  • I wanted to try something a little different and play notes that really don't fit togeather as well as other choices would. Of course I am still trying to create something you can listen to so there are still moments which work in a more standard way but mostly synclavier drones clashing with other drones!
    Hope you find it interesting.

      I hear ya man! I have a old 1920's Master clock go gives off a massive CLUNK every 30 seconds. It seems to freak a lot of people out but to me it feels like home :D

    Its a soundtrack to what fits it........Just listen to the Film "Animal Kingdom"... Its Partos's Signature.
    (A Tech tip. You need way more business cards)
    As for the idea... I might investigate with he idea and LoomII.. I do have a soundtrack to do....... So far.. you've sold me.

      As to business cards, I need more FM voices.. every time you see the display show - - - - ive run out. The system has 8 but I was using the chorus feature so I could play a max of 4 at the same time :O :D

    Very nice. It reminds me of the music composed by Eliane Radigue on her ARP 2500.

      Thankyou Samuel. Most people seem to like it. I am starting to wonder if the feeling of calm is driven by the slow fades also or just the music :D

    v nice. would work well along side installation art.
    now try playing the same piece on a B3;-)
    interesting additive sounds towards the end....almost vox choir like

      I have never played a B3! :O I always dislike the way notes stop instantly on organs .. if if I use them I nromally drown them in delay :D

    I am so fascinated by the synclavier more than any other synth that one day I want to hopefully purchase one but I need to know what id be getting into if I was to buy one and i was hoping that you could help me. First off is the synclavier 2 just the keyboard? Or would I have to buy multiple parts to get it functioning? And is there anything you wish it had as a function that is doesn't? I want to buy one for the harmonics and fm and sampling i just want to know if its got things like velocity and maybe aftertouch and would it be worth buying it? Thanks for the help!

    • @100ThingsIDo
      @100ThingsIDo  2 роки тому

      Hi there, so the keyboard is 100% a controller, the ORK keyboard *original keyboard* keybed is a basic pratt-reed on off with no velocity or aftertouch, the later keyboard has weighted keys and velocity. Best to join the Facebook group for the Synclavier to find out more. Its a modular system so FM & Sampling are all configured by which synclavier boards you have installed in its mainframe. each system is different. Hope this helps :D

    i use to do this on old 80's casiotones, portatones, bontempis. they all have bad DAC and because of that i think they produce even more interesting inharmonics, the synclavier is too clean & perfect!😁 spooky tune, sits comfortly in the ear.

    I rather liked this. It could be a soundtrack to an avant garde science fiction film or something like that. At 3:45 the beats you began introducing reminded me of the distant throb of old prop planes, and had a sort of vintage war film vibe. Towards the end it began to feel like the tones you get from wind chimes, so it was in fact pretty relaxing in many ways.
    I'm not in the least surprised at your choice of synth either. The Synclavier excels at this sort of thing!

    • @100ThingsIDo
      @100ThingsIDo  2 роки тому

      Yes the signwaves in the synclavier sure have a special magic to them. As far as I remeber the calculations it does to create them are from a look up table so they are always the same no matter what :D

    Using only inharmonic notes and playing wrong keys is not new, actualy, many composers who make contemporary music, or some styles of jazz freed from the patriarcal dictatorship, do that since 60 years.
    No melody, no scale, no rhythm and sometime no note.
    There's a market for that on public radio channels, with subsidies and the admiration of the elite.
    Regarding you own composition I must say you did it totaly wrong as it's not awfull as these real pro of contemporary music can do. You tried to achieve some nice frequency beatings, there's no sudden brutal percussions, no short bursts of aggressive unrelated noises nor pangolin breeding growls, no long preliminary pedantic explanations about your masterwork and anthropic global warming, etc...
    It's a total failure, you made it nice, consequently you will not be broadcasted on a public radio channel and your music will not be used for a ballet about transhuman Venusians migrants.
    Sorry, mate, I like you just did, so this is bad.

      True! It needs more going on and while the music its self is always original its indeed hard to find an original idea these days. I tend to find Hainbach tends to do a lot of the more experimental stuff I like to do and it feels like a duplication doing work similar here. Thanks as always for the support :D

    • @FLH3official
      @FLH3official 2 роки тому +2

      @@100ThingsIDo Actualy I like too what Hainbach is doing, even if it's not the "primary music I listen to".
      (But I confess I've attended to a Pierre Henry concert some decades ago in Paris, I somehow like musique concrète)
      And again I realy like what you made in your short piece with the synclavier, beating frequencies is, maybe, the heart of what is "music" (or "noise which is nice to hear")
