    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому

      Well, technically if you are JUST looking to learn “PHP”, and not “how to make websites”, then basic HTML is fine. 🙂 You just need to know enough, to know how HTML and PHP interacts with one another, to submit and show data. But I do recommend learning HTML first, since it will be slightly more challenging to get into PHP, without knowing it.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому

      Hehe yup 😂 it’s an endless grind. But at least a framework like Laravel, is the “finish line” for getting a job as PHP developer, if the goal is to apply for a job. Raw PHP isn’t enough 🙂
      Of course you can always continue learning more after Laravel, but it’s at least a point where you can now call yourself a PHP developer. 🙂

    Dani your videos are awesome❤..... I humbly ask if you could make a video on "REST api" especially how to fetch, update, delete, post data using JS in the frontend and PHP in the backend... I am a frontend dev and usually fetch data from backend using js and then generate html, but as I see many tutors on youtube kinda mix php html and javascript altogether which makes it messy for a newbie like me....Anyway thanks a lot, it is just a humble request...😊

    Is PHP still worth learning for newbies?

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому +1

      If your plan is to use it for web development, then yes 👍 PHP is by far the leading language for backend web development 🙂 up to 80% of websites are created using PHP.

    • @jglitse
      @jglitse Місяць тому

      @@Dani_Krossing I appreciate your response so much 🙏. I'm asking this because over the past few years it's all over the internet that PHP is dead.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому +2

      Yes that is a very popular thing to hear online hehe. It is in no way true. 🙂
      The reason some loud people online, like to preach that “PHP is dead”, is because PHP used to be bad back when it was before version 5… Which as you can guess, is YEARS ago hehe… but the current PHP 8 is MUCH improved, modern, and up to date. 🙂 So because those people newer bothered checking it out again later on, once the newer versions released, they are spreading misinformation… 😕
      Another reason people “hate PHP”, is because it’s primarily a “web development language”. So some out there will tell you that “languages like Python are better”, without actually considering the use case, and “what people need to do with the language”…
      If you are a web developer, PHP is better 🙂

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому +12

      Hey 🙂 no problem, I always welcome constructive criticism. The reason I love to go into detail (to some viewers, too much), is because my videos cater to people who struggle a bit more than others.
      So I want to make sure that all my viewers feel like they can watch my videos, and understand something that is very technical, which they otherwise have a hard time understanding when watching the other tutorials out there. 😊
      And unfortunately, this leaves some viewers feeling like “I talk too much” hehe. 🙂
      I will keep explaining in detail in future videos, since this is what differentiates my channel from other content creators. But I’ll try and leave timestamps for people who like you, might wanna fast forward a bit. 🙂

      @Dani_Krossing  Місяць тому

      Hehe, well I’ll let you in on a small secret 🤫 if you wanna work as a freelance web developer, you can also go the PHP -> CMS route, without learning a framework. 🙂 CMS systems like Wordpress have lots of plugins, for things like a login system, which has expert developers behind them. And in order to customise Wordpress sites, you only need to know procedural PHP. 😉 The only downside is that plugins are not 100% safe to use, since anyone can just create and upload them.
      However, if you want a job in a firm, as a PHP developer, then frameworks are required. 👍 Plus frameworks are created by well known experts, and not 3rd party plugin creators. 🙂 so definitely the best route to go, if you are willing to put the effort into learning it.
      So it’s a give and take… if you plan on being serious as a developer, then a framework is better than a CMS. 😊
