    Incredible images, track looks so hard, most of the athletes crashing show that us mortals couldn't even walk the trail, imagine riding a full DH 29er. Riding skills are insane, body english at his best. What a beautiful sport Downhill is!

      Its showing that the course on this condition is dangerous and is probably one of the reason the riders are unionizing.

      @@badwrong6362 i dont see any riders complaining about it tho. Dh is dangerous and thats common knowledge i dont think any rides of this level will be disappointed by a more difficult track

      @@ApostolosK06 Safety came up everytime the riders were interviewed about their union and the upcoming Discovery take over. I don't remember what part of what track was it, but some riders were saying they need a voice the union provides to avoid similar sketchiness in the future. Probably not in this track but it is a growing concern among the riders.

      This track is on the mellow side… mud is tricky and dangerous anywhere and can’t really be avoided. Biggest danger in this course is the straight shoot with tons of pads on the side

      The double drop, and the next turn, and the steep bit following it into the woods and that right-hand sloppy mess of a berm. Red Bull should just have 4 or 5 cameras for that whole section.

    When I started riding 15 years ago I had Specialized Big Hit. Coil damper worked in a way that after landing it would throw your tail back in the air when the coil decompressed and I often ended up going over the bars. Its amazing how suspension work nowadays. And with equipement we can buy now, riding dh/enduro became so much safier. I cannot express how much respect I have for engieneers.

It's nothing new and it's exactly what the racers signed up yo get along with races in good weather as well. I've raced in the UK in worse conditions, the race had to get called off because of lightning and me and loads of others were gutted, we'd have happily carried on.

      Yes, Downhill has an impact like many other outdoor sports and other human activities such as mining, deforestation... In the case of Downhill, I believe that there is a whole study of land management so that it is compensated in some way that does not cause so much damage. To think that just walking on a trail has an impact, we will not touch nature. I don't like motocross doing 2 meter grooves on the trail and some other sports that cause impact but I respect each one, it's up to Organs environmental agencies to decide whether or not to have the event on a certain trail. I think you don't like MTB, OK respect everyone.

    • @Finnspin_unicycles
      @Finnspin_unicycles 2 роки тому

      @@stonewp Of course it does. I think it's absolutely fine to accept that for a worldcup (as it's limited to one weekend and one trail).
      Outside of that, mountainbikers should consider when and where to ride, especially in muddy conditions trails can tear up a lot, which is not great for anyone including the mountainbikers in the longer term.

      That place is constantly maintained by Snowshoe staff, and will be pampered for many years to come. Maybe point your concern to actual destructive things like mining, gas drilling, etc.
