Love Shakira.. she's my favorite Latin female artist. I don't understand Spanish either, but the emotion in her voice, seeing her sons singing with her.. the visuals in the video of packing up boxes and the look of an empty house.. you really don't need to understand the Spanish words.. you just need to Feel them. As a mother of 2 sons myself, this song makes me tear up every time I listen to it.

This video was taped just a few days before she and her kids left their house in Barcelona to start a new life in Miami. That’s their old house, those are their boxes full of their things and that’s their piano. The Piano was one of the last things taken from the house as they needed it to record this beautiful video. Through out the video you see the packing process and the rubber ducks represent the three of them in the water and the larger one , outside of the water represents her ex.

At first the three ducks, notice how 1 of the small ones is flipped? I believe that means how hurt one of them was, based on age and maturity probably Milan.
The basketball lights off at the end, priceless because that's a game they always played as a family.
I'm so upset that I never paid attention to previous songs. 'Don't Wait Up" says it clearly how some space hopefully would fix them. Someone was asking for space, we know what that usually means.

Lyrics in Spanish are so much more deep, the translation doesn't make justice to it. It happens in every song, I think, when you translate them. This song is so pure and so sweet, hits your emotions so bad, you can feel identified even if you have no kids. Powerful ballad she gave us, about unconditional love. That's why she is a queen!!! ❤

That's my favorite line. Of course in Spanish is more poetic and melodic, but the translation is still impactful.

Many of us have cried watching this video because we relate to the lyrics
Andy, This video was shot the day before they left Barcelona. You can find the basketball ball in this video in Shakira's video of "Me enamore" alluding to happier days. There is a drawing of four mice on the wall which is a reference to a picture of the four of them wearing mice ears. Finally the boxes in the background suggesting the end of a chapter in their lives and the start of a new one. The translation is a little bit off. "All i want is your happiness and to be with you, your smile is my weakness, loving you serves as the anesthesia for pain, makes me feel better. " Simply a beautiful love letter from a mother to her kids as they start a new life.

They had to leave the house for order of Piqué's Father and she is teaching her sons to forgive them. Beautiful but at the same time sad video.

Thank you for this video. I think Shakira is so incredibly talented. Then she adds her sons to sing in this also & they sing very well. A really special video/song. We have similar situations with our mothers. My mother is 82 & was going in & out of the hospital every month for 6 months & also in critical care in January. She is doing a tiny bit better but pretty much bed ridden & lives 2500 miles away.
It’s so hard to live far away when our parents are sick. Thinking of you and your mom!!
