On the flip side I do think there should be a limit on the amount of snookers because there is nothing entertaining a player needing 3 snookers and the balls are not really in good areas to lay snookers.
I don't understand this viewpoint on ending frames as soon as snookers are required. I love that part of the game... the cat and mouse battle... the chess like back and forth... some of the best drama has come from these situations in the past.
Yes, it’s something I was surprised to hear Shaun say. I love a snooker battle when there’s not enough points on the table for a certain player - but then again I do consider myself a ‘purist’ 😃
It's astonishing a pro player, a former world champion, would want to remove snookers (getting extra points to win a frame) from the sport. Trying to get a snooker is part of the game, an integral component of winning some frames. Shaun is entitled to his opinion but it's rather silly, imho.
@@YTguySmithy-lk6go I agree, it’s a strange take. I’ve noticed he’s still playing on for snookers in this year’s World Championships, so he isn’t practicing what he preaches! 😅
Thank you very much & I hope so too. I’ll be hanging around the Crucible this year, so I might try and pester some other players 😂 Shaun was a pleasure to interview and a genuinely lovely person, too.
I agree with the comments that ending a frame as soon as you need a snooker is not a great idea. I think a limit of 3 snòokers or more could be introduced though. However i do think the referee's could be more lenient with the miss rule especially if there's one or two reds left and you can genuinely see they trying to hit the ball and miss it by a fraction and they still call a miss could be looked into. Anyway great interview mate 👍
Yep definitely. The game is called Snooker, after all! I like the idea of a more lenient system, the only problem with that is that it might actually end up causing more controversy in the long run 😅 thank you for watching and thanks for the comment! :)
@JamesSnookerNation To be honest, as soon as I wrote my comment, I thought exactly the same about more controversy lol. No problem mate keep doing what your doing 👍
Røde GO Wireless 2... PLEASE invest in that. Horrible location if you wanna get interviews if microphones arent directly on you. Best of luck for future interviews :) and still sporting as ever from Shaun.
Shaun's an incredibly nice bloke, I met him years ago when he lived in Rotherham a couple of years before anyone new who he was..... Bit nosey but nice interview Thk Q :)
The reason Shaun wants a frame ended when a player needs a snooker is because he is an average safety player and particularly poor at getting out of snookers!
well done mate, great interview
Cheers! Pleased you enjoyed it 😃👌🏼
Good job!
Thanks! 🤩
Awesome interview James! Recently found your channel and loving the content!
Thanks so much - really appreciate it and thanks for saying that, too! 😃
What a Gentleman Shaun and nice interview James 🔥
Thank you - he was an absolute pleasure to chat with :)
Ending a frame once snookers are needed is a terrible idea. This part of a frame can be and is mostly, great to watch.
I really enjoy players trying to get snookers - it’s something that is fundamental to the game!
The game is called Snooker for a reason
Indeed. Ludicrous Shaun Murphy.

@@greeny12433 I agree with a limit

Nice interview, some wireless mics would really help for the next one.
Audio so difficult to pick up with the background noise
Yes - I regretted not bringing mics. Next time! Thanks for the comment!
Welln done there, James.
Hope ypu will get the opportunity to meet other players as well.
Shaun really seems like a great guy.

@@Adam-o1x2t thank you - really appreciate that! 😃
Murphy actually played on for 3 snookers in frame 8 against Maguire....... What a hypocrite
@@Joe-ye5mc I noticed that, too!
Anything over 3 snookers call it a day you go to be entertained
I agree that entertainment is important but Snookers are fundamental to the game and for me it feels strange if they were to be removed!

Yes - I will make that purchase asap!! 😅 definitely should have considered those before this, but next time…! Thanks :)
Good stuff, but yeah audio is everything in interviews. I'm sure you know that though!
Cheers! Next time 😆

That's awesome. He was the kindest person you could meet and I was so grateful he was willing to give me a little bit of his time :)
Good work mate! 🎱🎱🎱
Thanks & cheers for watching :)
He like a Talk ..
Shaun gets some stick sometimes but always seems up for doing interviews and talking snooker etc
He was great and a pleasure to meet!

He’s never been renowned for being a great tactical player - but he’s certainly not the worst there’s ever been 😅
@@JamesSnookerNation agree but if he was the worst there's ever been James he wouldn't have been top 16 and World Champion.
