You need to disable boost mood, it will reduce your temps to below 74, i have had this laptop since 2021 and its going great still, still good as new in all aspects tbh, you have to check your battery settings (advanced ones) and set your own option's for sleep mode, better option is to use hibernate.
@@bond00000071 Not at all for me and I not only play intensive games all the time with the fans at like 80% speed and my cpu at almost 95⁰, but I would also keep it running all night for games where I was grinding and waiting for things to happen and I have never experienced anything like that. Seems you may have a faulty model. That or even if the markings get worse, unless it affects the actual screen you should have no problems to worry about
I mean even then, I play games not just for hours on end with my gpu at 100% utilization and my cpu close to that but I also play games that I would leave on all night and going for grinding purposes and I still haven't had any issues with it. Just did a check on it recently and decided to replace the thermal paste just because but it was just fine the way it was. My battery is fully functional as well, I still get a consistent 7-8 hours of battery life even when I keep the resolution and hertz to the max. I feel there may have been many people who received semi faulty models. I mean these were always sold out the day after they are restocked. I even had to within the first week for a speaker issue and now I haven't had any issues with mine since. Honestly I'm shocked to see people with so many issues
Heres my quick review ive had it for over 2 years it will run any game you want at above 70 FPS temps run hotter than most PCs which is normal i sugest a external laptop fan pad and to repaste every year if you do intense heavy gaming year round i sugest thermal grizly kryonought extreme paste it lowers temp by 5 degrees celcious i sugest to upgrade ram and add more storage also i had 1 fan go out replacment was pretty easy did it in less than 1 hour. I had a 2021 G14 that I had 0 issues with and passed it off to my little sister in high school. I just found an open box ROG 15.6” with a TB SSD, rtx 3080, 16gb ram from Best Buy as open box for $670 with a 3 year accidental warranty…. Hopefully it serves me well like my g14

I love this laptop, used to have one with 3060. Unfortunately, had to replace it as 3060 wasnt enough for QHD. Only Legion 7 2022 successfully replaced it 😎 Legion 5 Pro was much worse (speakers, plastic touchpad and build quality). I wanted to get Zephyrus G15 3070ti but in my country its $2,200 while Legion 7 6850m XT $1,500. Legion 7 2022 is very close even beats it in terms of build quality, speakers, touchpad and even more powerful. If you want to upgrade it get Legion 7 Slim 2023 it offers more of everything, as Asus always sacrifices something and never gives full package
My G15 2022 has similar problems to yours. While playing Apex Legends it will suddenly freeze and I had to force a restart, very surprised that Asus didn't fix some of those problems after such a long time.
I got the 2022 model at late 2022. It is my first amd machine and gaming laptop too. I love it for games and a bit of work. Its power on battery is phenomenal, but its incapability to sleep and my hit-or-miss on broken microphone really dissapoint. But overall, happy with the screen, keyboard, trackpad (my favorite), webcam (kinda sucks but works), and material choices of asus

Ye I bought it for sale a few years ago for like $7 I was like why not. As far as performance goes I don't really remember exactly the settings but it was very smooth (dont have it installed right now). I was hooked up to an external monitor which was at 1080p and I had medium-high settings on. I think I locked mine at 60 just because I didn't want my laptop heating up so much with uncapped frames. Was playing at a constant 60 no problem, silky smooth My BF1 footage was a little choppy in the video for some reason but actual gameplay was smooth 👌

I see, yeah capping fps is a smart thing to do in a laptop scenario. Just needed to know if it'll feel any different from my PC if I play while traveling. I got this laptop in early 22, and had very similar weird issues related to the armory crate and ended up doing a factory reset. Also there was some kind of bios update that really helped with the battery life on my machine
How often do you game on this, and what titles do you play? I'm going to use this mostly for coding & machine learning, and I occasionally play AAA games (think like Elden Ring, Final Fantasy...) intensively for probably 1 - 2 months per year. Still have doubts about the heat vent design.
I don't play as often as I used to, but when I do play maybe 1-2 hour sessions at a time. Mostly play VR in assetto corsa/half life alyx. I think you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
i have a similar model to this but 6800hs 3080rtx.. the heat blows onto the screen but it doesnt affect the screen or any adhesive under the bezel.. i was concerned there would eventually be bleeding as a result of the heat but it seems to be fine..
Had 2021 g14 3060 that was recently replaced by 2023 g16 4070. This one has the same chassis, but mine is 16:10. That chin on yours is def an eyesore. Also try ghelper, it is an armory crate replacement.

Thanks! I don't know much about the legion 5 but I would assume based off of those specs the legion 5 will be faster since it's got the 12th gen i7 compared to the ryzen 9 5900hs. From what people said the zephyrus has better battery life and is lighter weight, so I guess if you want more power and don't mind portability as much you can get the legion 5
i've same laptop and my display is bleeding red on right side and left side of the screen vertically when screen is completely black it can be seen when windows is booting up and starting game.
So far there's only just some slight markings on the bottom bezel, don't really notice any damage on the screen itself. Most likely it shouldn't really be an issue in the long run

Everytime I put it to sleep it just wakes back up instantly. Same thing if I close the lid it will just power back on while the lid is closed. Very odd

Every year, there will be new graphics card and processors, so don't worry. My friend has similar laptop and he is very happy. Don't overthink too much
I think from what I've seen the 3070 and 4060 perform very close, except the 4060 has frame generation which I haven't looked into what that means yet. 4060s probably cost more too. I wouldn't worry about it, if it runs what you need to run then it's all good!

Even when I don't use armoury crate, when I unplug the laptop it automatically goes to silent mode and changes the refresh rate to 60. When I plug it back in it goes to performance mode and refresh goes back to 165hz or (144)? so that's pretty neat

I have this laptop from past 3 years and must say the Performance is fine but the built quality,battery,speaker,thermals and OS is really pathetic. I do care my stuffs very carefully but still I faced 1 time screen crack because of a tiny dust,screen bleeding often, Rubber protections and color peeling off,battery lasts very short even on economy mode,sudden screen freeze and reboots. Asus really broke my trust after spending 1620 dollars ! and yeah bought it for my creative work but the screen always needs calibration.

Yeah it was BF1. I don't have the laptop anymore but I'm pretty sure I was just playing on mostly medium and some high settings to get 60+ FPS at 1080p. I don't quite remember tho, but I definitely wasn't running at max settings
I have the same laptop. Bf1 on max settings 1080p I was getting around 120fps in multiplayer. Maybe your laptop is using the igpu, or it's set to some power saving mode?
I would probably go for the RTX 4070 variant at this point but if the 3070 is good enough for you and you can pick it up at a big discount then why not!
Hi, I have a G15 (GA503QR), I notice my wifi connecting to the internet is slow on startup, is this normal? I already change my wifi to wifi 6e, but when I login or startup my laptop, I still wait like 5-10 seconds to connect on wifi to the internet. Even in hibernate. But on other laptop, if they startup their laptop, they already connected on internet without waiting. Can anyone help me?
Probably not if the G14 is already good enough for ur needs. I might even wait a few more years before upgrading mine since I don't really need anymore power atm

You should be able to find an error code somewhere on windows. Even though I didn't have a blue screen, I was still able to find the crash error code which I was able to google that some people mentioned it was from armory crate. See if you can find a crash code somewhere, I forgot where to look exactly
Hey! I've recently bought this one and had a questionable moment with the speakers. What settings are you using? (Dolby Atmos ON/OFF and etc?) I've been using Macbook Air M1 for the past few years and it's speakers are AMAZING compared to the Zephyrus G15. I DO understand that Apple has one of the best speakers on the market for the laptops, but thought that it's impossible for much thinner Macbook Air having MORE bass compared to Zephyrus G15 being twice as thick. Did you notice that too? I'm thinking that it's just my issue either with the audio drivers and stuff, or I'm REALLY used to the Macbook Air's sound. Feels like such a downgrade in that terms...
I think I have everything pretty much disabled, but yeah macbook speakers are in a league of their own. I recently got a 16 inch macbook pro and the speakers are the best I have ever heard on a laptop

@@thekaydubz zephyrus is $1333 and LOQ is $1440 but the zeph weighs very less around 1.9kg and LOQ weighs around 2.5kg but at the same time I see many quality issues reported about zeph online so I even cancelled my zephyrus after i order it

So the LOQ is heavier than my strix and I found a TUF A15 with RTX 4060 at $1333 same as zeph but it also weight similar to my strix. This is so much more confusing.
Ye you pay a little more for a lighter/smaller form factor. That's why the zephyrus costs a little more than some other laptops. Some of them definitely have quality control issues but if you buy from a place like best buy you should be able to return it and get a new one like I did. I haven't looked at gaming laptops in a while I don't even really know what they have nowadays 😅
Mine usually idles around there too even when not running anything. I recently disabled turbo boost for the CPU so my Temps are usually near low 80s when gaming

Sounds like a driver issue, have you tried reinstalling it? Hopefully yours worked well. In my case I wouldn't care about the fingerprint reader cuz it doesn't work 90% of the time anyway haha
I don't have starfield or currently own this laptop anymore, but based off the minimum specs of the game it should be fine with some settings tinkering
I would prefer bulky ones with a better cooling system than a thin laptop that generally heats up during gaming while naming this laptop as "Gaming laptop" 🤦
I actually never messed with the keyboard lighting haha. I'm pretty sure it's done through the armoury crate software. I've changed the light before by using one of the function keys on the keyboard and it just cycles through white or different strobe effects

i am using this laptop too! just disable the turbo boost and its PERFECT!
I disabled my turbo recently, CPU temperatures seem to be staying around 84 so much cooler!

Armoury crate disabled the nvidia card in favour of amd graphics...had to fiddle with the settings to get it back operational..

Average 30-50 seems lower than what I remember for sure. I was also just on the regular performance mode, never really used turbo

I already change my wifi to wifi 6e, but when I login or startup my laptop, I still wait like 5-10 seconds to connect on wifi to the internet. Even in hibernate. But on other laptop, if they startup their laptop, they already connected on internet without waiting. Can anyone help me?
Wondering if this would be worth and upgrade considering it's on sale from my G14, which is very good already.
Probably not if the G14 is already good enough for ur needs. I might even wait a few more years before upgrading mine since I don't really need anymore power atm

bro i have the same exact screen freeze issues with my laptop and I open armory crate often to switch from silent to preformance mode. I dont get how to fix it
You should be able to find an error code somewhere on windows. Even though I didn't have a blue screen, I was still able to find the crash error code which I was able to google that some people mentioned it was from armory crate. See if you can find a crash code somewhere, I forgot where to look exactly
Hey! I've recently bought this one and had a questionable moment with the speakers. What settings are you using? (Dolby Atmos ON/OFF and etc?)
I've been using Macbook Air M1 for the past few years and it's speakers are AMAZING compared to the Zephyrus G15. I DO understand that Apple has one of the best speakers on the market for the laptops, but thought that it's impossible for much thinner Macbook Air having MORE bass compared to Zephyrus G15 being twice as thick. Did you notice that too? I'm thinking that it's just my issue either with the audio drivers and stuff, or I'm REALLY used to the Macbook Air's sound. Feels like such a downgrade in that terms...
I think I have everything pretty much disabled, but yeah macbook speakers are in a league of their own. I recently got a 16 inch macbook pro and the speakers are the best I have ever heard on a laptop

@@thekaydubz zephyrus is $1333 and LOQ is $1440 but the zeph weighs very less around 1.9kg and LOQ weighs around 2.5kg but at the same time I see many quality issues reported about zeph online so I even cancelled my zephyrus after i order it
I guess you made up your mind to get the Lenovo then! The price seems a little high to me for a 4050 tho since my G15 with the 3070 cost $1500 over a year ago.
Edit: actually even found some Asus TUF laptops for $1400 with an RTX 4070 on best buy
@@thekaydubz wow that deal looks really good Nah I haven't made up my mind about lenovo yet cause I am really upgrading from my 2 year old Rog strix GTX 1650ti with i5 10300H and the main reason I wanted to upgrade was to get a lighter gaming laptop that I can use as a personal workstation as well for my work purposes. So the LOQ is heavier than my strix and I found a TUF A15 with RTX 4060 at $1333 same as zeph but it also weight similar to my strix. This is so much more confusing.
Ye you pay a little more for a lighter/smaller form factor. That's why the zephyrus costs a little more than some other laptops. Some of them definitely have quality control issues but if you buy from a place like best buy you should be able to return it and get a new one like I did. I haven't looked at gaming laptops in a while I don't even really know what they have nowadays 😅

Mine usually idles around there too even when not running anything. I recently disabled turbo boost for the CPU so my Temps are usually near low 80s when gaming

Sounds like a driver issue, have you tried reinstalling it? Hopefully yours worked well. In my case I wouldn't care about the fingerprint reader cuz it doesn't work 90% of the time anyway haha

I don't have starfield or currently own this laptop anymore, but based off the minimum specs of the game it should be fine with some settings tinkering

I would prefer bulky ones with a better cooling system than a thin laptop that generally heats up during gaming while naming this laptop as "Gaming laptop" 🤦
Then you have other options like the strix, what do you expect in this form factor? You make sacrifices with a thiner and lighter package.

I actually never messed with the keyboard lighting haha. I'm pretty sure it's done through the armoury crate software. I've changed the light before by using one of the function keys on the keyboard and it just cycles through white or different strobe effects
