Hello, Blue Rose!
It was a sad scene to think about, write and shoot. It was a dramatic event intended to really trigger the protagonist to bring his karate skills to light at a time it was needed the most. In the beginning we show a picture for a moment of him in a karate uniform to foreshadow his combative response later on
