Hey Mike i've got a question! Don't you have to do a loop everytime you stop seeding during one run? You always said/did so in previous videos...just wondering. Or is it possible to 'prime' the seeder before taking off? By the way, interesting point of view, love your videos and the effort you put in them! Keep em coming :)
When you turn do the seed rows cross paths with eachother or the midrow banders? Or does the weird steering axle hitch on the drill reduce or eliminate that from happening?
6000 ac field and others nearly as big ! Don’t know how you stay awake to drill them . Some mind set that of taking that on. How many acres an hour are you doing ?
Well, sounds like my cooler in my pc has to work harder than the one in the Fendt. Great views, but I hope I am not the only one for whom it is not so easy to see why you turned the why you did when you did so. Gues thats part of the orientation week. Would like to know more about brown mustard as well. How does it compare to the yellow one, needs ...
Yes, if I have the sectional control turned on.. The openers will remain in the ground to insure the drill pulls evenly even though the seed and fertilizer is turned off. Will it disturb the already seeded ground Mike? The answer is no.. You won't notice it when the crop comes up.
Someone needs to get Mike a gopro or other type of camera with wireless connectivity and a proper mounting bracket so he could do this for everything. Then he can still split the video inside the cab and then outside.
My understanding is that Mike’s soil conditions are different enough from Tony from Fast Ag Montana that there currently isn't a production tractor with enough horsepower to pull a 100' drill in SW Saskatchewan
In the video mike said that he put his drill right where brians last run ended, so on the right hand side no section control is needed. i hope you understand what i'm trying to say :)
@@thomascurran2990 Well he could literally see where brians last pass ended so he (manually) put his drill right next to it and then set a new straight line on auto steer.. then he just had to go till the end of the field, always pulling the drill where it needed to be. This works so well because nearly all their runs on every field are oriented straight east/west or north/south. So to go parallel to brians last run he just needed to place his drill right and then set his auto steer straight west or north (i'll guess east/west concerning the shadows). Could you follow me? 😅 Also, would be interesting to know where you're from.. greetings from germany 😁
Hey Mike I’ve got a question what are the pros and cons of having your drill between the tractor and seed cart compared to having the drill behind the seed cart seen these configuration before or is it just the brand of drill you buy on what the configuration is?
With the 1300 bushel grain cart that Mike is pulling this is the only configuration you can get. if you have a smaller tank the yes you can a tow between tank. it is preference as to what you would like both work the same. Maybe depending on soil type you don't want a cart behind the drill for compaction. Some companies make both tow between and tow behind tanks and there are some that only make tow behind. Usually just depends on what the farmer wants there is really no big difference between the 2 styles.
Don't you imagine that a cart that is getting low on product could not hold traction and would slide sideways in turns while seeding, due to the high drag of the seeder when in the ground?

@@oldretireddude That's an interesting thought! I feel like a tow-behind 2-wheel cart would actually puts some of its weight on the drawbar could increase traction.
