The key is to spin the dish rapidly around the core so that it's cooked evenly on all sides. You may also want to place the dish further away from the core to prevent it from getting burnt. Results in iconic-tasting dishes with a side of radiation.
The freezedown ending wasn’t the black hole sucking you in, it was actually the whole place collapsing instantly due to the extreme gravity well (gdadnh told me this)
