    I already know about suspension on a little deeper level, but that syringe visualization was really awesome!

      Did you ever do a follow up to this video around how to set up your fork for a hardtail? I'm in the processes of failing in my 150mm Lyrik Ultimate on a Ragley Big AL...

      @@hardtailparty thanks! Is there any difference between dialling in for a hardtail Vs full sus? I like to sit a bit higher up in the travel on a hardtail

    That was spot on with your explanation on how suspension works. The use of the syringe to demonstrate compression/rebound was excellent and I understood it a lot better after seeing your video. Keep up the Great Work!

    Fantastic analogy! Suspension is one of the MOST important things to make a bike ride to its full potential. I'm looking forward to following vids on this topic.

    This explaination is a great way to show suspension movement! This is simple and keeps the complexities of shim stacks and valving out of the equatuion.. Nice Job Steve

    Great way to break down compression/rebound. The syringe was a clear way of demonstrating the function. Excellent for those of us who are visual learners.

    I remember a late 90's Marzocchi Z2 I have that was just about as simple as the syringe you demoed. It has a piston with an o ring, and an orifice you adjusted with a needle valve. It also looked awsome with the sparkly blue paint and polished aluminum "M" Arch and crown! Every month or so the oil needed to be changed. It would fill with tiny metal particles. Looks better than it workes. Isn't that the stereotype for most Italian engineering?

      I remember my z1cr back then. It was incredible. I never touched that fork in a year and a half of riding and it still felt incredible. That coil fork was so much fun.

    first off thank you for giving me a video to look forward to during lockdown. seems like you are cranking them out daily and its very much appreciated , which i am happily signing up for your patreon, since you are providing me both education / entertainment... and lastly thanks for breaking down compression and rebound with comparing it to pressure of going through a hole that changes diameter. i had not thought of it this way and it makes sense.

    • @hardtailparty
      @hardtailparty  4 роки тому +2

      I'll do a dedicated video to this eventially. Lsc affects how your fork performs when it's moving at low speed (not the speed of the wheels, the speed of the fork). Things like bon when pumping, sprinting, or pedalling hard can be tuned out with lsc.

      High end coil forks have these same adjustments too. No air involved.
      Lower end forks, unfortunately, do not have these adjustments.
