I'm not Eastern Orthodox Christian but Roman Catholic. I've seen the similarities between Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church. I find this music relaxing. My hope is that in the future, the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church will reunite. Saint Peter was the first pope. And Pope Francis the successor of him. So I consider the Eastern Orthodox Christians my brothers and sisters in Christ.
There are similarities, because it was one church not catholic or orthodox, it was christian church that divided. At that period the church had great power, you may say they are the rulers of the world in a way. And so like Roman empire crumbled into pieces there were two big religious centres, eastern and western. They just used some differences in the rituals and the base language used in both regions as an excuse to separete from each other, because none of them wanted to accept the eastern or the western church head to be supreme. They are not exactly the same now, because as different churches afterwards they grew different based on the region etc.

Thank you for sharing this great recording... there are no special effects or studio tricks here... there aren't even any instruments beside the human voices... this sound is unique: it's NOT "art"; it's higher than that... I am always reminded by these sounds that liturgy is constant and unceasing... we can't "begin" to sing to IC XC, we can only "join in" with the ongoing praise.

Music transmits a language universal to us all. What is the music saying to you? There is a reason religion exists. Neil DeGrasse, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens - all people who hated religion (analyze their arguments and see if you can boil them down to their motivational complexes). Just my opinion, but the glorification of GOD, JESUS CHRIST and the VIRGEN MARY has always been more spiritual and uplifting in the Slavic languages than Greek or Latin.

I'm not Eastern Orthodox Christian but Roman Catholic. I've seen the similarities between Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church. I find this music relaxing. My hope is that in the future, the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church will reunite. Saint Peter was the first pope. And Pope Francis the successor of him. So I consider the Eastern Orthodox Christians my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Either way, I still consider you a brother in Christ.
There are similarities, because it was one church not catholic or orthodox, it was christian church that divided. At that period the church had great power, you may say they are the rulers of the world in a way. And so like Roman empire crumbled into pieces there were two big religious centres, eastern and western. They just used some differences in the rituals and the base language used in both regions as an excuse to separete from each other, because none of them wanted to accept the eastern or the western church head to be supreme. They are not exactly the same now, because as different churches afterwards they grew different based on the region etc.
I don`t want to judge you but your Church is no more on the path of God and any reunion will hinder the Orthodox.
