Crooked was right about this: "how can I trust you to finance Slaughter when you can't even call me" Joe budden is someone you don't ever take face value from.
You wanted a bigger cut on the tour than us bc you were on love n hiphop...what would it look like, if you financed/owned it... joe has a HISTORY w this shit. Simply put. These guys arnt as close as they claimed to be. And they simply dont trust joe to be parts of contracts. Bc he has a history of not honoring contracts... and dicking over his partners.
In all honesty, how are people a fan of Budden? Dude double talks on everything and think he’s on some level above everyone. Exactly why Raekwon and crew humbled him
He’s entertaining and he speaks his mind. Too many scary mfs out here don’t say what they feel cuz they wanna protect their relationships. Joe doesn’t gaf

So basically, this is how I interpret it. Joe was holding the slaughterhouse name hostage by saying he’s retired. The reality of all of this is doing business with people that move like Joe does is painful. I worked in private equity, I know what capital hostages look like, and this seems to be the case here. It appears that it’s either Joes’ slaughterhouse or no slaughterhouse. They went on without his approval or consent or agreement to contractual obligations and now he’s mad because he didn’t okay it. Joe can shit on it all he wants but he played chicken and lost.
Like Ortiz was saying on the live, it’s just as much his story as Joe’s but Joe DEFINITELY doesn’t want to hear that because it can’t possibly be about someone else too. Joe seems like the worst kind of friend.
After what happened between Joe, Rory & Mal, why would Crooked & Joel trust Joe to finance a Slaughterhouse album and think the residuals would be divided fairly????
When you watch the jpb or watch Joe's comical appearances in places you may not remember that this dude put everything on the line to switchup his career. If any of y'all ever had to redact everything in life and start building from brick one whilst breaking the bank you'd understand Joe's language.
You could be wrong on one thing and right about another. I don’t see what Joe and Royce did wrong in this current slaughter house situation. Sounds like Crook and Joel let their emotions drive them in this situation.
You can never correct joe or corner him bc he'll either deny, pivot or change the narrative as if he was speaking from a different context, he didn't 'understand' the original context...
If all Joe said was he was hurt at them releasing this there would be no problem. But in addition to the hurt he called them liars, questioned their character, claimed they were just chasing the bag and moving nasty. This is where the problems arise at the name calling and back and forth. No one would say anything bad to Joe saying he is hurt
But they called him and Royce liars questioned their motives and could never respond properly to the claims of chasing a bag. Remember 3 sides to a story Your side Their side The truth
@@DanielGarciaNYC but of course they are "chasing the bag" but as musical artists it's your job to release music and make money. The fact that it's been so many years since their last collective project I believe they had been trying for a long time to get everyone together.
Joe wanted to finance Slaughter House for one reason. Not because he wanted to partner with slaughterhouse members. It was because he wanted to own slaughterhouse.
That's not how ownership works 😂😂😂 it would make him executive producer. But if he is financing the project he's taking ALL THE RISK so YES he should get the bulk share and paid first. Thats how business works. Y'all don't listen to anything dame dash has been saying about funding your own sheeit???
That, and his pride over trying to be “better” than the white rapper. He’s bitter that they all work with Em now, he was bitter when all three members did the I Will song with him and it’s just escalated from there.
Joe acts like he doesn’t care but he’s been banging on about it since they dropped the songs. Always tryna act the bigger person yet is petty in his ways
He's banging on about it because he is NOT controlling the narrative about what happened. And that is driving him nuts. Notice how when nobody was speaking on it BUT Joe, he was fine and cool, some would even say "rational and calm"? But now that Crook and Joell are saying THEIR side of the events, Joe is out here banging the drum trying to direct the narrative and focus on one or two "moments' instead of the last 10 years.
@@herrzimm its not about the last 10 years. For a good, 8 of those years, Joe was telling them about the business side. And it took Joe to take a stand against Shady for the rest of the group to realize, oh, this IS bad business.
I see both sides of this and both sides have good points..Royce wuhn down unless Joe was involved, and Joe wasnt involved unless the business was proper which is understandable. Crook and Joell was ready to rock and Crook was willing to talk to Joe regarding the business deal. Joe either neglected or refused to call Crook to discuss the deal which, to Crook and Joell, was an evident sign of refusal to move forward with the deal. And the more Joe talks, the more he reveals that he was not feeling the deal and also did not want to talk to Crook because he is always trying to get him to be apart of some deal that Joe wants no part of. Royce is caught in the middle because to his knowledge Joe never verbally refused the deal, however Joe's silence signaled a refusal to Crook and Joell. That's just the way I see it. In the modern music world labels or executive producers want 360 deals...meaning they take money all the way around (every aspect)...from streams, concert tours, merchandise, publishing, clothing lines, and other ventures. They would have been smart to jointly finance it or have Joe finance the project so they can all retain brand and music ownership. They just had to make sure the project budget is paid back first...then they all split the resulting revenue streams without giving away control. It took years for them to break free from labels just to hand the brand and new recordings over to a new investor?? Wake up guys... Joe is on the right track. The reality of all of this is doing business with people that move like Joe does is painful. I worked in private equity, I know what capital hostages look like, and this seems to be the case here. Joe sounds foolish! When you get into a contract, you will have to share ownership of the music output due to the label providing a budget to make the musc. He cant fool with the slick talk.
It’s not slick talk. He’s saying why share ownership when they have the money/budget to make the music on their own at this point. Even if they didn’t want Joe to fund it solely, they can divvy the costs and not only create the music, but also market and promote it. On the back end, they’ll have 100% ownership of the music which equals 100% of the money generated from it. There’s really no need for a label when it comes to them.

Crooked I likes advance checks. Some artists are just lazy and want that upfront money.
There's no 1 size fits all in regards to business bruh. Its give and take. Its what you want and comfortable with. Joe Clearly isn't comfortable with it how these deals structure. Most others do...because they may go for other more important things. So it is what it is.

Joe just admitted that he didn't want the deal but earlier Royce kept pressing Joel like Joe didn't turn down the deal. Joel and Crook said Joe never returned the call but Joe is saying he had questions and they weren't answered....
Joe’s wanted answers regarding the advance that Crook was pushing for. What did that advance require from them? Joes stance was, if it meant giving equity to anyone else, it was a no for him because they don’t need a label or to give up ownership. Crook basically confirmed this when he did his live…”I got a deal that included ownership”. As in, they got to keep some of it, not all. That’s why Joe didn’t want to do the deal. This is theirs. Why are they giving anyone a share? Joe wanted a distro deal, Crook was negotiating and bringing back Advance/Artist deals.
@@cam714602 Only problem is, Joe never got back with Crook and asked those questions. That's the point.
