Meet Paul Albert & Ruth Pfeiffer in DCEG Biostatistics Branch

Paul Albert, director and senior investigator, and Ruth Pfeiffer, senior investigator, both in the Biostatistics Branch (BB) in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) at the National Cancer Institute, discuss why they love working in DCEG - namely, because of the collaboration with other brilliant scientists. Investigators and fellows in BB are involved in nearly all the research in DCEG, working on both study design and analysis. Motivated by the complex questions raised by these projects, they develop new statistical methods and share them with the greater research community as software packages and online tools. BB is critical to DCEG’s mission to advance understanding of the causes of cancer and the means of prevention.
