A lot of juggalos aren't poor anymore. There are a lot of juggalos out in the professional world and in all walks of life that have been down since day one. We are everywhere.
Good work here once again brother! The first recorded lyric of “juggalo” is the Beverly Kills intro “See me breathe fire and swallow a knife, right, I ain’t swallowing nothing Jack. But I can Juggalo like you never thought you’d ever know.” At this point I’d say that lyric turned out to be true… no one thought they’d ever know the extent juggalos have gone today, and we keep going! Two whoops!
Where are you from, I'm from Pine Ridge, I am Lakota, and how the hell can you think that this is an any way comparable to traditional ways, you should know better than that, if you don't know your ways, or, you're just saying this to appease this white man, or you're one of these thin blood natives, whose earliest ancestor is five generations back.
The positive effect ICP and Juggalos have had on me my whole life if undescribable I just called it dark carnival magic. And thinking about the mythology they have created through their songs and the strange spiritual uplifting I get from from the music (lotus and abk especially) a connection like this doesn't seem surprising at all. 2whoops fam
I'd be very interested in seeing more parallels regarding the Heyokas. I've had similar thoughts about ICP and them having this sort of prophet energy to their music. I know they've had verses that say they're voices of a higher power, or as they put it the Dark Carnival, but I do find this particular angle fascinating and would love to see what else you can dig up and what kind of thoughts it might provoke. Good shit dude! Keep it up!
Hey this is so cool! This is exactly the type of Juggalo content I've been craving and I'm super happy to have found some! Thanks for keeping the scene fresh, mcl!!

Absolutely amazing video My Ninja brother, I am a Native American from the tribe of Laguna New Mexico U.S and we have noticed that our Secret spirit of clowns are very very closely related to us Juggalos of today. And you have hit the head with a hatch on this point bro… thank you for finding this connection between us Juggalo and our Native spirits, keep up the amazing work and keep grinding my ninja… Mad Mad wicked clown love… 🤘🏽😎
WHOOP WHOOP, Interesting connection. Me being Native I say Thank You for that Nice Lil realization because I know there's a Reason Why a Lotta Natives Love ICP.
I did look into this a while ago, and I came to the same conclusion. Thank you for this, I have thought this for a while. I love how serious and explanatory you are in this
Love this break down and exploration of the role of a jester or joker in different cultures. To say the unabashed truth and reflect back onto society. Respect for taking a fresh approach to how we discuss the art and deeper meaning to all this
Whoop Whoop homie I think you did a great job explaining and making a real connection with the hyoka thing. MCL homie and to anyone reading this I love you stay safe and God bless you.
The culture has changed waaay to much since my hayday, which was 1998-2008. After 2008 I sort of became a little bit of a hermit, and stopped interacting with pretty much everyone, people in general but that includes the Juggalo community. When I started to sort of resurface a bit and began to touch base with the community again... I don't know, it felt like everything was way different now. Everything from major things to minor and simple things were suddenly different amongst Juggalos from my own days. Obviously the split between ICP and Twiztid changed a lot, but other things changed which were a result of outside influences seeping into the culture. I'll try to list some changes here, and note which ones I believe are minor and major: > Major: The birth of the "famkid", and possibly the worst thing in my opinion to happen to the community. Yes, even worse than the PSY split in 2012 when Twiztid left. Now the famkid had already started to crop up around the end of my own personal era (again, 98-08), and before I sort of went underground and away from everything I was very vocal about it being a bad idea. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, a famkid is basically a juggalo who is ultra-fanatical about the idea of juggalos being a family. Some of them literally believe a random juggalo should go to lengths such as letting another random juggalo live in your house if they were recently kicked out, despite not knowing said person at all. It's fuckin' ridiculous. Maybe it's just me (well, actually it was still Juggalo culture in general before the family shit took serious root), but I don't give a shit who you are. If I don't know you personally, then I don't know you. I'm not going to open my home, wallet, bank account, and social security number to you just because you like the same shit I do. Anyways, yeah a famkid is somebody who is extremely fanatical about the family aspect of the Juggalo community. They wholeheartedly believe every single Juggalo on Earth is basically their blood family. I was always very vocal in this being a bad idea for several reasons, one of which I will explain in a point after this one. Now, a lot of people claim ICP started the family idea. However, from my perspective and y'know - actually being around during that era and owning pretty much every piece of media that was being released, going to shows actively, etc, it was actually Twiztid that started the family shit. Now, there are small elements of it in Mostasteless, but it wasn't until Freek Show that they really started to push it (Jamie, We Don't Die: "Everyone of yall means everything to me, we bleed for yall, that's why we call it family"). Mirror Mirror had the family shit all over the place (even an entire fucking song dedicated to it), and by the time Green Book came around the family shit was in full swing, Juggalos themselves were all aboard the 'family train', and ICP themselves began to roll with the punches. So - thanks Twiztid. Thanks for introducing what is arguably the worst aspect of being a Juggalo, and why we spent so many years fighting against a shitty reputation given to us by the media, and still deal with it to this day. >Major: Here is one of the biggest, if not *the* biggest reason the family shit isn't a good thing: Juggalos will nowadays take pretty much anybody and everybody in from all walks of life and give them a community. This SOUNDS great... on paper. In reality, it's shit. Pedophiles, thieves, dirtbags, and scum of all types who normally have been outcasted for a reason (you know, an actual reason other than a bullshit one like you're poor/nerdy/whatever) will now (and did) flock to the juggalo community. Over time the cracks in the family philosophy started to show, when you had idiots and dirtbags doing dumb and terrible shit, and then the media would cover it, often finding out that they were Juggalos and then making that fact front and center of their media coverage of whatever they did. Example, two "Juggalos" here in NM in 2014 r-worded and then hacked a woman to death with hatchets. When they were discovered and brought in by the police, they were wearing fuckin' hatchetgear. Incidents like this occurring all over the country is what led people to believe Juggalos are pieces of shit when most of us are just regular fucking people who did nothing at all. Then, to make shit even worse somehow, groups of famkids started getting together and calling themselves gangs. Ever wonder where the FBI got the idea in their head to stick us on that stupid ass list? Well, it didn't come outta fuckin thin air - it was because of a bunch of famkids being morons. Because of that list, and by extension because of famkids, Juggalos now face ENDLESS fucking trouble from every direction. Again, the family idea was the worst thing to happen to this community. I was going to include some more things that I noticed changed, but realized how long I went on a rant against the family shit for that this comment has probably gone on for long enough. If people want to know more I'll be happy to reply on changes from my general era (98-08) to nowadays, but to prevent this from turning into a wall of text I'm going to cut the comment here. If you made it this far, godspeed. EDIT: I thought I should probably include here, that I'm not saying there's anything wrong with showing love to other Juggalos you meet/see. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. I just think that there are a lot of people out there who took the family aspect way to far, and I do think Twiztid is partially to blame for that, because for a long time they acted like they would go out of their way to help random Juggalos. I even remember Jamie Madrox saying about how he'd let a Juggalo that's down on their luck stay with him for a few. Yeh, lol. Maybe that was true at one point (as unlikely as that is) but it sure as hell isn't now.
Thank you so much, I should tell you the horror story that I had connecting with people because of the family idea, I would love to hear more about your particular experiences, you sound like a sane individual, and by the way, this idiot video seriously pisses me off, because he disrespected my culture, and even my family with this stupid shit.

@@humbleamong I really think you're on to something with the Heyoka theory, even if Shaggy and Violent J aren't necessarily conscience of the connection, if these things are spirits, a juggalo could be the spirits expressing themselves

i think your heyoka connection might not actually be all too crazy, as shaggy himself is half native. perhaps they were inspired by heyokas, either indirectly or not
If that’s what it is then f if I know. Be good to hear your own personal backstory and such. Cut a pb promo, shoot from the hip. Emilee could do one too. A lot of folks are probably just here for you and her. I also look forward to more concert footage and songs. Do a series about each album and get into the songs like Rick Beato. Interview with guys who did the beats, production, and such. I can’t be the only one interested in the inner workings, bts of making music and what it means to you the artist. Like what are your fave albums or influences? I want inside your mind, I’m a fiend like Bray Wyatt.
Something to think about heyokas shaggy 2 dope has native American in him why the reasoning behind black and white paint ? Something about all of this just makes sense
You are such a leader you impress me on your wits please keep telling me about this church and false gods you're talking about I like them Bratz not in the same manner
I don't think your analogy comparing Juggalos to sacred clowns or Heyoka to really work. Sacred clowns are a religious order who provided an invited and expected part of public festivities and religious events. They did have license within their societies to satire and break norms to a degree, but also had to take the paint off and go back to regular life the next day. If we substitute "sacred" with "serious", a fair comparison to sacred clowns in modern Ameircan life would be the White House correspondents' dinner where comedians roasted the president directly. Juggalos are a subculture evolved out of a musical fandom. Deadheads, Phish fans, some of the hyphenated-punks, Juggalos are like them. I also agree with the class component as a frequent feature of Juggalos. From the rust belt to the rest of the post-industrial wasteland around the world, Juggalos are frequently working class or poor. With that, many also lack access to needed medical care. MCL. I tried to keep it short.
I mean it's giving them a bit of credit I think to think ICP did all this anthropological study and figured out what Heyokas were then based their entire brand around it but if they did, they're geniuses. Maybe they just intuitively knew this somehow or something. I dunno. I think the reality is ICP didn't mean to create the Juggalo fanbase as it is today, the whole concept of family and love in contrast to their extremely dark lyrics at face value. I think the Juggalos built that themselves and then ICP capitalized on it.
Definitely is not lure!!!! I was there since carnival of carnage I know everyone says this but literally no one liked ICP when I was listening to them!!! Absolutely no one at all!!!!
I don't rock the paint, but I got love for scrubs and Wraith of ShangriLa kicked me all over my ass. Whoop whoop, we ain't cousins, but we are damned good neighbors.
I don't know if you're offending natives but I heard there were a lot of ICP fans up in northern Arizona amongst the Navajo. Not sure though. I've been near, but never actually on the Navajo Nation. But then, I'm not sure what actually attracts them to the fam. Not sure if it's the tribalism, the music, sacred clowns or just having an excuse to run around with a tomahawk. Hehe
I live in Arizona , it's hard to NOT see juggalos on every reservation you go to here and when u go to a show in AZ the crowd is almost nothing but natives and all my native homies are juggalos
Here in Montana on the Blackfeet reservation theres alot of brown skinned Juggalos like myself. its the poorest scrubbiest reservation in Montana. im Séliš/Blackfeet myself. we everywhere #NativePride Whoop whoop #Brownpride
Nice video I can relate to what your trying to make of it. Heyokas is not a term I'm most indefinitely not familiar with. The clown you show is called a "Koyala" clown society in Tewa Pueblo Culture in which I am initiated and a apart of. It's very sacred indeed and had to watch to see what you u said. I'm Tewa/ Hopi kwa kwai thx n plz reach out it was informative but misleading maybe I can clear things up.
I think this is a great video. I very much enjoy it. I don't like it when people put labels on us. I'm a gatekeeper when it comes to some things. But I feel like with this hobby we don't really need the gatekeep. At least I don't anymore. So I like that the definition is just a mega fan of icp. Cuz I feel as though that's the best definition and once we start getting into anything else. We're probably going to lose some people along the way. I don't want to lose anybody. I also like your theory about the sacred clowns. Very cool idea. Hopefully one day you will meet Violent J and Shaggy and you can tell them about the sacred clowns. It isn't in behind the paint. But there is another book about ICP that says that I think it was Joe bruce. Violent J's brother he was going on stage with them one night. And he yelled at the crowd and called them juggalos. And then that's how it got started but it isn't in behind the paint. It's in another book that I can't remember the name of. But the guy was like writing it I think a few months ago. So the book isn't even out yet
@@humbleamong There is a part about the origin of the word in Behind the Paint. It's right around the beginning of when he starts talking about going into music, after the end of the chapters when they were training to be pro wrestlers. J says it happened around the Ringmaster era when they were doing a show. Just re-read through those first few chapters after the wrestling section and you'll find it.
I am from Medicine Route, I come from the pine ridge, Indian reservation. I am Oglala Lakota, and you comparing this Juggalo subculture to a thunder dreamer, you were insinuating things that you do not understand, you don't understand what a Hayoka is, first of all, if you do not come from one of the nations of the seven Council fires, you are not a Hayoka, this is all we need, some foolish white man, trying to trivialize one of our most powerful and sacred dream societies because you think that some white man in Detroit could possibly be one, there are things that make you a thunder dreamer, there are things that connect you to them, that you would not ever be able to comprehend, I will not go into it here, so you need to face it Juggalos are not Hayokas, saying this, you are disrespecting my family, you are disrespecting the bloodline I come from, you are disrespecting, so many, Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota People. And you're not even pronouncing the word right.
Ok I have to correct you on the word Heyoka and how you say it and please don't take this as me being a asshole, but it is said Heyoka, the first part He is said like hey and then yo ka Heyoka, It is a lakota word for scared clown, how you said it would be spelled Hiyoka. Sorry I'm Lakota and I had to correct you on the saying of the word. The heyoka is a kind of sacred clown in the culture of the Lakota of the Great Plains of North America. The heyoka is a contrarian, jester, and satirist, who speaks, moves and reacts in an opposite fashion to the people around them. So it's He (Hey) yo ka. Sorry if I sound like a dick that is not my intention I just like to educate others on things i do know about and have been around. Mitákuye Oyás'iŋ

Interview with guys who did the beats, production, and such. I can’t be the only one interested in the inner workings, bts of making music and what it means to you the artist. Like what are your fave albums or influences? I want inside your mind, I’m a fiend like Bray Wyatt.
Dope video they do make a connection huh
Never heard of that before. I wonder if the clowns know about this
Very insightful. Great job
I've done lot's of research on Heyokas never thought I'd see a video on it here ! ❤😈

Ah fuck! Now I want to fix that! 😅🤣
Something to think about heyokas shaggy 2 dope has native American in him why the reasoning behind black and white paint ? Something about all of this just makes sense
That’s why I put Shaggy in the thumbnail!
The scrub thing reminds me of Die Antword and their "Zeff" culture.
I did a book report in highschool. The book was called 'Sacred Clown's', I picked it because I've been down with the clown since '93!

So that’s where jugaloo came from
So the average age must be climbing?
Is a younger band kinda follows in the footsteps?
🎪 whoop 💎2tha whoop 💎 🎪
Whoop whoop!
Wow that's deep I know what you mean
Whoop whoop indeed.
Indeed!
I've considered much the same in the past... McL ninja.
Do a coverage of inner city possee
whoop whoop
Whoop whoop
Dope
sacred clown indeed
10. Empathallo jayy whas in th crowwd an he called th crowwd jugxling juggalos messin with th word juggla.

Its not easy to explain aye.
If you a real Juggalo you know. Don't need to be xplained
@@toddufojuggalorider9947 very true but would be satisfied with being able
Buckethead as well...all heyoka
Not just Navajo but every tribe out here is full of juggalos
Here in Montana on the Blackfeet reservation theres alot of brown skinned Juggalos like myself. its the poorest scrubbiest reservation in Montana. im Séliš/Blackfeet myself. we everywhere #NativePride Whoop whoop #Brownpride
Yes we are most definitely sacred clowns
Can you please tell this Ouija Cheesy Macc, especially the beginning of your vid

@@humbleamong wee-wee g seems to make fun of broke people a lot
@@humbleamong meanwhile he belongs on b.e.t. only
He just don't care he might try to put a weave in his nut hair!
Gigolo or Juggalo ??😮
Nice video I can relate to what your trying to make of it. Heyokas is not a term I'm most indefinitely not familiar with. The clown you show is called a "Koyala" clown society in Tewa Pueblo Culture in which I am initiated and a apart of. It's very sacred indeed and had to watch to see what you u said. I'm Tewa/ Hopi kwa kwai thx n plz reach out it was informative but misleading maybe I can clear things up.
Juggalette is def not unnecessary. I love that crap.
That was the story I was trying to find. Maybe it will be in J Webbs book?
@@humbleamong probably. I don't know we're going to have to read one of the books and figure it out.
Heyokalos.
Looking at the comments, where are the actual juggalos? Y'all know this ain't right.
Zprofesser In da haaa
Tj college speech >
No offense taken. Thank you for correcting me.
Mmmman! Idk. I'm pretty sure you coulda said juggalo a few more times.
