Followers usually peddle an independent New Vegas, but lack the foresight that if NCR is pushed out of the picture, all areas that the NCR had some control over would be overrun with gangs, raiders, and tribes that were previously held at bay. I wish the choice to convince them was a little more nuanced to make them realize an independent Vegas was bad for everyone in the long run, but we take what we're given. At least they have one good ending.
had no idea you could do this, I just started the hoover dam quest right after "you'll know when it happens". I got the bad ending for the followers and that was the last straw that made me swear not to ever side with NCR again.
Honestly them not siding with the NCR is just bizarre, what do they want to happen? The Legion to win? Tbh they deserve to be kicked out if they pull that stunt
@@twinzzlers the followers have already given so much to the NCR, much of their intellectual elite probably came from the follower's university not to mention all the doctors and stuff. iirc the followers did cooperate with NCR in the mojave campaign at the beginning, but became disillusioned when they realized what were their goals. they definitely don't oppose the NCR winning, they just don't want to be accomplices to a landgrab for draining resources rather than looking after the common wastelander. I do think the followers are a bit naive and it makes sense that they arent a faction with a "real" influence to the battle of hoover dam and the mojave as a whole, but i admire their dedication nonetheless and NCR's attitude towards them (if they don't help their imperialistic campaign) is honestly disgusting.
@@twinzzlers (Replied yesterday but it seems it didn't post for some reason) The Followers have already given so much to the NCR, they have their university to thank for educating their doctors, scientists and intellectual elite. I think they even aided the NCR initially in their Mojave campaign, but went their separate ways as they came to realize NCR's imperialist ambitions and resource "acquisition" plans that do not benefit the common wastelander. The followers are a bit naive and this stops them from being a more active participant in the fate of the Mojave, but I really admire their selflessness and sense of humanity. If anything, I think they could only function as the charity they are only if they stay decoupled from the power structure (i.e. if they relinquish all political power), lest they attract more politically inclined "go-getters" that would twist the organization into something they aren't. The fact NCR immediately punishes anyone who does not completely bend over to them, even if they're just minding their own business, is disgusting. Even the Legion (which the followers don't approve of either) under Caesar treats the Followers better than that.
Can't believe I've never noticed this
Same! Usually your dealings with the followers are all wrapped up and you wouldn’t think to come back as you go later in the gayme

"What's up? :D"
Never knew there was a followers safehouse
I usually play it like this! In my head cannon it makes the most sense.
