Understand Reinforced Concrete Design - Analysis of RC Sections - BS8110

  • This video explains in very clear way the principals of the analysis of reinforced concrete section under flexural loads. It shows the strain and stress distribution across the section at different load levels in a very clear and interesting way. The code used is the BS8110 (British Standards). However the same concept is used by all design codes such as the ACI318 (American Standards) and the CSA code (Canadian Standards) and all design codes.

    Thanks for the videos. they are the best out there. They are even better from the courses provided at university. Most of lecutres, they just use the code to solve problems which does not help to really understand why we are doing something. Keep doing the good job. And if you can make videos about bridge design in the future ,it will help many of us. Thanks again !!!!

    Slip of the tongue perhaps when you said at the beginning that above the neutral axis we have tensile stresses and below that compression stresses.

    Sir, I want to ask for Fc. You're using Fc= 0.45fcu.s.b but we using (my teacher anda us) Fc=0.85fcd#(alpha)Kxbd. Where is the difference coming from? Sorry for the writing style its hard to write formulas in here. Thank you for video.
