The scene about the lily's and the pond gives a whole new meaning after the ending of the movie and it's a clever way to hint at a twist that's yet to be revealed at that point.
@@nemesis5271 I also need to look back on the 3rd Shrek movie. Apparantly, when the queen bashes a wall with her head, she gets dizzy and starts singing 'these are a few of my favorite things' from Sound of Music.
Fun fact: Julie Andrews actually played the part of two queens in one year. 1. Shrek 2 2. The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (well, until Mia followed in her footsteps as Queen of Genovia)
Shrek 2 is one of the most, no to say the best, but is yeah is the best animated movie ever... every line, every situation is amazing and I can't get tired of watching it over and over again and I loooove to hear Julie Andrews' playing Fiona's Mother
i just need to put it here haha mary poppins being friends with minerva mcgonagall (Maggie Smith) and was hated by Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris)... i cant help it.. all the HP connection hahaha
Yes! Love it! Great pairing! 😃 I must admit it’s really unusual for VO artists to be recording their lines together in the same room though. I wonder why that happened. 🤷♀️ Normally they’d be alone or in separate booths. Doesn’t matter though. It made it easier for them.
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas in one single film? Then accompanied by John Cleese ( The classic Phyton ) and Julie Andrews? AWESOME FILM!
This movie was excellent. The discrimination against ogres was meant to represent discrimination against interracial couples. It was very clever in drawing that parallel.
I dont think it was anything to with race, it's not that specific. Shrek 1 was about accepting yourself no matter what and shrek 2 builds on that whilst adding an amazing adventure too
how can it represent discrimination against interracial couples if they're both ogres (yeah yeah, of course she was a human, but it would be interracial stuff if she remained human)
That’s NOT funny! I read you comment and panicked. I googled and nope, John Cleese is still alive and kickin’! (I also learned he’s younger than Andrews.)
i love julie so much such a beautiful soul she is her voice is just something else she was fabulous as mary and maria i agree with dyke van dyke emily blunt was good but no one can replace julie andrews ❤
The reason why King Harold couldn’t accept Shrek marriage to Fiona as ogre, is only because he’s afraid that the fairy godmother would take away his happily ever-after as he was a Frog.
this kind of reminds me of the scene of George of the jungle when ursala,s parents know It,s her choice dad is just happy but mom however is just not to happy about it for example like king Harold said in shrek 2 Fiona has married a monster and his wife said stop such being a drama king but the parents of ursala,s mom is like our daughter has married an animal and her husband is like oh stop being such a drama queen
Julie Andrew Queen Lillian, And John Cleese King Harold has been Married for 20 years of bringing of character Fiona Parent's Cameron Diaz, Married Shrek Mike Myers.
Julie and John really look believable as a couple married for over 20 years. They are really _perfect_ the these characters.
@Sigmund: Which is why they had 3 movies as Fiona’s parental units.
(They should have had more screen time, if you ask me.)
They should have made a movie about them
BolgerGirl
yess, and how they met. That would be awesome (the princess and the frog).
Well Julie Andrews does have that royal voice which does suit her role very well
You know, though, that in real life Julie Andrews and John Cleese have never been married to one another.
"Oh, Harold, Stop being such a Drama King." - Julie Andrews
Drama King
When Julie puts her hands together I can’t help but think of the sound of music.

You're right!

@@timrob12 indeed she hummed my fave things with a spoonful mashup at the beginning. Can't help but search it and hear it for myself!
@@diannemarierivera5565 I love jokes like that.
This movie was literally perfect
Fax
I find Donkey's chaacter very wearing. I know thats the point, but too much. Love Julie of course (-:
Julie Andrews is forever a natural Queen.
Fun fact: Julie Andrews actually played the part of two queens in one year.
1. Shrek 2
2. The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (well, until Mia followed in her footsteps as Queen of Genovia)
She's my queen
Well she is indeed a QUEEN! 🥰
Julie Andrews could read the Terms & Conditions and make it sound beautiful.
Shrek 2 is one of the most, no to say the best, but is yeah is the best animated movie ever... every line, every situation is amazing and I can't get tired of watching it over and over again and I loooove to hear Julie Andrews' playing Fiona's Mother
Julie is precious
Mary Poppins and Nearly Headless Nick. They are a great combination.

Love listening to Julie, even more awesome to watch her doing it. She is a queen
"stop being such a drama king" such a good line haha
John Cleese as King Harold is casting of the century
Her laughter!!!! OMG!
I love John Cleese and Julie Andrews Mary Poppins and Basel are legends
I love Julie, she’s truly a queen
I Love Julie .She is the best actor
Okie Julie and Jennifer made shrek 2 the best Movie ever !!!!!!
John Cleese and Julie Andrews would not have been my choices for parents of a Cameron Diaz character, but somehow it works in the Shrek franchise.
Julie Andrews just has this elegance about her that's so effortless. It's like she comes from a royal family. It looks so natural. ❤

I love how supportive the queen was toward Shrek and Fiona!
Oh, we know.
I just love how the shrek series has two Monty python members in its cast
One of the only times the sequel was as great as the first movie
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas in one single film? Then accompanied by John Cleese ( The classic Phyton ) and Julie Andrews? AWESOME FILM!
Mary Poppins and Basil Fawlty. Who'd of thought
Julie Andrews aged like wine. She stills look great to this day.
You ever realize Julie always playing a queen role . Or is it just me
I love Julie Andrews!
Oh my god I just realised Julia was the queen!
Queen Clarisse gave up her throne to marry Headless Nick 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When you realise Cadwell, Jasper, and Nearly Headless Nick are voicing the King of Far Far Away, it really blows your mind

It's funny because Julie is a household name in Disney and here she is voicing a character at Dreamworks. Such fun
Julie Andrews and John Cleese are just a dream 🎉🎉
She is perfect as mary poppins too
Julie and John worked so great together
Sir Lancelot the brave has become a king!!
funny.... Jullie Andrews was the Original Queen Guinevere... so this is where the both of them run to and left Arthur hahahahaha
I love John Cleese
RIP for the king harold aka John Cleese.
That’s NOT funny! I read you comment and panicked. I googled and nope, John Cleese is still alive and kickin’!

The King died at the beginning of Shrek 3
John is alive
@@TheJulieAndrewsArchive John Cleese is alive and well
The character itself died in Shrek 3, but in person, John Cleese is alive and well. He's a really good actor.

Julie Andrews queen Clarisse Renaldi
They got a Monty Python member to play in this movie
Nice to see they get along, considering John once joked on Monty Python about setting fire to Julie Andrews.
I'm 28 year old and I'm watching Shrek
Only now I knew Fiona was Cameron Diaz 👀.
OH MY GOD ITS JASPER FROM FABLE III
Basel and Mary Poppins
Love shrek movies
1:13 I’m god smacked
gob*
Can hear nearly headless nick
Cause John Cleese Plays both people
When is saw them in real life I genuinely thought it was the animated character doing a voice over
The reason why King Harold couldn’t accept Shrek marriage to Fiona as ogre, is only because he’s afraid that the fairy godmother would take away his happily ever-after as he was a Frog.
Behind the scenes
Because in Shrek forever after Queen Lillian doesn’t trust the fairy godmother she knew that fairy godmother was a bad influence.
Julie Andrews Remebers John Denver They Sang Together
Mary Poppins and Basil Fawlty make a great couple lol
"Our daughter married a monster" But Harold you're a toad!!!!!!!
Omg so true!
No, he was still a human when he said that.
Literally Mary Poppins and Sir Lancelot the Brave
The fact she was OG Queen Guinevere in Camelot Broadway play... bfore she was Mary Poppins hahaha
The sequel about a gassy ogre never dies. 🤣

They're almost like saying the same thing, but different opposites of what they're saying.
If dancing with the stars make another season julie andrews can do guest judge if they have movie night when they danced to julie can guest judge
