    Glad you covered the fact that the app can work without signal. Many people complained about that, and they did an update in August to correct that. Looks like it has good connectivity for real world applications such as walls and other obstructions. Good overview, Dave, thanks!

      your welcome Tom, I have a ton of units to go threw so ill get videos of these.

    I've had mine for 3 weeks now. Love them. Readings outside the box! Exactly what I've wanted for years now! I opted to not get the enthalpy probes. Now I'm wishing I got them for that ∆t

      toolman what’s the best range you have gotten outside the box so far?

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C So far the most challenging job I was at a condensing unit during a start up about 25ft away, through the box, two interior walls and a brick exterior wall without any challenges. This was not over WiFi either.

    Pressure probes don’t connect or work with any Sman manifold.

    What's the battery drain on your tablet like with all the probes connected via Bluetooth...?

    This looks like a good alternative to the Sporlan Smart Pro/r. Will the app support three pressure probes and three temperature probes simultaneously? I would like to be able to leave a set of probes at the condensing unit and a low side probe and temp clamp at the evap. Thanks -Pete

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому +1

      Alpha Tech Refrigeration at this time it dose not. But I have asked about multiple evaps in the app for refrigeration.

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C. Seems like everything being developed is for AC work, I guess Refrigeration guys are dinosaurs. I just can't bring myself to spend over a thousand $ (three sets of low side probes and one set of high side) on the Sporlan smart probes. Up, down, up, down on the ladder I go!

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому

      I agree, it would be nice if you piece your own kit together.

    Great video!
    Based on connecting all the probes, does this Fieldpiece set up let you know the CFM's of the trunk you have supply side probe in or you still need to separately figure out CFM's using a hot wire anemometer?
    Thanks!

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  6 років тому

      jdere31760 at this time it dose not. They are rumors that the hot wire is coming out. You have to manually input your cfm on the app.

    Great review Dave! Glad to see someone show more features and aspects beyond just range. Maybe if I'd stop shooting Fieldpiece meters in videos they would send me a set to test.. HAHA!
    Great job buddy!

      HVAC in SC I use UEI meter and they sent them😂😂. So far these probes work as advertised. I have a 3story building with some split systems I need to test on and see how it works.

    Hi Dave hope the fires aren't knocking at your door, and hate to see someone else tapping the old vangina LOL! Have a question for ya now that you have had the Job link probes for a while are they worthwhile? Or just another fad? I've always liked Fieldpiece but still on the fence . I respect your opion and any advise good or bad would be appreciated! Thanks and Stay safe!!!

      Mike Seymore there are better than Testo probes right now due to the fieldpiece range the range is not iconnect range not even close. But good,to me the kit is worth it I’ll have more videos coming.

      Good video ! Here's the Prices --- $ 304.00 --- 2 pressure probes & 2 - Temp clamps. No Air Probes. Test equiptment depot.$476.00 --- 2 - temperature / Psychronometer Probes , 2 - Temperature Clamps , 2- Pressure Probes. Test equiptment depot.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому +1

      toolman I know the price. I have more than that in my Testo’s which only have a 20’-30’ range on a good day. For the price the Fieldpiece are a deal.

    • @toolman9081
      @toolman9081 7 років тому

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C I never purchased the Testo set. I did waste money on the first gen of the Sporlan set tho. Needless to say, I was weary of the testo range. And when I heard about the range these Fieldpiece were getting I decided to get them. And I am glad I did!

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому

      I had the Iconnect for a bit and the range is the best. its expensive but good, fieldpiece had told me about there probes and the fact they would broadcast threw walls, boxes and that I could demo them, I gave the I connect away to OC refrigeration.

  • @williamprothro2030
    @williamprothro2030 6 років тому

    So NorCal Dave love the videos. this is my first time to go digital would the field piece be the way or testo ? Dose one offer more for ac work or more for refrigeration ?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  6 років тому

      William Prothro the fieldpiece will give you range and broadcast through walls. Testo at this time dose not. It’s not even close get the the fieldpiece probes.

    I keep looking at all this new stuff, it tells you this and tells you that. It all does it in its own ways. Its pretty damn cool! But do you think the new age engineer relys on all this info buts not actually sure wtf to do? Dont get me wrong im no fridge guru but is this the turnaround from experience and to someone saying computer says no.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому

      I was just talking about this to a friend, if its balls busy no way you break out these tools. change outs yes, start up yes, trouble units yes. what do you think?

    • @gsijimbo3572
      @gsijimbo3572 7 років тому +1

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C i use the testos sometimes, but its dependant on what your doing and what time you have i guess. Pretty handy for the problem units like you say. But stuff i work on i dont need anything to fancy. I use the pressure sensors a bit if im pressure testing, they can be handy. Good to play around with this stuff though if you have time.
