Lyrics:
When the pleasure is a dream
On a secret love
And the people wanna make a fun
We are losing control on a floor tonight
Take your heart into a unicorn
If the sky is not green
But The sky is a blue
Have a passion in a million way
Touch it make it twice before I cry
Heaven is a time today
Na na na na na na na na na na
All of the dream
How does it mean
When the rhythm is glad
There is nothing to be sad
Danger and dance
Clapping the hands
When we Out in the space
On the Planet of the bass
Life, it never die
Women are my favorite guys
Sex, I’m wanting more
Tell the world, stop the war
Boom
Hear the bass go zoom
Have a body feel the groove
Cyber system overload
Everybody Movement.
All of the dream
How does it mean
When the rhythm is glad
There is nothing to be sad

When we Out in the space
On the Planet of the bass

It's legitimately a good '90s Europop dance song. On first hearing the 30 second clip a few weeks ago I seriously thought it was just an actual song I missed at the time with someone making a funny modern video.

the amount of skill it takes to write a "song translated into english that ALMOST makes sense"... it's so incredible, just consistently nailing the grammar inconsistencies. This just FEELS so much like a song in translated from another language, that it's hard to believe that it's not. I do not know if either kyle or Audrey are bilingual, but I would totally believe it.
So thats why I basically nearly lost my mind trying to figure out wtf he was saying-

I heard this song at a club in Zagreb when I was just 17. Yugoslavia had just fallen. Everything was afraid. But when this song played, the world outside was gone. I felt joy. I was alive. The times were sad but not when I was on the Planet of the Bass.
As a croatian who emmigrated to USA in the 90s I can 1000% confirm that the lyrics are how my parents and their friends spoke english and this type of eurodance was definitely bumping at the coffee turned dance parties.
The club is bumping, the ladies look good and the alcohol is flowing. There is much sadness in the world but not in this room.
DJ Crazy Times's 2023 novelty song Planet of the Bass creates a metaphorical "first contact" between neoliberal West and newly opened post-war Balkan states of Eastern Europe in the late 1990s, as illustrated by aliens probing a hamburger and downloading imagery of nature specials and Bill Clinton. In this essay, I will...
@@EmissaryofWind when the rhythm is glad, there is nothing to be sad
Wait didn't the song just come out? If not where is the original??
The line “Tell the world: ‘Stop the War’” is absolutely incredible on its own. But sandwiching it between “Sex. I’m wanting more” and “Boom. Hear the bass go zoom” makes this transcendental poetry. I feel like a new being for having heard it.
Fuck that was without even mentioning “Oh I’ve got an Idea. WORLD PEACE!”, the shots of Bill Clinton, war and nature footage, and just every horny symbol possible.
The fusion of unhinged horniness with brutality simple confused and cheap antiwar messaging is a sublime creation.
I couldn’t tell you if any of the specific portion of this has a direct source. But the precision in embodying this exact kind of euro-pop product is astounding. Some sort of deep psychological vein must’ve been tapped to extract such a powerful image.
It's also a haiku hahaha

I adore how this simultaneously captures the energy of lines that are _almost_ translated correctly, with minor grammatical errors but a clearly understandable intention ("We are losing control on a floor tonight", "Clapping the hands"), but also lines that have been so bafflingly mistranslated that you wonder what the hell the original intention was ("Take your heart into a unicorn"???)
That is good to me as well as that
@@senororlando2 I am an unicorn
@@DaoDragonFire no you are not, take your meds
Usually the weird ones are where a word translates into two different English words, or in the original language the word has multiple meanings depending on context. And for whatever reason the translator had to presumably just guess. That’s why so much Chinese is translated wildly incorrectly. The kanji can mean a million things, the context changes the meaning.
Like in English, die means a singular dice OR the verb for becoming dead. So if someone read “Die in English means to become dead or the singular of dice” they’d have to pick the word in their language for the correct option, but if they get the option wrong… well you get “Take your heart to a unicorn”. Or on this example, “We’re gonna [singular of dice] [offspring]” for “We’re gonna die young”
@@DeathnoteBB don’t forget I imagine Kyle’s friend dj crazy times was in Ljubljana, Slovenia back when they beat Czechoslovakia in the semi finals of the Eurovision 1997 at “Club A Unicorn” where everyone was dropping the famous green heart ecstasy tablets when they went in. @@MasDouc it’s a warning of what could be if humans don’t stop the war. Hugebees how are you here on video of this comment sections man ? Super cool you are arrived though !! Many much love
I wouldn't say better. Eurodance music was actually pretty good, even though the videos were always a dumpster fire.
However this is easily the best eurodance song that has come out in the last 20 years. XD
That's a rinsing machine, if I ever saw one.
holy shit, a verified comment that doesnt have 500 replies yet. fucking incredible
This is a master class on how to write lyrics that get dangerously close to sounding like they have meaning but fully DO NOT
"It ain't got that swing if it don't mean a thing." This song is the exception that proves the rule.
It has meaning but.
WORLD PEACE!!!!!!
how does it mean ?
Basically any pop song written by Max Martin
Kinda like Tool
He tried to make a parody, but he ended up making a completely authentic 90s eurodance song.
Props to the cast and crew that worked on this project. It was peak guerilla marketing and y'all pulled it off.

I really like the subtle implication that he is an incredibly staunch peace advocate who may have been traumatized by the yugoslav wars.

All jokes aside, he & Biljana could actually make a career out of making actual nostalgic retro europop songs. I'd listen to it, at least
i will say, the Biljana on the screen is not the Biljana of the voice! love from poland
Pretty much every genre has comebacks in waves. So many 90s styles have seen a resurgence lately. Is it eurodance's turn?
Just like disco and numetal, there's way better stuff than most folks seem to remember. Maybe it's time for that golden eurodance revival, where a few great contemporary producers and DJs make everyone realize it was great music all along.
Magic Affair, Culture Beat, DJ Bobo, Technotronic, 2 Unlimited...
This may just be what the world needs right meow.
Stay tune to find the out. 🎉
the voice of biljana is actually chrissi poland!!
They could play at kazillion eurodance festivals. Just look up Haddaway's or 2 Unlimited's tour schedules

To make a good parody, you have to love and appreciate the source material.
Eurodance still exists in 2023? That’s like Techno
@@princealbertz But techno that's currently more mainstream is future rave or peak time techno and Eurodance came from the classic form of techno that we barely even get these days.

When he said “women are my favorite guy” and “boom hear the base go zoom” I felt that in the very depths of my SOUL
This was THE song back in my university days back in Estonia 🇪🇪 Met my husband of 25 years at a dance club as this played. “when the rhythm is glad there is nothing to be sad” indeed. Kids these days will never understand how good life was back then. When music was MUSIC. Armastus ja mälestused! 🥰
I saw the video on MTV when I was a kid and my parents told me about the time they went to see them live. It was the date where they really connected and started a relationship.
They said it was unlike anything they'd ever seen. Everybody movement and truly a place where there was nothing to be sad. A few years later, I was born.
So, in a way, I have DJ Crazy Times and Biljana Electronica to thank for playing a role in bringing me into this world.
