This was FANTASTIC! Thank you so much! I came just for a list of verbs, but learned so much more!!!
it's freaking weird when i'm Vietnamese and i'm watching this by choice. Dafu!
This video is great, but maybe keep all examples simple so the focus is more on the use of the verb and there is not so much distraction with all the other words that the audience, most likely beginners, have not come across before.
But sincerely thank you for this, I am starting to learn Vietnamese since being in HCM for work and this is really helpful there are not enough videos like this on YT!
Thank you :)
YES! THIS X 100!
Thank you very much for this video.
The 25 verbs are very basic and useful.
But some of the example sentences are too complicated for beginners, often not very practical neither.
My”nguoi bán tôt nhât” of 40 years met me two weeks after getting here …..it was so awesome meeting his mom five years ago and being able to speak with her….she knew who I was immediately …..these lessons are showing me how much I actually forgot after a few years of not speaking it
Best video I’ve seen on your platform
Linh and pod 101....please do more of these, this style...just please speak clearly Linh on the example sentences....but format is good and helpful...and I think good to include intermediate content (with respect to comments below) ... there is an abundance of beginner Viet lessons on YT but a big lack of intermediate, you can bridge these two...well done, give us more please.
Love the speaking speed of Linh! Best of the best
Very well done. Thank you.
I really appreciated this video. You did the effort to pronounce each of the sentences once slowly, grouping the words together. My only remark would be on the difficulty of some of the examples. I had to google quite a lot of vocabulary, for some of the words I couldn't even find the meaning so I ended up skipping them. You should try to reduce the number of words you use in the video, and to introduce each of the words the first time you use them.
Very helpfull lesson. Some examples are difficult to understand but you explain clearly.
Thank's for your time.
You are. Inspiring Teacher 👩🏫
Thank You 🙏 deeply
I love ❤️ everything about Vietnam 🇻🇳
非常棒的视频,例句都非常好而且很实用,难度适中。
Excellent, thanks!
Hi there I'm From India I am watching your video it's very useful thank you very much
Really good! Thank God I found this channel.
Thank you so much for these useful verbs! I'll travel to Vietnam this summer and I hope I can talk better to the family of my girlfriend! 😁
But some sentences are quite difficult for beginners.
Anyway.. Cảm ơn quá!!
Thank you very much
Thank you
Em noi tieng anh rat tot , thanks for sharing tieng viet lesson , cam on !
thank youuuuu
Hello all you guys. Thank you for sharing something interesting.
It would be helpful if you explain why "lá" is sometimes omitted. From what I understand, you're talking about the fact that we use the verb "to be" with adjectives in English but not in Vietnamese. So in your example, we would just say "the sky blue" or we could say "girl beautiful" and that would be a complete sentence since there are also no articles (the/a/an) in Vietnamese. However, I cannot say "My mom doctor" because doctor is a noun and not an adjective.
@Zip Zenac Yes, thank you!!
Well, you can say it like that if you want. Usually we'll understand by context. It's just an informal way of speaking so you can day it or not if you want as long as the person you're speaking to will understand from context.
Very clear explaining sentence
Thanks,great videos,I am learning a lot,with videos one can learn a language
Cám ơn!
Hello it s a pleasure to hear you. However, the sentences in VN and English are hidden by the automatic voice recorder . Could you move the text in front or on the right or the left of the speaker instead or below? Many thanks.
you can remove the recorder by clicking on CC "closed captions" on your screen...
I really learned alot from you.
Whenever i come back to hanoi will invite you for a coffee. ^^
Excellent video. Many thanks.
well done and helpful, thank you.
Nice lesson 👍
Thanks, great work. Maybe, you can use more simple examples for beginners.
謝謝老師教學
Thank you - very nice teaching
I like your lessons. I would like to learn Han Viet words because I can speak Chinese. It's easier for me to learn these words.
Cảm ơn rất nhiều Linh
Very good teacher
I would like to learn the southern accent. Also, I commented on the word" ban "with the dot under the a. The way miss Linh pronounces it the n sounds like a t and I asked about it but got no response so I'm a little confused. I was planning a trip to Vietnam next year but with Covid too risky, don't want to be in a lockdown and in a hotel for 14 days. But there's plenty of Vietnamese here to converse with. I just don't know where to start with the learning.
"bạn" is a deep low and short sound on the "ạ". She stops and doesn't pronounce the "n" at the end. In Vietnamese, a lot of ending letters are muted. Start with knowing each sound. You need to know how to write from start. That's very important because the accents are changing the meaning of a word. Then you can learn the tones. You should start with the basics to present yourself (your name, where you are from, your age, your work, why you want to learn Vietnamese...), you should of course do a dialog back to another person (Question/answer), understand the hierarchy of the people (old persons, person your age, person a little younger, kids), count, tell the time, the colors,... if you will travel to Vietnam, you should learn the food-related vocabulary, ask directions, take a hotel room, ask for the price. then you are on the way. For the Southern accent, I suggest you find people with Zalo (Vietnamese WhatsApp, everyone has Zalo in Vietnam) or on HelloTalk (exchange between people) ask the people if they are from the South. Linh made a couple of lessons explaining the Southern accent. Linh is a great teacher. In the beginning, you will feel lost when you hear how fast Vietnamese talk. Linh tells slow speed the normal (fast) speed
sedang in my language in vietnamese dang
sudah in vietnamese da
the vietnamese put those words before verbs. we do too.
good job , lot of help
i am indonesian, the vietnamese grammar is similar to our language
Thank you.
Very helpful !!
Video is good but - complicated example sentences for basic verbs
Thank you very much !!!
thanks
I would like you speak Vietnamese more slowly please.
You can adjust the video speed in UA-cam if that works for you.
Lam on noi cham lai
Thank you!
first one kinda confused. it was to go, to be. but the actually meaning is "is". my mom to be a doctor, means she isnt one yet big difference?
Linh you are the best. However I'm getting some stupid auto translation in white letters In a black text box in English come up and cover over both the Vietnamese and English you put up and half the time the auto translation is wrong. Is this a UA-cam thing? Either way it's getting in the way of learning.
This video super helping me to study Vietnamese!!!! Thank you so much :)
7:41 ( don't forget to write down in notes)
thich. do you need to say it out the CH at the end?
Hello sir I am from India
Would appreciate if you can speak slowly and also use short sentences instead of long ones so that learners can catch up with u. Else it just becomes an exercise to pick up 25 verbs and find its usage elsewhere. Thank you.

very good
My question I have heard so much about north, middle and south dialects would the northern viet understand the south viet or vice versa? please answer I would like to know kinda confused which ones should I take right now IMO im liking the way you talk fast paced because real people will reply to you in a fast natural way.
Hi, hoping this answer didn't come too late.
The short version is that yes, the northerners and southerners do understand each others. I'm pretty sure that (due to prominence) Central vnese also understand these two accents, but not vice versa.
The Hanoi accent is the "proper" way to talk. It's what you'd hear on TV, in published writing, in (most) politicians and in this video. They e-nun-ci-ate the heck out of words.
The Southern accent is more relaxed compared to the North. This might be because I'm from the south, but I'd say learn the southern dialect. In the South as a whole, the language diverges much less compared to other regions. People in HCMC, esp younger ones, also frequently use English in everyday speech. They don't emphasize precision as much as effective communication. As a bonus, I've also heard people describe the Saigon accent as dễ thương (cute) but i really wouldn't know :))
Now, Central Vietnam, they've got a ton of different dialects and a strong accent. It's so hard to understand if you're not from the region, even for other Vietnamese.
hasn't it occured to you to right a translation over every word? you'd get so many more views
In example 16 the first sentence says "I don't see Ling anywhere" but where is "nhin"? what translates to "see" in this sentence?
I hope it's not too late but the word "see" in this case is "thấy"
Toi dang de day. I like those words :)
I want to learned your language please
My brain hurts. Your a great teacher.
🤣
Love your lessons, unfortunately the Voice to Text is out of synch and putting incorrect words up.
Hi. Which accent is best for a forreigner to learn? Northern or southern?
Might be a late response but it depends on where or which part of Vietnam you’re traveling to, since both are so different from one another it would be best to stick to one or the other based on the side you’re visiting.
@@cocochanel377 Never too late. I want to travel through all Vietnam, both north and south. And central. This part too has its own dialect, so I heard. Does all of Vietnam understand english?
❤
okay
You're quite attractive and your English is very good .. I wish for you a great success!
chi co = what does it mean?
Is you mean "chỉ có"?
it maybe mean only
Is this Northern dialect?
yes this is Northern
Please give the literal translation to each sentence
Người việt học tiếng việt bằng tiếng anh
*Hears number 11*
me: hehehehe
is it northern accent please ?
Yes, it is
I'm Vietnamese and why am I watching this video???
To^i la'm theo ba'i ho.c cu'a ba.n....william rome italy
So beautiful. My friend I love you so. I Like you. I. Miss.. Ripley Den please
"I’m going to work in an hour" should be "Một tiếng nữa thì tôi sẽ đi làm" not "Tôi sẽ đi làm trong một tiếng nữa". No Vietnamese will ever ever say the second sentence. Vietnamesepod101, you are following the English word order too closely, and it makes your Vietnamese sound really unatural.
cả hai đều đúng mà
I appreciate your channel, but your ad frequency is out of control. I've seen at least 8 ads in 15 minutes. Sorry but I can't watch your channel anymore. :(
Ćàm òń
(1 of 2) I am both a Linguistics and a Gender Studies major. I also care about equality. Therefore, I need to please point out heterosexism in this video. You assume in your examples that a woman would only want to marry a man and vice versa. By not being inclusive in your language, you are discriminating against marginalized communities and making them feel unrepresented. Please correct your video. From now on, when you produce a video, remember that men marry men and women marry women also. ...
Make your sentences shorter please
you speaking too fast .. slow down so we can hear the pronunciation ...also your sentences are to long. When I teach 6-8 year olds i use simple phrases like ..."the apple is red' .. or ''i like grapes'' .."i work hard" ....works wonders to establish good foundation. This is more intermediate ....
English translation/explanation is rather poor and not very exacting
(2 of 2) ... Sadly, I understand that in Vietnam, same-sex marriage may not yet be recognized. Yet, there is no excuse for not using inclusive language in your videos. Not only do all countries need to change their laws to reflect science and protect sexual minorities and other persecuted groups, but you are teaching Vietnamese in the English language. Gladly, in most English-speaking countries, same-sex marriage is already recognized. You are then undoubtedly ignoring some of your viewers' marriages. Next time you produce a video, please remember that women marry women and men marry men also.
