- Cinematic music video for 10 Feet Tall, the second single from Freddys BAYS album, directed by Jess Bluck.
"The band’s new song ‘10 Feet Tall’ speaks to me a lot about adversity, about staying strong and rising above it all. To reflect that, the video employs the metaphor of human flight, mysterious and magical as it is. The story we tell has the feel of a universal modern day fable that children and young people seem to understand even better than adults. I hope the video will serve to lift people up, just as Fat Freddy’s music does” Jess Bluck said.
The video was filmed in New Zealand over summer at the idyllic coastal spot of Pakiri north of Auckland, a favourite holiday haunt for Jess Bluck who invited Pakiri locals to be part of the filmmaking that captures the songs lyrical content.

So I'm Canadian, someone recommended FFD to me, but now I've realized New Zealand is seemingly chalked full of artists who combine elements of jazz/reggae/rnb/soul/hip hop/funk in various ways. Pretty cool shit. They led me to Ladi6 and then Supergroove & Aardahna all of whom I'm catching up on 5-10 years late haha.

How To Turn Suburbia Into An Eco Village
Eco Villages require many amenities and services to provide the pleasure of living in an eco village. Some eco villages are basic and consist of food production and shelter. Some eco villages are complex, consisting of all the amenities and services required to provide individuals with abundance. All eco villages are sustainable and managed by a residence association.
A basic eco village can be created by residents owning land freehold where residents agree to support the most powerful defence force in their geographic area. Residents will set up a sustainable food supply for all the residents in the village. Residents will also operate a social enterprise export business so that residents can buy needed items from other villages or businesses. Residents will need to educate themselves on who the most powerful defence force is and who best to trust when choosing who to offer support to.
An advanced eco village is based out of a community garden that grows seedlings. Residents collect seeds for the community garden to grow. Residents grow the seeds into seedlings. The seedlings are then sold to other residents, who grow the seedlings into produce. The produce is then sold via the community garden to residents who turn the produce into food for the community or into food jars to be exported. Residents will also use the community garden as a place to organise work for the residents. Some residents may find income in other villages. The residents that don't find paid employment work for a social enterprise export business. Residents Associations will guide people as to how many hours per week of work residents need to do.
All eco villages practice social welfare. Social welfare is the pursuit to provide all residents with their basic needs. The intention of social welfare is to create peace and harmony so society flourishes. Eco villages manage social welfare via the residents association. All income people in the village earn will pay a % of the their income to the eco village social welfare fund. Residents may also need to pay a % of their income to their lands defence force.
Eco village resident associations use the money collected to pay for the services to maintain and sustain the land. Residents will vote for a group of leaders to manage the services and issues. Each leader will represent an industry. Residents will vote for leaders to represent each relevant industry.
Eco villages live by a code of conduct that stipulates never physically harm others, never steal and never pollute the natural world. Within eco villages people enjoy diversity and encourage the philosophy of 'whatever floats your boat'. Eco villages are designed so that each resident feels comfortable and safe, providing each resident with their own room and safe public areas to use. All residents will have equal and fair access to the healthcare provider. All life threatening issues will be cared for financially via a waiting list system that does not discriminate against people based on where, when, how, why they were born. Eco villages choose to support a defence force that only protects people from physical harm, theft or trespassing. Residents vote for an eco village defence force liaison officer to represent their village and to ultimately choose who to support on behalf of the village.
Eco villages promote businesses that are 50% female and 50% male. Residents associations manage the sale and purchasing of land so that 50% of the residents are male and 50% are female. Eco villages are open to all forms of constructive communication methods, though special emphasis is given to paper and handwriting communication. Eco villages offer career advisers, teachers and builders to help people experience their dreams.
