Should have included details about that - it's simply cutting at lower power, that will just "score" the cardboard instead of fully cut it, making for easy folding.
I guess that could work too yes but I tried to keep cutting at a minimum - it produces less "residue" from cutting. The fold lines could also be hidden inside.

I assume that took some trial and error. I was thinking of a dotted or dashed line cutting all the way through might work too.
