toby Keith played in a bar in Redding Ca, I was going to school, was a single parent with two kids and was doing freelance articles trying to make ends meet. Anywho....... I went to interview Toby and he was great, very easy going and patient, after the interview he asked me if I was coming back to see the show, I said i'd try if I could get a sitter. "He's a good man..." someone said behind me, I turned and it was the bus driver, we started talking and after about an hour of talking and laughing I find out he's Joe Diffie's dad Joe which starts another interesting conversation. One of the band members brings us water , much needed by that time.. and he starts talking, then there's like 5 of them telling stories and joking, it was hella fun. Someone says something and they all start moving toward the bus and going in, I wave and say goodbye i'll try to make it back for the show. And Toby pops his head out of the bus and says "Hey, Aren't you coming in to see it? We just got my video back "Does that Blue Moon ever shine on you?" none of us has seen it yet, so c'mon. They pushed the VHS in and we all watched it. It was unanimous, we loved it. I came back later for the show, it was great! We got a chance to visit after the show too. They were going out to visit with Merle Haggard at his place in Silverthorn Resort on Lake Shasta the next day and invited me to come listen and hang out. I said I'd love to but had already spent too much time away from my kids, thanked them for the offer, went home and wrote my article. I submitted it but it wasn't published, lol, it was probably too long like now. Besides meeting Toby and the band which was really fun, I think my favorite part of the afternoon was talking with Joe and all the stories he had. You can always tell who a person really is by the way he treats the people who work with him.
This is awesome that Cole is recognizing his bus drivers. Most people wouldn't even do that. I love this!

Cole is probably one of the only guys that really gets it. His drivers are lucky to have a guy like him. Keep it up
