- We are delighted to announce an event to discuss the best practices and future direction on sustainable investment with; Alan Edington - Investment Manager, Responsible Investment at Walter Scott & Partners; Stewart Langdon - Partner, Leapfrog Investments; and Zach Stein, CEO and Co-founder of Carbon Collective.
The speakers are joining us to share their thoughts on how the investment community has responded to recent sustainable investment practices. They will also provide their outlook on the industry, assessing future trends but also discussing discrepancies between countries, particularly, the idea of sustainability from a western and eastern perspective.
Reaching suitable levels of sustainability requires a radical transformation that touches upon a multitude of socio-technical systems unbounded by national lines. The financial sector has seen an explosion in ESG practices in the hope of shifting well-cemented practices. Given the central position of the industry as a source of finance, it plays an important role in allowing organisations to survive and grow.
Paradigmatic shifts are required by portfolio managers as they adjust their time horizons and consider stakeholder implications whilst maintaining suitable growth for their clients. The stewardship role of investment managers has developed from one that aids their clients in capital appreciation to a multifaceted approach with ever-changing best practices.
